  3. Beautiful collection! Love that Planetary landscape! (thumbs u
  4. That is one pretty book Jimbo And it is from my favorite section of the Cap run Thanks Billbo, it's a keeper Nice Adventure and More Fun pick ups on your end!! (thumbs u It has been a good month for comics around these parts Even better Billbo, here's my latest addition ...... from Ricky!!!! Very nice; another welcome Timely addition! Congrats on both books, Jim! (thumbs u
  5. Congratulations! That is a real stunner; what a book to have in grade!
  6. Atta Boy, George - classic Frazetta, presents well for the grade, superb page quality. I like. Beautiful book! :applause: Stunning! IMO, the best Frazetta FF cover of the series. Let me add my congrats to the growing list!
  7. Wonderful funny book! Easily one the very best covers in the run imho. Thanks Xavier, I could not agree more. It looks like Schomburg went the extra mile on this cover. Great depth of field with lots of mayhem going on, but not so busy that you lose focus on the center of interest. It's a visually powerful image and among his very best cover illustrations. (thumbs u The Timely funny animal books may not be my focus, but you do have a beautiful book there Hepcat, and Billy Parker's Kid Komics is exceptional.
  8. Now you're talking my language! (thumbs u Timely did, however, publish a much broader range of titles than the focus of the collectors on this board would seem to indicate. Yes siree, Timely published lots of books with broads on the covers!
  9. Ugh I looked at that books on their site for months, debated about making a move on it. Looked at it again last night as I was seriously considering it and then I saw it sold. Congrats, its a great cover. I think that copy sold as a 6.5 on Heritage but a slight miswrap must have been pressed out. Thanks Surfer! I had this one bookmarked and had been drooling over it for months too. While at WorldWide I requested the book from stock for personal inspection; I got the impression that Stephen was close to selling it because he mentioned several inquiries. After I looked over the book a little voice in my head said make an offer and the rest is history. BTW, Stephen and Matt are great guys; trust me, that long rumored Pedigree book WILL come out (it should be an epic book, like Toystory's War and Pizza)!
  10. Sometimes they even flame, ...but that doesn't make them any less manly men! (thumbs u Disclaimer: Apologies to all of our Japanese brothers and sisters now suffering one of the worst natural disasters in history. We love our vintage books and art, but WWII propaganda is what it is and must be appreciated given the context of the times.
  11. Awesome Cap, Frisco-man! A tough book in grade. Speaking of Timely acquisitions, I pulled the trigger on this raw Schomburg classic while at WorldWide less than 24 hours ago (VF/VF-). I'm still having trouble sizing files on my new scanner, so here is the original scan from Matt & Stephen's site: Enjoy!
  12. Dali would have made a great comic book artist. (thumbs u Awesome surrealism! That one's a ...
  13. That's OK, David - "oversized" is quite appropriate in this case. Thanks!
  14. Apologies in advance for the oversized scan, but I'm still learning the ropes. I know some would probably prefer my latest acquisition laid on the pool table, but this should still pass pier review. Cheers, David
  15. Gorgeous book, Rahigh (really rich colors); on a par with my 8.5 Lloyd Jacquet copy!
  16. True, and you're probably thinking that I can get a padded cell for nothing, but it will probably cost you $500 more to have that Boscov's chair hailed to the dump several weeks after the purchase, ...provided it lasts that long. Let's see, ...Eames chair or comic ...Eames chair or comic ...Eames chair or comic C'mon Bill, an Eames lounge chair isn't much more than one of our beloved 10c comics!
  17. Beautiful collection, Bill, ...and kidding aside, very nice couch too. (thumbs u What you need now is an authentic Eame's chair for the ultimate in personal relaxation while reading those FUN puppies (trust me on this). Thanks David. It's a sleeper sofa too for geeks that need a place, near comics, to crash. Which Eame's chair do you recommend? Sorry it's taken me this long to respond but I've been away most of the day. I recommend the Santos Palisander finish with with black italian leather (this one is like the one I purchased from Design Within Reach in Dallas and had it shipped; but here is the Amazon description) http://www.amazon.com/Palisander-Recliner-Lounger-Matching-ottoman/dp/B001AVPAWQ What I like about the Eames lounger is how it fits in with just about every decor while retaining an unearthly elegance, ...and talk about comfort! Oh, one other thing: unlike most other furniture, Eames retains or increases in value (NOT the knock-offs; Herman Miller is the only licensed manufacturer). BTW, that's a remarkably humanitarian gesture providing a restful place near comics for geeks to crash. (thumbs u

  19. Wow, nice batch of Fun! BTW, how long have you had that Rooms-To-Go couch? Raymour and Flanigan And it is a new addition to the comic room
