1. One of the benefits of getting your hands on a high grade OO collection is that you get first dibs. I think I've done very well, having only pulled 13 books out of 250. AND I've avoided simply picking stuff up because of the grade, preferring to simply stick within my usual 9.0-9.4 range on title I like. Still managed to bag some goodies....
2. For a LCS, with the associated overheads that eBay sellers don't have to deal with, that is an excellent and fair price. Kudos to your LCS!
3. Between you and Greggy, you're going to ruin me... Hey, and top marks for the Nikster...an easier boarder to deal with I've yet to meet!
4. Been another good week on the unslabbed front...Kudos go to BK for a lovely box of stuff and Bob Storms for a gorgeous Strange Tales #157. Add in a few other books from other sources and I'm one happy camper!
5. Thanks, guys! Those TTAs were the highlight of a pretty good few days...love the old Giant-Man stuff. And those Grell GLs are tasty, Arex...never a big DC man, but always had a soft spot for GL.
6. OK, it's been a brilliant week for comics, with box after box arriving. However, it's probably not been a great week for matrimonial relations. I wonder if the two are related? Anyhoo, here's a few eBay puchases... And then we got this from Stronguy...thanks Jeff! ...followed by these three from blowout...top job, Lee! ...then of course, these ten beauties arrived this morning from the UK's own r100comics...cheers, Beltan! And to complete the day, TheKorvacSaga sent these stunners to me...once more, awesome deal, Rich!
7. Sweet, sweet books, Brad! And I need both of them....
8. My newest Northland, courtesy of The Korvac Saga. Thanks, Rich!!!
9. As a lot of you know, I've just picked up a whole load of DDs from Jeff Delaney, and got the opportunity to cherry-pick some beauts before selling on the rest. Thanks a lot, Jeff! And they all look bloody lovely in mylars!
10. Bob, X-Men #25 and #26 were both generally wrapped by chimps, I figure, so this one was a no-brainer when I saw the registration. And that FF #50 is frickin' gorgeous!
11. Thanks, matey! Is somebody asked what sort of books I look for, this one would be the perfect example. It's a NM- all day long (and would get a 9.4/9.6 if submitted by Brulato, Schmell or Heritage) with almost perfect registration and decent page quality. The fact that it was a Northland (I love those certificates!) just made it all the more sweet. Got a scan of the Cert? It sounds like the Cert is almost as cool as the book itself Yup! Here ya go....

13. In the mail today.... ...and then a bit more....
14. Been meaning to do this for a few weeks. These are some of the books I picked up in NYC on 14th Jan...nothing special, but decent copies. The marks on the top edge of all of them are actually from the scanner bed. Maybe I should buy another scanner instead of more books?
15. In my new pursuit of attempting to buy raw wherever I can, I got these in the mail today... ...and this one... ...and this one, which is an absolute [embarrassing lack of self control] to get with any sort of decent register on the spine... Major kudos go to Ted Vanliew at Superworld for turning up these beauties. Cheers, Teddie-Boy!
16. Absolute beaut! You got the COA with it, too?
17. Overdue kudos to a number of forumites... arexcrooke for deals goings both ways... sal for superfast payment on a number of books... GoodyRickles for another lightning payment... SilverSurfer for some lovely TOS... supapimp for a nice batch of books...and some quality freebies... DrBanner for acting as my US mailbox...top man, Mikey! rube11 for a good deal on a couple of beauties... CaptainsOfIndustry for a great, great batch of stuff... To all of you.... And if I've missed anyone...tough, my memory is [embarrassing lack of self control] and I apologise! Nick
18. Overdue thanks and a big to the following sterling chaps... Rocketeer for a batch of lovely books at a knock-down price. FFB for a high grade TTA Northland...with COA! namisgr for a beaut of a slabbed FF #41. Dr Banner for his usual accurately graded batch of stuff, including a couple of stunning X-Men! Paul_Maul for the most beautiful batch of raw Northland Adventure Comics...they really are quite stunning! HighVoltage and scrape1 for being pronto with payment and easy to deal with. If I've missed anyone, it's because you're a waste of space and the deal stunk! ...or because my memory isn't what it used to be...
19. Wanna sell it? That is frickin' gorgeous!
20. Sweet!!!! I have to agree that, where possible, I much prefer to buy pedigrees raw. Usually, the colour, gloss, page quality and overall feel of a recognised pedigree is far superior to another similarly graded book...but if it's in a slab, you simply don't get the benefit of those factors. A case in point...today in the post was a package received from our own Paul_Maul , containing 5 unslabbed issues of Adventure Comics from the Northland collection. These puppies were simply stunning (two of them have shots at 9.6, I reckon), but I'm not even going to consider slabbing them, because slipped inside a mylar, they take your breath away! If I can bear to handle them again, I might just scan them up.....
21. That was precisely what I was thinking, Bob. I was actually quite happy to go over $400, and bid accordingly, so was surprised to get it so low. Mind you, got to pay the international shipping...
22. Just won this one last night... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6535594790 Am pretty psyched about receiving it...Steranko, 9.4, OW/W, Northland...what's not to love? And I think the price was pretty good, too.
23. I know...that was what got me so psyched! The seller informs me that it is actually as good as it looks on the scan, with the wrap perfect to the millimetre.
