  1. I've never had a problem with submissions to CGC, though I've only sent 6[?] books. This is, I'm hoping, just a minor disappointment, but I won't know until I go to a show where CGC has a booth. A few years ago I purchased the ASM #1 CGC 2.0 that MCS had up for some time iirc. The obvious red flags are the cut out pieces from the cover. The logo clearly rules out the GRR version, so the question remained if it was a pence copy. Naturally I wasn't going to crack it out myself, even though the comic had been discussed on these forums with images. After some communication between MCS and CGC, I sent it to MCS who then sent it to CGC to verify the indicia shows it to be a US copy. I also requested that if it is, I wanted it returned raw so I can see it for myself and show others. If it was a pence, MCS would replace with another copy they had that we both felt was agreeably comparable. CGC quickly (walk through, perhaps) said it was a US copy, but then re-slabbed it before returning it to me, so now I'm in the same spot I was before I'm not saying anyone is/was lying, but even MCS (in our messages) was unaware of the difference between the two without my explanation, and sheet happens at CGC. I really don't want to send it through the mail again, so when I bring it to a booth I'm going to have them crack it so it can finally be settled. If it's a pence, I'll have CGC to verify to MCS. Hopefully this year, but First World Problem, but then I'm also wondering how the difference in prices between then and now will affect this in a worst-case scenario, and who exactly at that point will be responsible. I was told by CGC this would be treated as a verification, and not just a sub.
  2. Is it higher than what you can get a lower grade covered copy?
  3. I forgot to post my other Sam Sigs, (and a non-Copper Buzz)
  4. My lone copy, but it doesn't seem to have been posted yet.
  5. I'd say even less so. What's silly is how sometimes TPGs consider a preview as a 1st appearance (ASM 365) and sometimes not (Capes #1/Agents #6).
  6. Poop on eBay. I know the seller, so I don't need them. It was removed from eBay because I bought it. Well, that is what collectors do, but thanks for your concern. It isn't going anywhere, though. Some collectors love an item and are fine paying a premium to get it right now. Not sorry. Some people want an item because they hope to get more for it later. Your last comment suggests you're in this camp. No problem. I have the book and the seller has some money. Win, win. I hope you guys are able to get your copies for a price you can accept if they come up. I'm gonna nickname my copy "Nachos".
  7. I was tempted to buy it the last time it was mentioned here in the thread. All of this reminded me, so it all worked out perfectly.
  8. It did Seller and buyer agreed on a number, and are both happy. I'll post a scan in a few days when I'm off
  9. And these. Thinking about finishing this run- I have all the tough ones out of the way.
  10. More upgrades and gap fillers- The John Carter #1 is a duplicate allowing me to move my signed (by Kane) copy to my signed collection.
  11. Maybe these are the same people who are impressed when they read the word "faux". Maybe they think "facsimile" is French for "Puts smile on face".
  12. No, I meant your follow up offer[ s ], not his prices (you already posted those). I've never heard of a seller blocking someone giving offers unless they felt their time was being wasted (tiny offer bumps or progressively lower offers). If his price for what you wanted was too high, and you gave more than one offer before being blocked, it seems possible that's what the seller decided, so I'm just curious if it was either one. Or was it neither one, and you were simply blocked? And as @steveinthecity asked, were there rude responses in the negotiations? And I'm not him- I don't sell comics, and if I ever do it's very unlikely I'll do it on eBay.
  13. Seems very unreasonable if your follow up offer(s) were honest and in good faith. However, if your follow up(s) went in the opposite direction, or increased by only a dollar or two, then his time is being wasted. Or was he being unreasonable to very fair offers?
  14. Just arrived today from the Netherlands. FF: World's Greatest Comics Magazine #10 splash page by Frenz & Royer.
