  1. That Speed 18 was sweet. But yeah..... not knowing if the CF was out or coupons clipped..... Gotta play it safer.
  2. It ended at $3800. With the 15% buyers premium it takes it up to $4370. Wow.... that's way too high. I suspect it's not even complete.
  3. I've messaged or talked to many of the HiBid auction houses too. For the most part really nice people and I was able to get some to change their minds about shipping. While I didn't talk to this one.... they had SO many rules in place including No Credit Cards or Paypal! Cash or check only. I knew my friend would drive there so I felt like I was in good shape to bid. One more thing..... I've received comics from HiBid auctioneers just thrown into a mailer with no protection, so I've had to always make clear about packing.
  4. YES! Horrible that they don't ship! Although most HiBid auctions do ship. I have a buddy that lives near the auction (within 2 hours) and he was going to pick it up for me if I won.
  5. I was bidding on this on HiBid, but am at a point where I feel it's too risky to bid more $ without knowing if it's complete (One of HiBids failures is they don't give enough info, and when you ask questions they rarely answer) So... I'm out. But thought I'd post it here in case someone wants to jump in and take the risk. This is Lot #119 which ends tonight for Imkahlng Auctions on HiBid They don't even mention the Detective comics 35 in the title or show it in the 1st pic (which is why I thought I could snag it). The 1st pic they show in the auction is a pic of the worthless "Little Max" comic. The other coverless comics of note in this lot are: More Fun 89, Mystery Men 31, & Fantastic Comics 15.
  6. Wow... that's strikingly similar.... but I don't know if it's a steal. What year is Modern Boy from?
  7. Avengers 57 CGC 5.0 ow-w This comic is shockingly undervalued right now. GPA 12month Av = $365, 90day Av = $292 $270
  8. ASM 135 (2nd Punisher) CGC 9.2 with WHITE pages Sharp copy.... I was thinking 9.6 GPA 12month Av = $525, last sale $425 $399
  9. SOLD Gazetinha 550 (Superman "Action Comics 8"): Complete raw Brazilian supplement from August 1939. The Gazetinha comic was a weekly "episodic" so only 1 1/2 pages of each story is within. This one, #550 includes: -Complete 4 wraps (8 leafs) -Action Comics 8- Page 2 (and part of page 3) from the Superman Story (In Color) -Action Comics 4- A page from the Marco Polo story. -Action Comics 7- A page from the Tex Thomson Story It also includes an Awesome original cover for Ella Cinders (and a page of a story within) The 2-Page Centerfold is for the Science Fiction Story "Luke Harry- On Planet Zinder" (kind of a Flash Gordon type of thing that I believe was only produced in Brazil) To put this comic in perspective.... it came out at the same time as Action Comics 15 and Superman 2 here in the US. It also came out 2 months before ANY Superman Sunday strips started in the US. -Condition. This one was pulled from a bound edition however the spine is actually pretty nice and there is no trimming. The spine has a 2" split in the middle. Centerfold is really nice. Superman page is the back cover and shows some foxing. $75 shipped
  10. Yeah.... I just wouldn't want to send it in for a .5, or a 1.0 purple. I'd send it in for a 1.0 conserved or blue though.
  11. My bad. The art might not be the best on TOH8 but it's a pretty dramatic cover. I like it.
  12. I'm mostly looking for confirmation that this would at least get a 1.0. Pics will tell you everything you need to know. There is some archival tape on the inner spine so.... (conserved grade?) The interior is actually surprisingly nice. CF is snug at the staples.
  13. There's definitely no "Laziness" in ANY of those covers. There's SO much detail.
  14. SOLD Planet Comics 19 (#1 UK 1951 Locker edition), CGC 3.0 WHITE PAGES - (R) "cover reinforced" Super Rare UK edition. CGC didn't put a date on the label, but GCD has a date of 1951 for it. (probably only a handful of these even exist) This comic is NOT restored even though CGC says it is. It's a square bound comic and the original applied glue was sloppily applied. The glue extends from the spine about 3/8" on both front & back cover. It's not reinforced, it's just sloppy original glue. I pleaded my case with CGC but they told me they would not change the label. The comic was part of a 150 comic hoard recently pulled out of a barn in the UK and sold directly to me. I bought the whole set. None were bagged and boarded.... all still had dirt & cobwebs. I have enough experience to know a raw, unrestored collection. But.... CGC won't listen to me. $1200 $950
  15. House of Secrets 92 CGC 5.5 (R) Slight-A ow pages Label says "Small amount of color touch on cover" Comic is out of the case but the label is still with it. Comic looks really nice. I am not sure where the CT is on this one if you're wondering. $900 $825
