  1. Are you going to Crack and submit to CGC? it's gorgeous
  2. Not sure why you think it did ok when it sold for only a tiny fraction (i.e. less than 9%) of its condition guide value. Especially when you compare it with Cap 3 or the Wonder Woman 4 which both sold for a premium over and above their full condition guide value, even with restoration work clearly identified on both of these books. I guess I always assume the pre-resto grades for these extensive resto copies is 1.0-1.8. Those have all been selling under $8k. So $10k seemed ok. Not outstanding, but ok. If this Af15 8.5 Extensive had a pre-resto grade of 3.0 or above then it did really bad,
  3. That's some pretty awesome news. I really enjoyed how the season ended. All shows, even the good ones seem to have bumps in the road when they start out and Preacher was no different. I can't wait for the season 2 roadtrip to begin. When will it come out? Do we have to wait a whole year?
  4. Does anyone who bought the new OSG know if Pristine Comics put their ad for Pence copies in again this year. Wen their ad came out last year I thought that was another pretty good indicator that Pence copies were starting to be more recognized.
  5. I think it was interesting that there were so many Pence copies that showed up in the auction. That in itself shows a growing interest.
  6. The cropping on that top photo does make it look amazing.
  7. I posted this in General but thought i should post it here too. For all of you Pence lovers the Heritage auction had a bunch of keys: On the left is the Heritage Pence Price. On the right is the most recent GPA "cent" prices of the same comic or current 1 year average. After that is the percentage of the cent price that the pence price sold for. TOS39 7.5 ........$7768 ...$9560 ...81% DD 1 7.5 ...........$2031 ...$3663 ...56% ASM1 8.5 .........$16,730 $23,000 72% Avengers 1 7.5 $5736 ....$6865 ...84% Avengers 4 8.0 $1793 ....$3000 ...60% ST 110 8.0 .......$5497 ....$7433 ...74% FF 5 7.0 ...........$2390 ....$4000 ...58% ASM 14 8.0 .....$1434.... $2280 ...63% 2 of the keys went for over 80% 2 of the keys were between 70-80% 2 of the keys were between 60-70% 2 of the keys were between 55-60% The average percentage of these 8 keys (as relating to cent values) was basically 70% (I rounded up slightly) I really think pence copies are getting good recognition right now and may continue to go up in price.
  8. Maybe the Cr/OW kept it lower than the other recent sales. Truthfully, I'm betting the buyer is extremely happy.
  9. The heritage 8.5 with extensive resto seemed to have done ok at $10k
  10. 77K That's really low. What did most people think the grade actually was? 7.5?
  11. The bags of urine story is funny, hopefully Wayne-Tec can get a laugh out of it. Every time I see a posting in this thread I want to click on it and see "Parcel found!!!"
  12. That would have been perfect. Tried to play with this idea a few years back. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7024062&fpart=1 I remember that, and I absolutely loved it. DC should take that idea and use it on one of it's WW variant covers.
  13. Yeah, shame WW is not on the cover of AS8 I have to say though.... AS8 without WW on cover > ST110 without Dr Strange on cover. I think the AS8 cover is really cool. Too bad WW is not in the crystal ball.
  14. Here's my raw WW 1. I've also got a CGC 3.0 with a married CF and a raw AS8 with a married CF.
  15. tn 22 was on sale oct 10.1941...pep 22 was on sale oct 15,1941 Has this been proven? Is there a database for the releases? Overstreet doesn't even mention the ad in TN22.
  16. Gator, I bought a Top Notch 22 because of the Archie Ad. In the Ad, Archie seems more like a prototype than like the Archie we know and love. I know the 2 comics are dated the same month, but comics come out on different weeks during the month. So my question is... Have you ever encountered any evidence that this ad might slightly predate Pep 22?
  17. The season ended feeling like the Preacher comic to me. Last few episodes were great. Overall I give it a 7 out of 10. 1st half of the season is only a 4 out of 10 though.
  18. That's a great looking copy. I wonder how high it could grade with the cover detached. I'd say it presents like a 6.0 at least. congrats
  19. I have to agree. Though last night's episode was interesting in showing The Saint of Killers reliving his sins over and over. I wonder how confusing that was for a few minutes to the general audience. Like the reel was stuck in a loop. It was a very daring yet successful approach to the character and his situation that could have backfired. It seemed a bit long, but it really hammered down the personal hell he was having to endure.
  20. Hilarious. In an instant it turned Cassidy from a terrifying character, back to a likable character. Also, when the Angels were getting on the bus to Hell, and the tall one had to leave the trunk behind, did I hear him say, "But what about my Comics?". Nice little shout out to us comic collectors.
  21. Just like so many shows out there..... you gotta give em a few episodes to find their footing (this one took longer than some, but I'm glad I kept watching) This show is finding it's legs now. I'm starting to really like it. The directing, pacing, editing, use of comedy... it's all coming together now.
  22. The "Shamballa" reference was great. Maybe I can finally sell my 9.6 Doc Strange "Into Shamballa" comic.
  23. Anyone catch the "Green Hand of Adonais" easter egg in the final credits? It happened fast, but I know I saw the green hand (was referenced earlier in the movie too).
