  1. Can't win a USPS insurance claim when it shows delivered.
  2. Thankfully this is the only fail on behalf of the USPS for the month. I was really worried with a shipment to CGC of a few grand of books that took 6 days to go the last 20 miles to CGC's post office box. That was finally delivered and received/checked in by CGC.
  3. Just a heads up to any boardies in the Kentucky area. If you see this book pop up it was stolen off my damn porch (or by the mailman). CGC Cert# 0208343011 Tracking says it was delivered on April 1st to my address here in Louisville but I was leaving for work at the exact time it was checked delivered and there was no mailman in sight. My guess is it was misdelivered and no one has handed it back over to USPS to correctly deliver, or even worse my Mailman stole it but from speaking with him I don't think he would be the type to do this. Would he be the type to misdeliver it and then not admit it, yeah this is more likely or he scanned it delivered, put it on my porch sometime after I left for work and someone going door to door walked off with it. I will be watching eBay to see if it ever pops up along with the local shops but my guess is if some hood rat walked off with it once they opened it and noticed it wasn't something easy to flip they tossed it in a dumpster.
  4. So this crazy caller on Talking Dead, I am laughing my off at comments about it over on some other boards but no one posted what he or she said. Can someone highlight this for me, I was watching Game of Thrones with the wife so I missed it.
  5. I think Andrea being killed off in this manner is still all based on Holden being pissed about the whole Darabont thing that went down with AMC. I actually enjoyed this a whole hell of alot. Gonna be interesting seeing the Governor heading in a whole different direction for a final confrontation that will be nothing like the comics.
  6. Yeah things are going great. Not a fan of any of the LCS they don't really seem to order much of anything Image related so no love when it comes to speculating locally. With what the 9.9 went for on CC I wouldn't be shocked if you could get $3K+ out of your copy. That would be one hell of a return on investment.
  7. Hey Dre, If you ever start taking new subscribers I am interested in just getting in for The Walking Dead. Also will you have any of the above books for sale if you have extras?
  8. Good luck getting Cliff. Does he even go to cons at all anymore?
  9. depends on who you ask. Most would say no. if one collects Walking Dead Floppies, how can they not own it? or at least want to? Depends on how many completists there are. I love the walking dead, but I will never go out of my way to get a second printing of any book from the run. I just want first printings. Then again, I don't like variants either, unless I'm buying them to read the book. No incentive if the cover is different but the interior content is the same. I understand it as a second print to initially get more people to jump on board and read the series, but I seriously question the degree of collectibility in something like that. With all the artificial collectibility there is in comics, chasing after some second print of a book I already have the first print of seems ... silly. Ok fair enough Phil. I only have one question though if you don't mind. If you do collect WD books, which of the covers did you choose from issue #100? You are not a true Walking Dead collector until you have all the covers signed by Kirkman, Adlard and the cover artist in 9.8 Sig Series. So far have the big ones with McFarlane, Ottley and Silvestri. Gonna add Kirkman and Adlard to a signed Quietly and will be picking up a Hitch one this con season. So who has a 3x Sean Phillips one for me?
  10. Get that junk out of here. You get any crazy offers for that yet? You need to consign it over to one of the big auction houses.
  11. Even though they both have the same date in them I am pretty sure the blue copies didn't hit stores until at least 4 to 8 weeks after the first printing. My LCS at the time got in 2 2nd printings well after the 1st printing came out.
  12. Question for you guys that went to Wizard World St. Louis or have copies of the Walking Dead #1 variant from St. Louis already. Did they have some sort of production flaw running down the front cover from top to bottom about 1 mm away from the right side that caused the covers to not lay truly flat? Not quite a crease but heading in that direction?
  13. Is the only 9.8 of 108 to sell on eBay then from you? If so I have to ask WTF happen with getting or subbing a ECCC Foil Governor variant and getting a 9.2 on it? Did it get damaged in route to CGC or something? Back to issue #108, all 5 stores in my area have multiple copies in stock. I picked up just 2 NM+ copies at 15% below cover. Should I go back and buy them all out? Dude I don't know what happened with that book. Here's what went down: 1 week before MegaCon, I was shopping with my girl, this was during the weekend of ECCC, and I found a guy on the bay, who while at ECCC, had listed 1 green foil for $80 free shipping on his phone. He was the cheapest at that time. So I got it. When it got delivered I put on gloves and pulled it out carefully, because all the black I didn't want prints on it. The book was immaculate!!! So I personally drove it to MegaCon and subbed it myself on Friday. Then on Sunday when I got the book and grade back it was a 9.2. I was shocked just as you are. And of course I don't think there were graders notes. They were so busy at the CGC booth that I didn't have it in me to ask. So I sold it o the bay, actually just got positive feedback for it being delivered today. And no that 108 9.8 that's currently on the bay is not mine. So I don't know what happened with that green foil, maybe it got damaged on the ride back to Sarasota. Can you see any visible damage to the outside of it at all? Maybe the book had some sort of inside damage, did you flip through it? I saw some of these that had inside pages with corners folded over.

  15. Good to hear. Now when can we expect grading to not be so damn tight?
  16. Not the right spot for that but thanks for the heads up What is the point in sending a #1 in to CGC that is in 7.0 condition? Seems beyond stupid.
  17. The amount of money to get something like this done is just scary. My Walking Dead #1 full size print from Tony Moore is shaping up to eventually have more sigs on it I am at around 14 cast members so far and have already spent a ton on the sigs.
  18. Damn good episode. Loved the fact that Meryl had a change of heart and did the right thing for once.
  19. I saw a guy pulling a bunch of those out yesterday morning....he had a ton of #100 When I looked at the box the guy had when the show first opened up it gave me nightmares of me preselling the 1200+ copies and I just wanted to get away from the box as quickly as possibly. Later around 2PM he had put some more out and still had roughly 30 sets worth of them between what was out and what he had in another box. I considered buying them all since I figured I could double my money or better but again the nightmares came back. I ended up just grabbing a couple of the Ottley #100 covers that were NM+ in case I decide to get Danai Gurira to sign some more copies for me later in this con season.
  20. I didn't know The Walking Dead issues #97 to say 103 were still selling so damn well on eBay. Out at Gem City Comic Con there was a dealer with half a long box of these trying to move them at a $1 a piece. Had probably 30 or so sets still left of at least issue #97 up to 101.
  21. Besides Merle dying, I think you just predicted the end of season 4. You do realize this is STILL season 3, right? I heard they are gonna flashback to the first half of mid season and continue the search for Sophia. Expect the first 10 episodes of season 4 to cover the search. This is due to all the complaints from the fans that they just didn't spend enough time really looking for Sophia.
  22. Did you see the cover for St. Louis? It's my favorite cover in a LONG time. http://www.geeksofdoom.com/2013/03/22/get-the-arthur-suydam-cover-for-the-walking-dead-1-at-wizard-world-st-louis Thanks to Menace I will have one of these Sig Series signed by the artist. I agree that neither cover so far has impressed me at all though. I want the Portland one but not sure if I want to try to get one raw or just pay out to get a 9.8 SS copy once they start to hit the market.
  23. Damn you Greg Nicotero. He just cancelled for being at the Horrorhound Cincinnati this weekend. Thought his sig would have looked bad on a WD #69 cover. I am guessing at least 2 other WD cast members will end up not making it by the time the show starts, never fails.
  24. Ok so most people don't care for the idea of Rooker/Reedus signing any comics. Well how about for the actors who play Lori (Callies) or Hershel (Wilson) what Walking Dead comics would you think would be the sweetest ones to be signed and Sig Series?
