  1. Yeah.. Cards are going crazy right now. I am sitting on the sidelines of the card hobby for a while...I think now is a good time to sell cards- not good time to buy.
  2. I am only a casual follower of sports cards, but it seems like cards of all sports are lately blowing up way more than comics ... not sure why this is.
  3. The high grade stuff has blown up within the past year... I haven't seen this transcend comics or other hobbies to that extent over the past year.
  4. I know this is the wrong forum but was just wondering if anyone in the know can shed some light on this ... I was surfing sold EBay auctions and it looks like all graded cards in all sectors have really jumped in prices. What’s going on?
  5. The Detectives and Batmans in this auction are really impressive. Does anyone know Alfred Pennyworth and why he's selling? I have heard of him, but I don't know him personally. I thought he was a boardie.. would love to hear from him about this collection.
  6. The Sup 1 you are referring to might be the green label married book that sold two weeks ago through HA. Sup 1s have been actually been more readily available in recent years compared to 5-10 years ago. The prices on Sup 1s have been flat or down lately.
  7. No. Those are not my books. I’m not selling... (Not sure why they are being touted as #1 set.) But I know the seller. Josh got a great consignment.
  8. I sent in two books via walk through CGC/CCS.... I elected to have them "pre-screened". How long does it take for a walk through take to get pre-screened?
  9. I saw a GA book in an original label holder (from about 2003-2004) that had notes on the label "slightly rusty staples"... If the book was sent in for a reholder service, would the new label still state the "slightly rusty staples"?
  10. I believe this book was previously a 9.2. Still a few 9.2 and 9.0 #14s left that could get a promotion...
  11. I never really understood what Superman was doing there...
  12. CGCdata.com supports my assertions... Plenty of examples there...
  13. I think we have to look at the inevitability of this business model. It's a lesson in economics... Would you pay money to have your books pressed to achieve a lower grade? Would you pay lots of money for that book to be pressed and regraded to a higher grade? I know this has been discussed over and over. But the explosion of 9.8s (previously a very difficult grade to achieve) has prompted me to start to question this whole thing again. And a very telling observation: The majority of these new 9.8s showing up are not new to market 9.8s. Last decade's 9.4 is yesterday's 9.6 and today's 9.8. And I don't think it has anything to do with CGC's lax grading. As collectors, investing in having your books pressed must yield dividends for this business model to work.
  14. Has anyone noticed the increasing amount of 9.8 GA books being churned out of the CGC machine lately? Frankly it’s an obvious trend. 9.4s that were pressed 5-10 years ago to 9.6s are getting “pressed” again and magically becoming 9.8s. Paying a premium for (even rare) single highest graded GA is a sure way to lose money... I’m finally seeing collectors catch on to this. Lots of newly minted 9.8s these days...
  15. Welcome back.. It's been a while. Didn't you sell an Action 1 in 6.5 about a decade ago? What you been up to??
  16. There is a small picture of the Action 1 floating around somewhere. I believe it has "Church" written on the front...
  17. Circumstances, When did you pick up that beauty? Do you have a story behind that book? Is it unrestored? ... would love to hear. Clark
  18. Hawkeye copy. Stunning book. $5000 shipped money order or checks only.
