  1. Maybe if he was doing cons and I could get it subbed and slabbed.
  2. Well there are maybe 5 others that I am interested in for these WD #100 sketches but damn with what these are going for I really think the money may be better spent spreading it around at upcoming cons on sketches on 109 blanks. Still shocked at what Ottley went for. Not shocked that some of these are going for under $500 and even under $400. Should have got some of those friendly bets in, damn work had me away from the PC to make it happen.
  3. Yup, when I bid about $900 I knew I had zero chance at it. This was the one I wanted the most. Crazy what these are going for. I would rather not get one than just settle for a crappy one for $400 to $600. I may just focus my $1000 on getting artists I want to do sketches on the 109 blank instead.
  4. I just think the majority of people want a Universal more than they want an SS. A blue 9.0 (yes 9.0) went for $1100 in the May MCS auction. I believe it was a boardie's, too (thumbs u http://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=24309311&AffID=798679P01 If you look at their sales data, Sig Series go for less in the same grade. I can totally understand this, as I'd personally prefer to own a copy that didn't have any marker on it. They don't. GPA is very clear on this ... across the board, SS copies of WD sell for more than their blue label counterparts. The MCS auctions are always hit & miss - sometimes they break records left & right, other times it's steals galore. But their auctions aren't representative of the market as a whole. Neither is that $1,300 9.4 sale, for that matter. Yup, an SS book will go for more 9 out of 10 times compared to the blue label counterpart.
  5. Great time of the year to be a buyer in auctions for The Walking Dead. Horrible time of the year to be the seller. I am only doing BIN or Best Offers until the show is back up.
  6. I haven't been able to see sold listings for a few days now. They changed the site.. I'm not sure how to do it anymore At least for me it went from being in the drop down box at the top right to now being in a column over on the far left side of the page. You may have to mess around with the left side to find it under completed listings but it is there. This is kind of the old school layout for completed listings.
  7. Does CGC grades these leniently? It would be disappointing to go the graded route and have it come back something crazy low like 8.5 or so. Why would it be disappointing? These are all about the uniqueness, right? Yeah the grade doesn't matter on these at all. Kind of like with a Sayger sketch.
  8. Is that 4 of them that I am seeing that ended for under $500 already? Yeah the Ottley is #1 on my want list, I passed on this round of 10 and have a high number in mind for the Ottley to bid but I won't go a grand on just one of these unless it was say Neal Adams or someone of that caliber.
  9. If you buy one of these from Hero Initiative instead of donating to a charity, I wouldn't count on getting any deduction, if that type if thing matters to you. Usually, you have to reduce your contribution by anything you receive in return. Comic was 2.99 cover. Might be able to pull that off. These HI Blanks for #100 have no cover price that points to them being $2.99. Pretty sure if you got audited by the IRS trying to claim that you are gonna lose horribly. Unless HI is willing to give you a receipt claiming you made a straight donation and in return they gave you this little ole comic that isn't worth much of anything.
  10. Kind of sad to see the #1 on my list is part of the new group of 10. Was hoping it would be a bit later in the groups that way some of the hotheads get their crazy dumb bidding out of the way on the first 50 or so of these. Happy to at least see this group of 10 is setup for 7 day auctions though and not 10 day auctions like the first lot.
  11. Yeah this is the best approach. I think with an item like this it is crazy to bid high and early on it. Wait until they day they are ending to hit them with bids right before they end. I like that Lashley cover a lot also, but it just wouldn't present well in the CGC case since all the key players are on the back cover.
  12. Hope you win it sir. I am interested in about 10 different ones, but none of them really in this round of 10. The problem I am gonna have is I set aside $1000 to hopefully get 1 maybe 2 of these when it is all said and done but other things keep popping up that I want and I don't know if I will stay strong and not touch this money until it is time to spend it on these books. I already dipped into it a little for the George R.R. Martin Sig Opp to get a Game of Thrones book done but I just sold one of my WD books signed by Danai Gurira to put that money back into the pot. Also to add the one up in this round from Kristin Allen and John Beatty look like they have solid shots of not going over $500. In my opinion neither one really should but we will see.
  13. Chris (Mangbus) you are the man when it comes to cover recreations sir. Anyone have a #33 2nd printing you might be interested in selling? Want to have the above hanging up on the wall with my #33 9.8 1st Printing signed by Danai Gurira and would love to get the #33 2nd printing signed by David Morrissey.
  14. Does on-site grading include insta-slab? It seems like those Philly WDs were slabbed before the body was cold and I don't think I've seen such turnaround so quickly before in my limited paying attention. Yup, first people to sub books say early in the morning were able to I believe get them back later that night or the following morning to flood eBay with them. At this point the best bet is to just wait a few months, let the market get flooded and then buy these graded if you really want one of each. I will be at the Columbus, OH and the Nashville, TN Wizard World shows trying to snag a bunch of raw copies on the cheap to get signed and subbed. Would love to work out some sort of trade for the other copies to get them also signed/subbed in exchange for some of these.
  15. Want to do a friendly wager that at least 1 of them goes for less than $500? You must really be a gambling man, because those are some tough odds there! I have a hard time believing any of them will sell for under $500, specially after the Albuquerque cover which was "meh" sold for over $500! I hope they do, because I'd love to score at least one, but I just don't see it happening. Now that all the covers are up, and people are more aware of how they are being sold/auctioned off this is why I don't see them all going for $500+ a pop.

  17. Well with a baby on the way I am gonna be strapped for cash, do I sell my Crime Suspenstories #22 CGC 4.0 to fund possibly one or two of these or do I hold onto it? Anyone interested in my first born for a WD #100 sketch or two?
  18. Here is what I would be interested in. December 8th 1981. Anything possibly with a combo of month/day/year, month/day or month/year.
  19. Looks like I may have to bow out of bidding on any of the WD #100 Hero Initiative sketches. Just found out the wife is pregnant with our first little one. There goes all my spending money for the year.
  20. Supply has caught up with demand - if they listed them for $300, they wouldn't sell Maybe and maybe not. I was at the con and saw a ton of them being tossed around, thumbed through, crammed back into the swag bags they gave you. Also its strange that the portland one keeps climbing on the raws and the slabs are still selling higher. The market just became flooded with 9.8s of this book. I feel lucky to have gotten what I did last week for one on eBay. Had it sitting for almost a week at a BIN or best offer and was happy to run with the best offer received. This will be a $100 book at 9.8. Almost looks like there are twice as many of these in circulation compared to the Portland book, if not more hence the difference in price.
  21. For your sake and mine I hope you are way off here. I am really hoping we see a decent amount of these go for $250 to $500 once they all start getting posted to eBay. I am interested to know who all will be bidding on these, this way as a board we can get an idea of who we are up against. I dont think any will go for less than $1000 dude however much I would want them too Stupid people on ebay will bid them up so much But hey what the hell they're for charity right? The two are already up are at $150 and $300 and theres still 9 days to go on them so I don't think I'm gonna go for either of them they are going to be releasing ten a week though from June time so hopefully when they become a bit more regular they might go for a bit less would love to bag one of them would be soooo awesome I am willing to place some friendly wagers that every single one of these will not go above $1000. Hell lay me some odds and I might even take that a few go for less than $500 when it is all said and done.

  23. And stop threatening me Punk... How is that a threat? You offered money for information, you were given that information, you've decided not to pay the charity of my choice. 30 days - June 17 2013 is d day. He is looking for the person who owns the #1 10.0 1st printing from what I have read. How do you not understand or comprehend this? If you sent him Jeff's name then you sent him the wrong info. How about throwing yourself on the list.
  24. Just got in my books from ECCC. Thanks again Jake. I may have some signed 9.8s for sale later tonight. Stuff signed by Michonne herself, Danai Gurira.
  25. She is fing crazy. Sorry but I would rather spend a grand on OA from Adlard at this point then on a single commission from Moore.
