  1. I disagree with the comment about how a show that features 5 comic dealers and lasts for 3 days can possibly be better than single day show at a smaller venue. You admitted that show was not as good as last year. Its my opinion that this show has gotten worse yearly since the very first show a steady decline. As much as I love comic books buffalo in my opinion cannot support more than 1 days shows and wasting more than more than a 1/2hr of time and 30+ $ The weather in buffalo was absolutely wonderful today. Thank you blowie for your report glad I didn't waste my time or money again at a D & A event.
  2. james thank you for saving me a lot of grief and $7k that is why I appreciate this site so much. much more expertise than I certainly have.
  3. I emailed the seller requesting a pic of the centerfold and staples in the center of the book and have not heard back yet from him. still have some interest in this book but still unsure how ebay protection would work if it needed to be sent outn for grading to determine if original how long I would have to be able to return the book if it was deemed reproduction. I know book would get a restored label as seller has disclosed some restoration but reproduction is what I would be concerned with
  4. parusing EBAY I came across this book https://www.ebay.com/itm/264278995634?ul_noapp=true 27 watchers no bids great looking book, Messaged the seller and responded lightning fast absolutely guarantees the book to be original cover/staples/book. red flags on this one to me are: limited ebay transactions in the past 3 mos. nothing as a seller. statement that he bought this for more than what he is selling for if you are looking to maximize profit why not get the book graded so you know exactly what you are selling with buyer protection unsure if you are able to take the time to get the book graded and if not as he states repo cover etc can you return the item hoping to get other peoples feelings on this one please discuss

  9. So dormian any updates on the next part of the purchase or additional pics on what this portion of the lot includes. Too much mud slinging otherwise like to get this topic back on track
  10. I am torn between atta boy and you should be ashamed of yourself. On one hand the seller set the terms before the Dormian and his associate even looked at the books. Dormian and his partner merely followed the rules that were set up buy the seller. More than likely 99% of us would have jumped at the opportunity to do the same thing. As long as he was buying runs and not individual books from runs he followed the rules set up by the seller. In this case congratulations you got a windfall. is it up to the buyer to educate the seller how much he is leaving on the table in my opinion no again but to make plans on doing this again is probably what I have an issue with the most. This is a co-worker of yours and more than likely someone you’ve known for a while for crying out loud. This boarders on taking advantage of this “friend” again I would have taken them all and deal with the junk myself and not leave the seller to clean up the mess. i’d at Least waited till I was done with the deal to make this a topic of discussion but it keeps my interest for sure
  11. In a 60 long box run there are bound to be several long boxes of stock that are going to be absolute Drek. But from the sounds of things this collection was not cherrypicked. Bagged boarded books from a personal collection, that are being purchased buy a seller who has the ability to set up at local shows in his area. The OP goes with a friend who knows comics as well and states that the OP has probably understated was purchased and a buyer comes out with a measly 20% of what was available is nothing short of foolish. To consider cherry picking or going thru a collection once you saw the money books that were purchasing is insulting to the person trying to sell this lot and if time constraint was the issue once you took a glance at what you were buying you could have loaded up the truck with the long boxes after paying for them and been on your way. i guess I fall into the buy buy buy you fool crowd but I have never felt like organizing a comic collection to be work but something I really enjoy just my 2 cents
  12. So let me get this straight, 2 guys who know Comics have the opportunity to purchase 60 long boxes of comics for somewhere around 12-$1500, and you walk away with 11boxes of books. If the stuff is as good as it sounds you have left a seversl thousand$$$ unclaimed. This guy may be nice and willing to wait but the minute I saw Adam Hughes catwomans and Batman runs / detectives i’d Have had my wallet out and had 60 long boxes on my way home You had two guys who know Comics. One of the 2 is setting up at 2 shows and you leave 49 boxes untouched seems a bit far fetched the comic community is smaller the you think so you should probably keep this to yourself until you have the deal completed oh wait you put it out there on a comic collector web site. Good luck
  13. 10 cents per book equates to $35-40 per long box. 60 long boxes of all bagged/boarded, organized stuff $1900-$2400 ask, sounds like a no brainer to me. You said this is a co worker correct. Leaving them with 45 long boxes of drek even in runs is not something that will keep you on good terms with this person down the road in my opinion. There are some very cool runs of books adam hughes catwomans are always popular Batmans from 400-700 have some very nice books, detective towards the end of vol 1 871-881 sell all day long flash 197 (zoom) is always a hot title. As I say no brainer indeed. I'd be all over a deal like this one bags and boards are probably several hundred dollars on their own. Good luck with this purchase wish all deals were this easy
  14. price reduction first $125 delivered (to the cont USA) gets this nice group of books
  15. up for sale is my Marvel Super-Heroes 1-12 including the Iconic issue #8 (black costume Spider-Man) I would grade these out at nothing less than VF and though raw I would say the issue #8 is a NM copy. I am looking for $150 delivered (to the cont USA). on this group of books via boxed flat rate priority I can send some scans within reason of these books if you have serious interest.
  16. added some full size scans for the 71 and 72 minor non color breaking stress lines (2) on the front cover of the 72 and 1 on the 71 not that I believe these need pressing but I really think with some small tweaking these would grade a minimum of 9.6 or better. all lie flat razor sharp corners, white pages a really nice group of books and I believe priced fairly.
  17. I would be willing to break up the lot into 3 parts issues 61-65 for $75, 66-70 for $100 and 71 & 72 for $125.
  18. now open to reasonable offers, how about a package deal for both of my lots peter porker and TMNT adventures?? both lots are full of books in great shape
