  1. That's some bad lighting on her upper lip. Or is it?
  2. This. While I'm sure it's not what they wanted, I can't help but feel Boseman's tragic passing relieved Marvel from having to think up a way to write him out in order to promote his inevitable (and probably superior) replacement. I like Namor's character, but the ankle wings were difficult (for me) to accept in the comics, and on some level I always just 'went with it'. I didn't watch the trailer, but it doesn't take much imagination to visualize them flapping. I don't think it will be as easy for me to just 'go with it' without a chuckle or two, which is kinda funny in itself since I'd probably resent it if they chose to clip them. I haven't watched SNL since shortly after Hartman was murdered, but when I think of the ankle-wings the first thing that comes to mind is a parody skit.
  3. Agreed. I saw a page from an issue. I rolled my eyes at that one too. She just couldn't find the inspiration to become someone unless a certain type of person made a victim out of her, and when it wasn't forthcoming, she practically demands to be made a victim. By a certain type of person.
  4. The expressions on their faces say, "Ew, did that steamy pile come out of me??"
  5. I found a 2nd copy in one of my boxes recently
  6. These are (fuzzy pics of) original design art for Disney pins, purchased from Mike Royer. I already have #8 & #9 of the "12 Days..." set. So far, I've only been able to find pins for #7 & #9, and a variation of #8.
  7. I really wish someone would have thought up a better way to differentiate these books. A big red stamp would be preferable to this.
  8. I always thought it was funny that there was more paint on his face than his brush.
  9. We saw it last Saturday. We were entertained. I doubt I'll watch it again any time soon, but I didn't hate it. Milo was too predictable. Martine's (that was her name, right?) fate made my eyes roll. Leto definitely looked like Morbius vamped out. I appreciated the little detail that he became a "vampire" while at sea. They didn't need to do that, and even though it really doesn't matter, it was nice to see that connection to the actual origin. I found the bat scenes amusingly ironic ('The Joker' actor looking like Nolan's Bruce Wayne), but had to laugh (unamusingly) at how many he suddenly had at his disposal. The number in that chamber was a fraction of the number he summoned. Unless they were locals. I'm glad it was filmed before the current formula was put into place. Nice to see a Marvel product that wasn't trying to lecture me in some way. However...
  10. I appreciate your sacrifice, truly. I stopped at ep2 and have since dropped D+, but after reading your review I still feel as though I watched it, only without the (23 minute ) time-loss remorse or eyeroll headache.
  11. I agree, but for me this isn't nearly as bad as other films. It's plausible she has training in hand-to-hand combat since her parents were super-heroes, and she certainly should be better at controlling the ants than Scott at that point of the film. It isn't even hard to believe she's more mature given ger upbringing and losing her mother the way she did. But yes, she just seemed to be better in every other way as well. But hey, she liked that when Scott is in just the right light, his 6-pack (of 8oz sodas) looks nice. Hope Pym.
  12. The timing was off by a few days.
  13. What I meant was if Thor was able to stop it, when Bruce could not stop a (Jen driven) jeep, then I'm guessing it wasn't driven by Jane or Valkyrie. Otherwise, Thor would have been roadkill.
