  1. If I find a non glossy copy in the dollar bin I immediately drop it in disgust and pour a bottle of sanitizer on my hands.
  2. Nice find. So glossy is the rare one. I'm off to check my copy.
  3. Got this off eBay, hasn't arrived yet. Any idea what's up with the cover? Only paid $4 so I figure I'd take a chance.
  4. I have to disagree with Stan the Man Lee. If race isn't an integral part of the character (like Black Panther or Captain Britian) then what's the harm in casting the best actor regardless of race. Samuel L Jackson has done a great job as Nick. Most of these characters were originally made white by default, all we are asking is when bringing them to life in film and television, to add some real life diversity as well. I don't think you caught the gist of what the man said. He said whatever race or creed the character is created from it shouldn't be changed for that specific character. Meaning consistency which is lacking in the big 2 moderns last 10 plus years. Yeah sure, now that all the good ideas are taken and cast white.

  6. 100% true story, this literally happened 2-hours ago; On the A-train heading uptown and I'm overhearing a mother in her late twenties talking with her son whose about 10. The boy is asking his mom if they are making Spider-Man 3. Mom says they are making a new movie with a new Peter Parker and she follows up by saying how they messed up and should have used the new Spider-Man from the comics because it'll be something different. I would have hugged her but this is New York
  7. The vast majority amount of people who will see the movie, and any Marvel movie, never heard of Miles Morales. Peter Parker is who they expect to see when they plunk down their $15 for a ticket Sony / Disney woon't slit their throats financially to please the hashtaggers They may have to ease into it like they seem to be doing with Winter Soldier as Cap.
  8. Would the blogosphere be happier with a robot version? You tell me;
  9. "The actor who will be playing the new Spider-Man was finally announced Tuesday, and while some fans were enthused by the pick of Brit Tom Holland, others were disappointed that the world was getting yet another white male superhero. This may not just be idle online griping. Unlike with, say, Superman or Daredevil, a more racially diverse alternative to Peter Parker/Spider-Man does exist in print. He’s Miles Morales, a half-black, half-Latino teenager who first appeared in 2011." http://nypost.com/2015/06/24/is-the-new-spider-man-the-wrong-race/
  10. I could stand Peter in a team film like Avengers, but the idea of Aunt May and MJ and Osborn already has me bored.
  11. Sweet, time to get these submitted then... NICE! Be sure to list them all at once so I can get a good deal on a 9.8
  12. The last 9.8 sold for $350, none left on eBay.
  13. Agreed, that's Peter and that's fine. What would have been messed up is if the email said, "He can be named either Peter Parker or Miles Morales, but he must be played by a Caucasian actor."
  14. "And if we’re lucky, Marvel’s movies, which are currently lagging far behind when it comes to diversity, will soon mirror their comic counterparts." It's Officially Official: The Main Spider-Man Is Miles Morales, A Biracial Teen From Brooklyn
  15. Hey, I found that comic you wanted! Thor #137 ~ Thunder God and the Troll
  16. "Spider-Man will continue to be portrayed as Peter Parker in the upcoming Marvel film due to be released in 2017, but the new comic book casting will raise hopes that Miles Morales may get his big screen debut soon." http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/news/miles-morales-to-replace-peter-parker-as-first-black-spiderman-in-marvel-comics-10336153.html
  17. Damn, best price on ebay now for a 9.8 is $350. This was literally $200 less 48 hrs ago. Crazy hobby.
  18. All of the 1st print were polybaggged. You may have a 2nd print which has a very similar cover. 1st print has Miles face in shadow, 2nd print shows his face very clearly.
  19. 9.8 was $150 last night, now it's $250. Give it a few months and watch them skyrocket when folks catch on how rare 9.8s are due to polybag process. I had 30 sealed copies and the best I got was a 9.4. There's a reason why the census on this book has so many 9.6, 9.4 in relation to 9.8. I just opened 4 copies that where in the poly bag still and everyone has front and back cover dings. really shocked and kinda dont wanna open anymore of my stash, I was about to prep them for to send out for SS now dunno if i want to. I hear you, and it's very hard to tell what you have until you open those polybags. After almost 4-years there are only 89 9.8s, meanwhile Edge of Spider-Verse #2 is at 736 in a little over 6 months.

  21. http://m.nydailynews.com/entertainment/marvel-inclusion-biracial-spider-man-article-1.2265591 Parker Industries? Has Peter sold out? Terrible logo.
