  1. Is the collection missing the Keys? If you start going thru the collection and see it is not cherry picked then don't be afraid to make a nice offer. You'll easily make your money back. The collection I just bought had a TOS 39 which graded out as a 4.0. That's a $6000 comic right there. There's a lot of good advice in this thread on how to price out and value a collection. If you haven't read the thread go back and take a look.
  2. A couple grand for 5000 (large portion Silverage) would be the deal of the century. That's $.40c a comic. I feel like I got an amazing deal on this collection I just bought and I spent over $20,000.
  3. But not enough for CGC label notations? That's really gotta change. I see Action 251 doesn't have a label notation either.
  4. Where does this one fit into the conversation? Top Notch 22 has an Ad page for a new character named "Archie". From what I have been told TN22 came out one week before Pep22. It would qualify as a "First Preview" since it's an ad. It would also probably qualify as "First Prototype" since the Archie in the Ad doesn't have red hair or an "R" on his shirt. Would it qualify as "First Appearance"? The 3.5 copy that sold on Heritage last year still didn't have ANY NOTATION on the label that Archie appears inside. Travesty. Collectors that know, have started paying premium prices, but it sure seems like CGC should have a label note about what's inside. (I think it might be Wilbur's 1st appearance too)
  5. I've heard of "40 acres and a mule", but "10 acres and a plague". What a deal! And the guy selling it?...... Oz DelFoss With a name like that you know it's legit.
  6. Coming back from CGC 48 is a CGC 6.0 (tear on back cover brings it down) 49 is a CGC 8.5
  7. I wanted a 9.0 SOOOO bad on this one, but alas I only got an 8.5. I wonder if it was the name stamp? Still, can't really complain about an 8.5 on a FF49
  8. This is pretty funny. I think it looks more like the Thing trying to fly. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Unique-Flying-Superman-Cheeto-Comic-con-Item-Original-Cheeto-Unusual/192109642802?hash=item2cbaa08432:g:W50AAOSwyLlXoBZK
  9. With a little luvin it's gonna be a 2.5. Congrats on a great book!
  10. No, I put it up on ebay with a lengthy explanation about the manufacturing error and was able to sell it unslabbed. Phew!
  11. Moisture ripples maybe? The curve of the book and the stains on the outside cover make me wonder if there is some moisture damage to the interior.
  12. It's so hard to make a good guess at grade. The OP says the inner cover is pristine, but one of the photos shows dark stains in the upper left corner of the back cover. I have to admit that front cover looks pretty special, and those colors really pop. I don't see ANY tearing around the staple which is rare for these 1 staple comics. CGC will hammer that back cover stain, but with a press that inner cover might be 7.0-8.0. If the outer cover is low grade...... I might consider taking that outer cover off. That might be blasphemy for some of you, but if you slab it with that outer cover on you'll never see how gorgeous the inner cover is. Is a "double cover" premium really worth it if the outer cover is low grade?
  13. I've had 2 comics like this in all my years collecting. One was a TTA 27. It's somewhat frustrating, because you know it's a manufacturing mistake, but any potential buyer thinks it's a married cover.
  14. Give us some more pics. If you want to get your client the maximum profit then have this comic pressed and sent to CGC. A 6.0 sold earlier this year for $2003, so if your inner cover is 6.0 it should do better than that since it's a double cover.
  15. Put it up for auction tonight and let's set the market price.
  16. Light creasing to cover Light spine stress lines to cover Very light tears to cover Moderate staining to cover I did see some staining to the inside covers when i looked at them raw (from the inside cover you could see a hint of staining), I just didn't think it would be hammered so hard, because as you can see it presents like a 6.5-7.0 IMO. You really can't see any staining from the outside cover. These are both good looking comics.
  17. Possibly the nicest 5.0s you'll ever see. I was a little disappointed with the grades on these two.
