  1. Resurrecting this thread because of Captain Marvel hype. The only 3 comics left in this thread are: Marvel Super-Heroes 12 CGC 6.5 Marvel Super-Heroes 13 CGC 6.5 (looks better than the grade) Captain Marvel 1 CGC 9.4
  2. Archie 1 Zdarsky variant, Jug Head 1 Variant, Betty & Veronica 1 variant, B&V 2 variant All high grade in the 9s I'll say Archie 1 is at least 9.4, Jughead 1 has a couple spine tics so I'll say 9.0, B&V 1 is a 9.4-9.6, B&V 2 is a 9.6-9.8, $10 $9 $8 for the set
  3. Josie & the Pussycats 1 Campbell variant, 2 variant, & 3 variant All 3 are high grade in the 9s #1 (campbell) looks to be the best. #2 has a shallow crimp in the upper left, #3 has a miniscule flaw at the extreme lower left of back cover. $20 $18 $16 for the set.
  4. Normal rules apply No HOS or Probies US destinations only Winner pays $5 per lot for USPS shipping 1st in the thread gets it. Returns ok. You pay shipping back to me.
  5. I just went to the bank to retrieve my Coverless copy of AF15. Turns out it is missing the CF (dang, I had forgotten) so...... I need find a complete coverless and then maybe sell this incomplete coverless to help defray the costs. No matter what though.... I am stoked to get the cover. Also, I apologize to the OP of this thread if I swooped in and got it before he could. Truth be told it had been up on the sales thread for quite a while before I got it.
  6. I have a coverless copy. It was a no-brainer to pick it up. I'm very happy. I was shocked it didn't go faster.
  7. No, this is not a married cover. The extra staple holes go thru all the front half pages, plus.... I can't go thru the whole story but I know this is an original owner comic, who didn't just get it off the rack, but his dad ran the general store that sold this comic originally. It is literally an overstock comic that was left in the attic of the store and not sent back to the publisher as a remaindered comic. It seems suspicious, but it checks out. I just don't know how to tell CGC the whole story.
  8. Another comic I submitted to CGC recently. Really nice looking old comic. It has what I consider to be a manufacturing flaw (I sure hope CGC agrees)... There are some staple holes way to the right of the spine on the front cover. It makes it look like some one pulled the staples and restapled it at a later time (aka resto). But the comic looks unread, so I believe there was a mistake in the stapling of the comic and the manufacturer pulled the 1st set and restapled. The mark on the free edge of the back cover might be a felt tip marker?
  9. Another comic I submitted to CGC recently. Really nice looking old comic. That's not a stain on the bottom of the back cover. It's something that happens on some of the ACG comics when their papers age.
  10. Another comic I submitted to CGC recently. Really nice looking old comic.
  11. So low grade and yet SO beautiful. I love that it's completely unrestored.
  12. I thought I had a chance to steal this one, but the price shows there are a LOT of savvy collectors out there. Over $4000 now with an hour to go. Really nice looking 0.5
  13. Since you were able to examine them side by side, what did your eyeballs tell you? Which one did the first buyer pick?
  14. Spine looks good. Free edge is amazing. Colors are VERY bright (look at those reds). If it's structurally sound then this would be a great book to go after. If they're pricing it in the 4.5 range then jump on it.
  15. No, I did a straight submit to CGC. The comic is very flat. I suppose a press could help it but I didn't see it jumping even a half grade.
  16. Don't listen to these other guys. Even with the small flaws I'm seeing a 5.5-6.0 What is going on with the 12c area?
  17. I submitted this to CGC a couple days ago. Because it's pricey I'll probably get it back within a couple weeks. I have a standing deal with a "Storage Unit buyer" to call me any time she finds comics in a storage unit. I negotiated a $1000 price for this one (I think I did great on that price!). This was the ONLY comic in a recent unit she bought at auction. Once I handed her the money I asked her what the storage unit cost her........ she said, "$25". She did really well on that unit. It's pretty nice, not perfect, but pretty nice. Everything is snug and it has the MVS. Biggest flaw is that area around Wolverine right wrist by the spine.
  18. This is another from my recent CGC submission. I probably overpaid for this comic but I've wanted one for a long time. No big flaws just overall wear.
  19. This is another from my recent CGC submission. I found a longbox of my comics that I haven't looked at in many years and found some cool old comics that I'd forgotten about. I don't even remember buying this (I don't collect Spirit comics) so this must have been a comic I found at an amazing price. This comic is dripping with bright color & gloss. Tiny flaw in the upper right. date stamp on back. the mark on the free edge of back cover looks to be from a felt tip marker.
