  1. Absolutely the fastest payment i've ever received. Excellent communication - serious comic book guy! MattP
  2. A big day of news for ROM - check it out: ROM helps Bill
  3. No, they don't. They own the Dire Wraiths, Spaceknights, Galador ..etc. Essentially the rest of the ROM universe except for ROM. Parker Brothers (division of Hasbro) still retains the rights. BUT, and here's a BUT, rumors are circulating that Disney may make a bid for Hasbro acquisition. Edit: Disney is looking to grab Habro and Mattel for $4B - as of April 2014. So ... Disney owns Hasbro (Parker Bros) and Marvel... ROM may, in fact, return.
  4. "Is this just a big mistake? Seems odd Hasbro would goof up like that." I see this two ways - (1) They're just associating this ROM toy with their other Mighty Muggs to increase sales using brand leverage (i.e. Avengers) or (2) they may be actually interested in seeing if ROM has marketability. Obviously, i don't have visibility into Mighty Muggs market demographics or what sales are, but I do find it interesting that they even revived ROM (in this form) at this time. Funny, i've been having a feeling that something *may* be happening within the next few years surrounding the Spaceknights. With GoG and the Avengers having mentioned or had dealings with the Dire Wraiths (at least in the comics), it could set well for a plot line in a future production.
  5. I guess that we, as Rom fans, should be glad that he's back in some form but that toy looks just awful. It`s a start. We should all probably remember that ROM started out as a toy, the comic followed. The toy tanked but the run was successful. Hopefully, history will repeat itself with a new run and a movie.
  6. Yeah... You should probably sell this. To me. Now. (*waves hand in ol' Jedi mind trick*)
  7. Well done! Very nice centering too...
  8. I guess that settles it then. He returns as a silly toy... There is no justice in this world anymore. I quit.
  9. That would be pretty cool And stinky.
  10. Hasbro still owns the rights to ROM Spaceknight although IDW has been trying to bring him back. Here is a quote from IDW Editor Chris Ryall (posted to John Bryne's message board in March 2013) ... "I have never been able to unlock the rights to Rom Spaceknight, despite years of trying, and Michael Golden’s Micronauts and Brian Bolland’s Camelot 3000 pages have been scattered to the four corners, so no Artist’s Edition of those yet. But I don’t give up easily." This being said, we know that Disney owns Marvel. And Hasbro makes several toys for Marvel and Star Wars. Rumors abound about a possible acquisition of Hasbro by Disney which would *hopefully* bring the rights to our beloved Spaceknight back under one roof. Personally, i would *spoon* my pants if at the end of Avengers 2 or 3, ROM steps out onto earth from a meteor impact. I just would.
