  1. I posted these pics in another thread but thought it was a cool enough find to post here too. Australian Reggie 17 vs US PEP 93. Has this been posted before. Pretty cool difference.
  2. Check out the difference between the Australian Reggie 17 cover and the US PEP 93 cover. Pretty cool.
  3. I couldn't resist these Australian comics when I saw the great covers they had. The Gang 5 has the American cover to Betty & Veronica 1. Reggie 4 has the American cover to Reggie 1. Reggie 7 has the American cover to B&V 2. The Jughead 11 has the US cover to Jughead 3. The Pep 11 has the US cover to PEP 79 (I love the Veronica as an Indian on that cover ) The Reggie 17 has the US cover to PEP 93 but there's a major difference.
  4. Thanks, and welcome to the boards.
  5. Let's narrow the field for JB123 then.... There are only 90 total Wilburs. You have about 75% of all Wilburs. That's about 68 Wilburs that you have, which leaves 22 Wilburs that you don't have. So give JB123 the list of the 22 Wilburs that you don't have and he can check the GCD to eliminate at least a handful of those 22 (the GCD does have content listings for many Wilburs). JB123, once you identify it, make sure you update the GCD
  6. There's a LOT of things I don't know much about, but I would at least show a picture of them from the front. This guy CLEARLY knows what he has because of the prices he put on them.
  7. I was thinking maybe that's the back cover to TTA 35 and you get both of them? Then if you look at the description..... apparently you get these "along with original 1939 Superman Newspaper pages" This guy is the worst lister ever!
  8. Here's my two graded 48s. I picked both of them up 4 years ago for a grand total of $1275 (which I thought was really good even back then). I wish I would have bought more but all the bad FF movies gave me pause. I don't mind Stan's sigs on these because he didn't sign over anyone's faces.
  9. I don't think these are bogus listings, I think you will get the comics if you win them...... but without being able to see the front covers, who can make a good judgement on them?
  10. This is an example of a comic that you REALLY need a detailed disclosure of every little thing that was done to it to make an intelligent bid. Maybe disclosure of the restorer would help. It's a gorgeous book. I'm guessing it was gorgeous before the resto too.
  11. Sometimes I just can't understand what ebay sellers are thinking. Here are a bunch a MAJOR Marvel keys and they're listed SO poorly. Xmen 1: 5 photos with NONE of the front. And the seller didn't put the number in the title. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Uncanny-X-MEN/323255289497?hash=item4b43844699:g:bOwAAOSwc~5a-Ll~ Daredevil 1&2 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Daredevil-1-2-Apr-1964-Marvel/323249158315?hash=item4b4326b8ab:g:tNQAAOSwvHRa84Xk Avengers 1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-AVENGERS/323257116024?hash=item4b43a02578:g:jWcAAOSwuHJa-l7v
  12. You need to go over to the "Grand Comic Database" and simply punch in one of the story titles in the comic. The story title to the comic you show is covered by the sticker so I couldn't make out the 2nd word.
  13. When I see auctions that I think a "mistake" was made either in a misspelled title or a key issue "hidden" in the back, I tend to pay more attention to it and sometimes put in more bids on it (thinking how I'm such a smart guy with my detective skills). Then when I win it I think, wait a minute, I just paid more for this than if everything was listed correctly. I don't know for sure what happened with this one, but Ginger 1 & 4 are not under the radar any more.
  14. Sgt Fury and his Howling Commandoes 1 Low grade incomplete copy (missing CF) Lots of creases and tears Cover has lots of tape slivers sealing various small tears. Cover would be loose except for tape seals around the staple tears. The remaining CF has slivers of tape sealing tears around the staples. the edges of the remaining CF are rough. This would grade in the 1.0 range and would be "Qualified" because of the missing CF $143
  15. Lucky Star 1 from 1950 This is half the size of a normal comic. Complete Cover & CF are firmly attached at staples Name written on cover Sun Shadow at top of back cover Small tears at bottom staple but everything is secure 4.5 range $19
  16. SOLD Cartoon Spice 4 - Charlton from 1957- BILL WARD cover (as McCartney) This is the size and shape of a regular comic. Complete Cover & CF attached securely at the staples. Light crease at the top with a little color loss through the "n" of "Cartoon". Tiny chip missing at bottom of back cover. I think it grades in the 5.0 range $149
  17. Here's one you don't see every day Gang World 6 Complete low grade Cover & CF are attached at the staples (Tape on the inside cover sealing small staple tears.... cover would be loose without the tape) Grades in the 2.0 range. $20
  18. Popular Comics 79 from 1942 Complete Spine roll Cover & CF are attached at the staples Small creases and small tears like you would see in a low grade GA comic 1 page has a cornerpiece that has ripped out and taped back in with minimal tape (see pic) I think this would be a 2.0 $14
  19. Walt Disney's Comics and Stories 19 (vol 2 #7) from 1942 Complete. Small spine roll. A little writing on the cover. Cover and Centerfold are still secure at staples (CF is starting to pull away at bottom staple). Small creases and tears like you usually see in these old WD comics, but actually it's in pretty good shape with OW/W pages. I think it grades in the 3.0-3.5 range $79
  20. I just pulled out an ASM 23 & ASM 26 (because I had them handy). 23 & 26 both follow the same format so I'm going to assume ASM 28 follows the same format. -1st wrap has 2 story pages on the frontleaf, 1 letters page on the backleaf & 1 ad page on the backleaf. -2nd wrap has 2 story pages on the frontleaf, a Marvel ad page on the backleaf & 1 letters page on the backleaf. -3rd wrap has a Marvel ad on the front leaf, a regular ad on the frontleaf, a regular ad on the backleaf and a Pinup page on the back leaf. (This would be considered a full wrap without story) -4th wrap has 2 story pages on the frontleaf, 2 story pages on the back leaf. -5th wrap has 2 story pages on the frontleaf, 2 story pages on the back leaf. -6th wrap has ad page on the frontleaf & story page on the front leaf, & 2 ad pages on the back leaf. -7th wrap has 2 story pages on the front leaf, 2 story pages on the backleaf. -8th wrap (centerfold) has 2 story pages on the front leaf, & 1 ad page on the back leaf, & 1 story page on the back leaf.
  21. No, most marvel silver has Story content on the left side of the CF
  22. Yes, I know that there are "pages" with ads on both sides of the page, but are there full wraps with ads on all sides?
