I agree 100%. The wonderful complicated tapestry of the world of Hellboy SHOULDN'T BE CRAMMED into 1 movie. It should be episodic story telling just like the comic is. Having said that, I have to admit it was pretty cool to see Lobster Johnson.

I just flew back from Spain and watched Hellboy on the flight (on those tiny 6" screens). I actually really liked parts of the movie, and loved that they were pulling elements right off the pages of the comic. But...... it just didn't hold together very well overall and I suspect the effects maybe weren't that great (hard to tell on a 6" screen). I was not impressed by the addition of Daimio (they barely roughed up his face.... I guess they were saving money on CG) As previous posters have said, Hellboy/BPRD needs the Netflix treatment, the franchise would rock in an episodic format, using BPRD missions for each episode. And maybe eliminating HB for some of the episodes, he certainly doesn't need to be there all the time since BPRD has so many great characters.

AF15 Conundrum

IMO that should not have received a PLOD. The trim was obviously not made to deceive. -
I got to go to “Dragonstone” in northern Spain today...pretty cool. Quite a hike out to the church at the top.

AF15 Conundrum

I don’t think “chunk” is the right word. Chunk sounds huge If the OP split the $6000 profit he could make with you, would that change your opinion? -

I believe you’re right. I’m on vacation right now so I don’t have if in front of me, but I know it was a Conan (although I think it was the pence version... if you would have known that I would have sent a no-prize to you) -

I agree. Unfortunately..... if CGC detects ANY trim.... it gets a PLOD. -

AF15 Conundrum

I just thought I'd add a "visual aid" to help with the conversation. I took one of my worthless comics and trimmed the corner as per the OPs description 1/2" long by 1/8" deep. On the second photo I just scraped up the edge a little to make it look like a tear or a bug chew. Photo 1 represents the OPs 1.5 restored AF15. GPA shows values around $5000 Photo 2 would most likely get the same grade (1.5) in a Blue label. GPA shows value around $11,000. Discuss -

Worst superhero movie of the current era?

Brightburn (does this one count?) FF Aquaman 3rd Spiderman movie (ugh) Punisher WarZone Wolverine These 6 were absolute turds for me. Unlike some, I thought Captain Marvel was watchable but not great. Same with Justice League.... watchable but not great. I didn't go to the new HellBoy (and I'm a huge HellBoy fan), but I heard it was really bad. -

Obviously it would help to see pics, although it's a catch 22 for the OP.... if he posts a photo then the comic will be recognized by all of us once it makes it into a slab. However.... I agree with the OP, if the only resto is a 1/2" x 1/8" corner trim then I would probably do the micro tear and get the blue label. -
I see it at 7.0. Press it to a 7.5

I really enjoyed this movie on so many levels. If Infinity War & Endgame were 10 out of 10 in ratings, then Far from home is probably an 11 for me. They hit it out of the park.

I hated when they announced Michael Keaton as Batman, and Gal Gadot as WW, and then I ended up really loving them in those rolls. It's pretty easy to think Sparkles won't work, but I'm going to give him a chance. Along the same line I had an initial "what the...?" reaction to The Little Mermaid casting, but after a few minutes of thinking it over I thought "Sure, why not?". I'm totally on board with the LM casting now.

Anyone know how many of these Batmobiles exist?
-
I was in a 4th of July parade yesterday in Atlanta (stiltwalking as Uncle Sam) and a guy had a Batmobile. The guy turned out to be an old friend of mine that I haven't seen in years, and he let me get in the car and take a couple pics before the parade started. I was stoked. I guess he takes it around to a lot of cons and parades. He even did a parade with Adam West in the car with him once. Thanks Joey for letting me sit in the Batmobile. You made my day.

Sorry you didn't get a 1.5 out of it. It is about as nice of a 1.0 as you'll ever see. It's still a $4500 comic. Maybe more since it presents well.
