  1. Here comes the facsimile variant craze.
  2. DC usually sends Mike Royer a box of these Kirby collections, omnibus', TPBs, etc. when they're released, so for the last 10 years I've been buying mine (and sometimes a copy for my brother) from him. But this was a gift
  3. It'll be a draw after each takes turns getting the upper hand until they reluctantly unite against a common foe. Then at the end they go their separate ways, perhaps with a new found respect for the other, but hardly friends.
  4. More so for Carol Danvers than Him I'd say (she gains powers, but Him goes through a change), but yes. Still, the first time the Name and the Costume are introduced is usually considered the 1st appearance of the hero/villain (Cletus Kasady) . Avengers #32 is the 1st appearance of Bill Foster, but no one cares until he becomes Black Goliath in Power Man #24. Hank Pym was many different characters, but they don't all share the same 1st appearance date. EDIT: Wait, which thread is this?
  5. He doesn't spell very well. Look at Thor 165 (or FF67) as you would Marvel Super Heroes #13- The 1st Carol Danvers isn't the 1st Ms. Marvel, and the 1st Him isn't the 1st Adam Warlock.
  6. A coworker and I collected/traded these. By the time I gave up trying to find another Wolverine hologram card for a 2nd hologram set, I built 6 full sets with a 7th only 1 card shy, and many singles. I guess I'm throwing money away- I have no desire to grade or sell them. I'll probably leave them to family, but the cards will likely be worthless again.
  7. This was about 9 years ago- I bought some items from a forum members store, and this is how they arrived. Amazingly nothing was damaged.
  8. I thought it is was one of those counterfeit reproductions that are popping up. I also thought the True Believers books had that above the title.
  9. These are horrible for the hobby, and eBay HAS to have been inundated with messages from collectors who also recognize this. But moneymoneymoney is all that matters to eBay.
  10. If he gets addicted to this, he could someday play Diamondhead in a Nova film.
  11. I have a J.I.M. Annual #1 with this defect, and unfortunately (and seemingly) as a result 3 pages have been torn at the exact spot where the fold is, including the page with the fold. I was told by Steve Ricketts (across the street) the tears would be treated as any other tear, even though they were caused in production. I assume because there is no way to prove they happened in production. I still wonder if that's the case, but not willing to find out via submission. It presents like a VF+, so I'll just be happy with that.
  12. I can't imagine they're worth very much money as there are likely many out there. I think it's old posters, 70's and before, that get the $$$ attention, but ones like these that were probably in [most] every comic and music shop, and even some homes nation wide- probably not.
  13. I recently purchased a small group of mid-high grade Bronze Captain America's from Lou- Prompt and polite communication from day one, and the transaction went off without a hitch. The books are beautiful and were shipped securely and quickly! Buy with confidence!!
