  1. Thanks, Surfer! Lloyd Jacquet file copies in high grade are sweet, and the provenance of this one is very interesting. other than the pay copy, and it doesn't say "jacquet" on the label, this is the only one i have. Nice looking book! (thumbs u BTW, I find it interesting that the corner character labels only lasted for about 6 months, then quietly disappeared. Nothing like that would reappear until silver age Marvel heroes emerged in the early 60's. There must be some story behind this.

  3. I have a number of CGC'd books coming back this month; in the meantime, here are several Subbies that I don't recall posting earlier: Right now I'm on the road with the wife in San Diego so posting images is challenging, but I am frequently checking the board. WOW! So many great Timelys have been posted here recently; if this keeps up I'll need a prayer rug! (worship) (worship)
  4. Caps rule, Surfer; that's an awesome comic. Congrats to Billy for snaggin' that puppy! The more Caps the merrier, so here's my #57...
  5. I can't compete with that. Lech Walesa I did sit next to Lee Corso in the airport last night I got hugged by Felicia Day at ComicCon last summer
  6. in Brodie's defense, the kangaroo did attack him first... The jury is still out on whether it was an unjustified attack. Judging from the Kinks Mason fishing expedition and the Rip Regan/Power Man cover, maybe that poor misguided kangaroo just thought Steve was trying to mate with him!
  7. comics.org says that it is Rip Regan the Power Man on the cover: http://www.comics.org/issue/732/ But it looks like the colorist (or maybe even the cover artist) never bothered to read the story because this is what Power Man looks like inside: and Kinks Mason's story looked like it was starting pretty kinky: and Shark Brodie met up with a kangaroo from the matrix: Well, those yellow tights do seem to vindicate Power Man, ...if not the front cover colorist. But Kinks Mason's deep sea fishing fantasies and Steve Brodie's animal abuse issues are just plain WRONG. In fairness, I probably shouldn't convict Steve Brodie on the prime facia evidence, ...he should go before a kangaroo court.
  8. Did I mention how much I love this book? Is Shark wearing a mini-skirt, MrBedrock? No wonder Brodie has to be the toughest fighter in the South Seas! ...Or is that Kinks Mason on the cover? Teasing aside, that's a beauty, alanna. A super Lou Fine cover on a HG Mile High pedigree. It doesn't get better than that! (thumbs u I imagine if you are strong enough to stop a speeding car while machine gun bullets bounce off of you you can wear anything you want to. Who's going to laugh? I'm pretty sure that those bullets are bouncing off the front of the sedan, away from Shark, but I'll give Brodie big points for nerves of steel and strength! He's tough (in grade, too), no doubt about that. Hey, he can wear a mini if he wants too with no beef from me! (thumbs u
  9. Just awesome. Yowzer; Billy snagged himself a nice droolworthy book. On the downside, it's whetting my appetite for more early Caps.

  11. Good call on No. 3 (it was a trick question with more than one correct answer), but Church preference is always a delicate issue on resumes. Your response to the second question may disqualify you on PC grounds unless that pole speech was at a NASCAR rally. Your response to the first question is just a bit too refined and sportsmanlike; I think I'll amend the application to include buckets of beer instead of water! Finally, the "Mr" before Bedrock sounds like an automatic disqualification to me, but I won't be judgmental, ...and no, I don't ascribe to the notion of "where there's a will, there's a way!"
  12. That's a tough call. The position you seek has long been filled; also, it's VERY gender specific. However, due to all of the interest I do keep applications on file. So, please indulge my asking a few relevant questions: 1. Have you recently competed in a contest involving water and tee shirts? 2. Have you recently performed on stage with a pole or finished with less on than when you started? 3. When asked about joining the Mile High club what is the first thing that pops into your mind? Looking forward to the resume!
  13. Billy, my favorite post-war MM only wins that classification on technical grounds... ...but one of my faves in the same vein as your book is the Photo Phantom issue (#83) which immediately follows your fave (right image in group shot).
  14. Yes siree; could not agree more! Classic Schomburg with all the right "elements" (bound beauty, hypodermic needle containing who knows what, wicked looking blades and gunplay). Fabulous cover. (thumbs u 71 is exceptional. but my very most favoriteist of the post-war cover mm's is: You're right, that'un is exceptionally tasty. I don't particularly care for HT's pose in #82, but who is looking at The Torch? Nice book, Billy!

  16. Yep, that's a beauty! I'm not quite sure why, but every time I look at that'un I think of Toy Story!
  17. Nice books, one and all! I suppose I should add these two voluptuous chickadees to the Fox hen-house... ...as PL's flirting with the Qualitys over in the GA only thread was making poor old Uncle Sam blush!
  18. nothing wrong with a crandall cover. in fact, it was the 18 that got me on the run to begin with. Beeee-eautiful Crandall books, Billy! (worship) I used to have an 18 in the VF/NM range that I regretted selling back in the dark days when I divested myself of my GA collection. Your awesome looking 8.0 just whets my appetite for reacquiring it. I really want to get a run of those Crandall Stormy Foster Hits in high grade ...well, with the possible exception of the awkward looking Gil Fox cover (#22) ...I'm sure that I'll snag that puppy too, but I may not be quite as concerned about grade.
  19. Love this one Billy! Checked back a few pages and couldnt see this one: Wow! Those are super nice Fine covers! At this point, I'm wondering if it's time for his understudy to step up to the plate? Ah, heck, why not give the kid a shot...
