  1. And I panicked that it wouldn't break $100k. My wife will be very happy when she comes home from work today. (wait a minute..... should I even tell my wife about this sale???)
  2. GPA says the last US 7.0 AF15 went for $162,000. So this Pence copy came in at 81% of the last US copy. Not bad Oh... but if that $191k CL price is true.... this one is only about 70% of that one.
  3. Internet bidding ended about 5 minutes ago. I am monitoring the live bidding. The AF 15 is going to be approx the 30th lot that comes up. I'm guessing in 30 minutes we'll know
  4. AF15 pence is at $81,000 Live bidding starts soon
  5. Understandable...... well, this moment will "move the bar" a little, or hopefully a lot..
  6. 1 hour left in the Heritage auction for the AF15 pence If it stays at $57,600 I personally think it's a steal and the buyer will be VERY happy.
  7. I definitely wasn't expecting $191k to be slapped down on the Pence copy. I just was hoping to see this 7.0 Pence rise up over $100k. By the way..... no matter what happens..... this AF15 pence copy will be historic because it will be the highest price ever realized for a Marvel Pence copy (I'm assuming no other Pence has sold for more)
  8. I've never understood why the census separates these 2 comics. Is AF15 the ONLY pence variant that gets treated this way??? Or are there other examples?
  9. The heritage AF15 7.0 is only at $57,600 (including BP) with 2 hours left. I'm sure it will finish higher but...... I really thought it would be higher than that. With my rose colored glasses on, I thought it would break $100,000 but I think it's going to fall way short of that. A ComicLink US AF15 7.0 went for $191,000 recently...... I thought that was going to pull the Pence copies higher.
  10. I don't know anything about this cool book, but I have to say.... when the HULK punches something, the sound effect is definitely NOT "ZOK!"
  11. Yeah, it was probably slabbed 8 years ago. The thought of sending it back for a reholder doesn't really appeal to me because of it's value compared to possible shipping snafus, but I have to admit I would like to have the "UK Price Variant" designation on the label
  12. Dang, I just looked at mine. It says says "UK Edition"
  13. The seller should be looking at the auction and be upset about the description. They've got a lot riding on this.
  14. Yikes, it even says UK Price Variant right on the label and Heritage still called it an "edition"
  15. I forget.... what's the lingo we're using? UK variant?
  16. An AF 15 Pence 7.0 (tied for highest on the census) is at auction on Heritage. This must be a newly slabbed copy because for years my 7.0 was the "single highest graded copy". I've always wanted to know the value of mine. Guess I'm going to find out. It's only at $48000 (with buyers premium) with 5 days left. Fingers crossed that it goes way up. Any predictions on the hammer price? The last US 7.0 sold for $162,000, and that was fairly recent. Will this one crack the $100k barrier? It will definitely be a "record price" for a pence copy. https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/amazing-fantasy-15-uk-edition-marvel-1962-cgc-fn-vf-70-off-white-to-white-pages/a/7246-91032.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515#7246-21004
  17. I'm glad CGC doesn't grade these abominations. It's like what.... 5% of the comic is real? I just don't see these as legitimate authentic copies. The person who has the "#1 piece" from the Action Comics 1 should send his piece in and have them construct an entire comic around it.
  18. I thought they say, "you can't take them with you".
  19. (I'd try to get some of those if I were you........ or are they squirrelled away in collections never to come out again?)
  20. I agree with everything you said. Also, with the craze for "high grade" Newstand copies of Copper/Modern comics..... collectors should take a step back and realize that "high grade" UK copies are truly the rarest of the rare.
  21. I was just looking at Census data and thought I'd post current UK totals. Xmen 1 almost looks common compared to some of the others. Current Census totals for Marvel - Blue + SS "early" mega UK Keys (rarest to most common) (as of SEPT 1 2021) Sgt Fury 1 = ...... 15 FF 5 =.................15 TOS 39 =............18 TTA 27 =............ 19 FF 4 =.................26 FF 1 =.................25 JIM 83 =............. 27 ST 110 =.............29 HULK 1 =........... 39 AF 15 =...............52 DD 1 =................64 ASM 1 =..............65 AVEN 1 =............68 AVEN 4 =............80 XMen 1 =............82
  22. What's the grade on your UK Hulk 1. The census shows only 4 grade higher than 5.0
  23. Panto, since you brought up some census data it got me curious to review the census for ALL the early Marvel Keys including FF 4 & 5 Current Marvel - Blue + SS Census for "early" mega Keys (rarest to most common) (as of SEPT 1 2021) Sgt Fury 1 = ...... 906 TTA 27 =............ 936 FF 4 =.................1295 HULK 1 =........... 1437 FF 5 =..................1613 JIM 83 =............. 1719 ST 110 =.............1821 FF 1 =.................1924 TOS 39 =............ 2031 AF 15 =...............2517 ASM 1 =..............3331 AVEN 4 =.............3803 AVEN 1 =............3857 XMen 1 =............4497 DD 1 =................4700 I wonder how much these numbers are skewed by CPR?
