  1. Which makes it all the better Congrats to the owner Play your cards right and don't quick sell this to a collector or dealer. Get it reviewed by a professional who can press and dry clean it and fold back all the parts carefully to them maximize the slabbed grade and your end price if you should decide to slab and sell. Personally most folks here would love to own it. If I were in your position I'd keep it too. Take comicdey's advice. Send it to CCS first and have them review it. You'll spend a little money, but you will end up with the maximum grade.
  2. I like the '74 date on the signature too. Someone told me that Stan went to a big comic convention in London in 1974 which is probably when it was signed.
  3. https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/amazing-fantasy-15-verified-signature-marvel-1962-cbcs-vf-85-off-white-to-white-pages/a/7139-91159.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515 Seems very very light tanning there. Did you get the notes peewee22? Hulk 1 8.5 sold 132K, AF15 9.0 Voldy sold 237K...I think 150K at least is extremely possible. Did not get the notes. Just stating what I see. The Voldy label says signed on last page. Unless it was removed it is still there. Very nice copy though. Okay. I bet a clean nice autograph by Stan...At least not on the interior cover or outside cover. Not talking down Signature Series. I agree nice copy. Why isn't there a label notation about the signature? They don't have to say it's verified, but they should at least mention that it's there. I have a 7.0 Af15 pence copy that is signed by Stan on the splash and it has a notation on the label. Was your AF15 7.0 pence copy graded a a few years ago? I've seen a boardie posted an AF15 with Stan Lee Signature (on front cover) with no notations. For this 8.5 AF15, I bet they factor the signature into the grading...and not much downgrade since it's not visible in the cover. Mine was graded 4 or 5 years ago. I took a photo of the sig on the splash page and keep it with the slab so if I ever sell it I can show the sig to the buyer. To me the notation on the label of the sig is a positive thing even though it's not a signature series, I think it's easy to see it's a real sig.
  4. The voldy copy with a better scan this time. Going for a bundle more this time. Below is the link: https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/amazing-fantasy-15-marvel-1962-cgc-vf-85-off-white-to-white-pages/p/7158-1008.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515 Looks like that copy wasn't brutally over graded like everyone said it was. I thought it was in the ballpark. Someone is going to make out like a bandit! I've seen it SDCC before the auction in 8/16. The scan in the former voldy case didn't do it justice the first time around. As you said, someone is going to make out like a bandit "one of the greatest flip in less than an year" . Here is the old scan (if we are allowed to look at Voldy books). The defects are more noticeable. There is light tanning on the upper back cover. The book is signed on the last page which means to me there is penned ink in the book. Still a very nice copy. Ending at 78k, someone is easily about to double their money. https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/amazing-fantasy-15-verified-signature-marvel-1962-cbcs-vf-85-off-white-to-white-pages/a/7139-91159.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515 Seems very very light tanning there. 5. I thought Top Notch 22 was the 1st appearance.
  6. Big shout out to Wayne-Tec for helping me complete one my coverless copies of Superman 1. I was missing the 2nd wrap and he came through for me. Thanks buddy. I'll post a photo soon. https://www.flickr.com/photos/147204610@N02/shares/5hmNY0
  7. Andrew are you trying to pop the Archie bubble?
  8. GAtor, If you had a WonderWoman 1 would you be actively trying to sell it right now or would you sit on it for a while?
  9. I can't find the "small drop of glue" when I look at the pics. Can anyone else see it? That's really a horrible notation to have on your label. I would want the glue drop removed (so that notation would go away), but I'd be nervous about a big grade drop. I actually think the book looks really nice except for the MC. That's a pretty big price drop for MC. I'm glad the 2 I own don't have the chipping. Does anyone know the percentage of AF15s that have MC? Is it 50%? More?
  10. A voldy restored Archie 1 3.5 Slight/Moderate sold recently on ebay for $15,477. There were some piece's added to cover and interior, color touch, staples cleaned, a page was trimmed, and a moderate amount of tape to cover and interior. That seems like a pretty strong price for that much resto. But maybe A1 is heating up again? Will the Riverdale show affect prices on this?
  11. What's the explanation for having Stan sign a comic twice?
  12. Except for the MC, I think that is a great looking 6.5 We might learn a lot about the MC deduction from this auction. Did any of the 4 recent $50k Af15 6.5s have MC?
  13. Dave Chappelle is in this? That's Bokeem Woodbine. he's a solid actor. Loved him in Fargo.
  14. A really nice presenting blue 0.5, or like said above.... a green 1.0
  15. Everyone's entitled to their opinion....but what can I say about someone who wouldn't want MPFW #1 because the cover-art isn't nice?? You probably wouldn't want the Mona Lisa because her smile isn't nice. What would you want, a picture of Batman?? We aren't talking about the Mona Lisa, we are talking about MPFW #1, and yes the cover art is terrible. How about a slabbed coverless copy where the pages are bent back on themselves to expose the Subby story?
  16. If you put on your 3-D glasses that photo really pops out at you.
  17. Wow, a thousand bucks for three quarters of one page... It's got too much Marvel chipping for me to be interested.
  18. You never see those in that condition. Congrats

  20. Antman was on TV tonight (starz I think) so I decided to watch it. It was SO enjoyable. I liked it when it came out, but I don't think I loved it. But it was so much fun to watch it again. What a great movie!
  21. This time of year is hit and miss. Generally speaking, some people get Christmas bonuses and end up splurging on themselves but over all the plethora of end of year auctions (people trying to raise money), lack of time due to Christmas and Thanksgiving and credit card bills getting bloated I've found that this time of year is a buyer's market. I think that as you get close to Christmas, people get busy and distracted and don't follow auctions or eBay listings as closely as at other times. I'm not sure, though, that getting a bargain on a book like AF 15 is all that likely, even at high noon on Christmas Day. I made one of my greatest ebay purchases on Xmas day about 3 years ago. As I seller I try to always make sure my auctions NEVER end on holidays. Details! Details! Won an original Steve McCurry photo of the Afghan Girl for $2500. Photos like that should not be sold on ebay they should be sold through Sothebys or maybe Heritage. The auction was actually for two of McCurry's photos I got them both for $5000. Fantastic deal. Ended on Xmas day.
