  1. GPA is just like overstreet it has its applications and its downfalls. Anyone that uses GPA like the be all and end all source are the same as the guys who pound their chest saying OS says . It is a tool to look at a SMALL data set, at one given frozen period of time (but of course I don't need to tell you this cause you understand that already).
  2. Just accept that you are a "rando" dealer Bob
  3. If that's your showcase 4...I guess that must be my Action 252
  4. I list with a template and may not remember to adjust shipping. That said is 0.033% of the purchase price really gunna prevent you from buying it
  5. You should buy them all up and then sell them to these USA guys at $1 USD each .
  6. I didn't see the 1.8. I'm sure you'll take anything I have to say with any respect I'm just a "rando" dealer. Venue? Timing? Presentation? Bin? Auction? So many variables but you'll continue to push your agenda on the PQ and what not so have at it
  7. $8500. Much lower than recent 3.0 sale of $12,755 and 2.0 sale of $9250.

  9. @Jaydogrules You replied to this? I don't see it but ok. So you trust a private dealer that reports to GPA behind closed doors but don't trust a private dealer that doesn't report to GPA. You do know that there isn't a way to look at a sale and find its source without hopefully being in HA archives or CC newsletter. So did that "sale" reported on GPA come from ebay? was it shilled? can you be sure since the sale is 6 months old? Did the sale come from one of the several private dealers that report to GPA? Do you know all of the parameters around the sale? Do you know if there was any trade involved? Any discounting for future considerations/bulk purchases? Do you know if the sale actually happened or the dealer just reported the sale to GPA (maybe they were buying it out of their own inventory and wanted to make a chart buster) ? Have you sourced all of the sales you are discussing by contacting George? Haha scrutiny so when a private sale happens and reported to GPA do you get to see the buyer? Nope its a private sale that was logged and sent to GPA. Continue to try.
  10. One can't "look" at GPA from a year ago and determine even where the sale even took place let alone bidder history. You do know that some private sellers report to GPA right? Guess that throws out the private sales and GPA right out the window. Not only can no one look at the history of the buyer/dealer...but guess what that data point on GPA 3 months later might not have even happened on an auction house Wonder what data we can use then to support any claims in the hobby.
  11. Only public sales count cause you know the constant claims of shill bidding and other similar shenanigans what not make it a much more viable option than a sale that did in fact happen I love how much you disagree with everything in this hobby J.
  12. If you aren't submitting a whack of books why is paying $40 worth it? That 10% off takes a while to make up the cost. Are you submitting more than a few books at a time? Don't forget shipping to CGC and shipping back from CGC. Shipping only a couple of bucks and you'll pay more than if you sub through a LCS. Are you a competent packer, know how to do the paperwork and ensure nothing goes wrong on route? If not paying a couple of bucks for someone to do it for you sounds like a good win to me.
  13. Looks like the not so nice 2.5 with not so nice PQ also received a not so nice price.
  14. You claim to have not received a 7.5k book. Though your signature and tracking line up with the box. I claim to have sent a 7.5k book with tracking and signature (that you've signed for). How does one quickly respond to that? Answer: They don't. Police reports are required. Likely an investigation. Likely several phone calls. We aren't talking about a seller that is just accepting a return. Nope they are going to fight to keep the money tied up for a long as possible. Heck they've likely cleaned out the paypal account. Wonder if ebay (or paypal) would gladly swallow a pill of 7.5k cause you and the seller can't agree if you received the book (I highly doubt it...else individuals would take advantage of this with their "buddies").
  15. Haha and this is why scammers do it. I'd rather not spend a month fighting with eBay (when they sent a box with a $10 cgc slab) saying it was the wrong book and when ebay sides with them cause they show tracking, signature and USPS shows that the box weights and dimensions line up. Then you go to your CC and spend another month fighting with them trying to prove a case that they sent you a junk book and not the book worth the 4 figures they were supposed to. Finally after 2 months and several phone calls of yelling and screaming your CC refunds you and ebay locks you out of your account. Ya I'd like to play that game too why don't you just send me $7500 and after 2 months I'll return it.
  16. Oh I don't disagree with you at all on the above. I wouldn't consign a book to a dealer if they just sold it to me as a 3.5 with ow/w and it comes back a 2.5 with LT/OW pages without there being something behind the scenes. I'd find another dealer to work with on the transaction (just my ).
  17. Thinking out loud ... owner bought it from Sparkle and was disappointed with the grade so they agreed to auction it off for them to hopefully reduce any negative feelings. I know if I bought a raw book from a dealer and it came back a full point lower I wouldn't be handing it over to them for sale without some sort of "extra" negotiation.
  18. Those two raw copies did not sell. I did sell a CGC NM #87 9.6 on Sunday and Eric sold the other guys 9.4 of #87 Jim Which end
  19. Im sorry I didn't have much time to photograph and there was just too many ppl digging maybe next time I'll take better pictures .
  20. Right! I'm hopeful they'll put me where I need to be especially since I requested to be by Andy and take over the booth location of one of the comic vendors not returning.
