Comic book collecting with a foreign variant focus
gadzukes replied to Define999's topic in Comics General
Oooooooh one copy slabbed. A 9.0. Well, I think mine is around a 9.2 - 9.4 so I may soon have the "single highest graded copy". Woohoo! -

A couple other cool foreign Keys. These are in GREAT shape. Anyone know if CGC slabs these? They're larger in size, maybe even bigger than normal magazines. As a bonus, the Spiderman comic has a reprint of Thor 166 battling HIM. -

You're right. I like performing rescue missions myself, but seeing the full ashtray and the feet..... I wonder if it kept some bidders away? You're selling something for $5000.... how about taking a couple extra minutes to make the photos look good? Maybe unfold the folded over areas of the cover?
-
I saw this one sold on ebay as a "best offer" under $5000. Seller says it was complete. Split cover, obviously really low grade. Here are two of the photos. One could argue that the price was a deal at under $5000, but the photos..... ugh..... a pile of Cigarette Butts and bare feet make me shudder. Sellers, come on...... at least crop your photos!

Hey..... you got my bad pun. You win a No-Prize

I've seen this posted before. It's funny...... but it's been "doctored".

Is that a Mr Mind in your pocket or are you just happy to be here?

Superman went to paradise Island and tried on their helmets. Unfortunately he left it on for too long.

Not to mention they're staring at a uvula. Are uvulas a universal piece of anatomy in the universe?

Tommy Tomorrow is exploring a planet. "hmmm....this all seems familiar somehow, as if I had seen it somewhere but I can't place it!" Um, maybe you saw it in "Empire Strikes Back"? hmmm.... wait a minute, this comic came out in 1958! HEY....George Lucas STOLE this idea from DC comics!

Peter's only way to protect his identity now is to....... CRASH THE PLANE
-
When you're trying to protect a "secret identity", changing into Spidey on an airplane is probably not the smartest thing to do. It instantly lets a detective know that one of the male civilians on the flight is Spiderman.

MSH 12 is considered a minor key already. Not as big a key as MSH 13, but it did spike a little as the Captain Marvel movie came out. I made a discovery that might make it spike a little again. It's got the first reprinted appearance of Black Knight 1 from 1955. (***I've now found that this is the second story from Black Knight 1. The first Black Knight story was reprinted 1 month earlier in Fantasy Masterpieces 11) BK 1 is a comic that has seriously spiked because of the Eternals movie. Has anyone discussed this yet? Is it a big enough deal to make this comic spike again? I've noticed on the CGC labels for this comic that they don't even mention the Black Knight.

What Hitler And Axis Covers Comics Do You Have?
gadzukes replied to Ferdelance's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Time to bump this thread again. 1941 Hooey Annual 11 Not a comic book (comic magazine), but such a great Hitler cover -
-
Hooey Annual 11 from 1941. This is a "cartoon magazine". Every page is a full size cartoon (mostly spicy, but a few WWII cartoons). Great image of Hitler on cover getting "goosed". Unfortunately the cover was designed to cut/hinge the gate under Hitler so this one has a big cut in it. If you're a comic book purist you may not want this one, but SUCH a great cover.
