  1. Store your chair in that and it'll end up in Vormir.
  2. I've seen many JIM 83s that looked like that on the right edge. I always think trimmed, but many times it's not. Go look thru the Heritage archive, there should be enough JIM83s there to give you a good idea. Also ask for a "down shot photo" of the free edge.... if it's flat, it's probably trimmed.
  3. I wonder if you could find a seam to poke thru and see if the frame is the same acrylic as the chair Jeri is in. The photo shot of her is not a "star Trek" shot though, it looks like a model shot.
  4. Truthfully, I just compared my cover to some on ebay and mine looks cropped on the top & bottom. (trimmed?) I don't think it's trimmed because I have bought dozens of comics from this collection and none of them have had any work done to them. It looks to be a legitimately BAD miscrop, where the settings were wrong on the trimmer.
  5. Dang, there goes the 10.0 I was hoping for on this one. I'll have to settle for 9.9 now.
  6. What is considered "mint/gem"? is that 9.8, 9.9, & 10? Or is that all the 9s?
  7. I don't think they down grade when it's mis-cropped/mis-aligned. It may get dropped for the name stamp though (although that's as nice and as subtle of a name stamp as I have ever seen). I have a feeling it'll do better than 8.5. I'll post the grade when it comes in.
  8. As cool as I think this comic is...... I'll be selling it.
  9. Joey, your opinion means a lot to me. Looking at my pics how do you think this looks?
  10. OK, I know this is not a comic that's in demand or "key" in any way, but it's old and it's simply so nice that I thought I'd get some opinions. The "flaw" is that it's miscropped (do they take off for that in grading?) This is a gorgeous comic. It also has a super light name stamp on the front. What do you think?
  11. Agreed. This is an all or nothing endeavor for me. Fingers crossed for 9.8
  12. It's pretty rare that I see a bronze age comic that I genuinely think could get a 9.8. This is one. So I thought I'd take a chance on it. If I get a 9.6 I'll be fine with it. If I get a 9.4 or less I'll be bummed.
  13. GPA shows the last 9.8 sold for $1550 in 2016. That might be grossly over paid, but it still sets a mark for 9.8. I'm taking a chance on this one getting a 9.8. It's super nice. I can't imagine it grading under 9.6. Even at 9.6 it'll be at least a $250 comic. All I'm saying is.... Silversurfer27 says it's not even worth grading. I bought this for $15. I spent $8 for a press and $25 for a slab. I don't think that's outrageous for a $250 - $1500 comic. Of course if it comes back as a 7.0 I'm screwed.
  14. So if I get a 9.8 (which I think I have a shot at).... the last one sold for $1500. Is that what you mean by not worth much? I will be shocked if I get anything under 9.6
  15. I agree, send it back! The item was "not as described". He said "small spine split at the bottom", and it turned out to be a large spine split. Just send it back and never buy from this seller again.
  16. I was going to say 4.5, but the sun shadows on the back are pretty bad. I'll say 3.5 - 4.0 (a press will help it)
  17. I would not normally send in a reprint for grading, but this one is so nice that I can't resist. Such a cool cover too. What do you think ...... how high can this go? I only see one light spine tic. Will that spine tic take me out of 9.8 consideration? It's a purdy comic.
  18. Comic has a little crimp at the top left. I had the comic pressed and the crimp looks better (it flattened out) but the crimp creases is still visible front and back. I see one other spine tic, otherwise that's it. I'm sending this in to CGC today.
  19. Pretty nice comic. Everything is snug at the staples. I'm going to try to clean a couple spots on the back cover. I'm sending this to CGC today.
