Well, shows you what I know. Four Favorites #13 it is then! I can't get past how different it looks from his other stuff though, regardless of what Gerber says. The faces look nothing like Cole's, and the composition is awkward. Even the signature looks wonky. Maybe a different artist penciled it and Cole inked it? Thats what i was thinking too. Ferstadt is listed as cover artst for issues 11-17 except 13. It looks exactly like Ferstadt's work though. Here's issue 14, the faces look exactly the same along with everything else. -

Also, here's a weird one, not sure what to make of this. Bold Comics #2 Gerber has its index number listed as 251-A, Which usually means it's an annual, but it has a description that says "Cover only". It's also a Gerber 10. Anyone have any info on this book? -

This week in your Magazine collection.

First time posting here in the mags section. I found these a couple weeks back at a swap meet for 25 cents each. They're not comics, but they have cool, bloody covers! -
I was reading my copy of Boy Commandos # 5 last night and just had to share a couple of the splash panels. Great example of classic GA kirby and simon. I really like the mood in this one. And notice the time on the clock. Maybe a reference to the doomsday clock? (Was that around during WWII?)
-
I've found a few more to share with you guys. This first one is from Airboy Comics #110 (V.10 #3). The splash panel from The Heap story.
-
Nice. I remember buying this book when i was younger and absolutely loving the cover. I think you captured the mood of the cover very well. Great work!

Great stuff Bane. You work is looking better and better with each piece. Keep up the good work buddy!!

Went yard saling with the girlfriend this morning and most were duds. But the last one we stopped at i scored pretty big. Here's what i found... Only one comic related item, too bad about the condition though. A fawcett detective mag from 1948 And about 25 books from 1897to 1950. Here's the best out of the bunch. I was pretty excited to see the wreck of the circus because to my understanding, it's a tough one to find. And this is the thing that gave me that rush of finding something cool at a yard sale. And 50 cents, there was no way this wasn't coming home with me. It has the original label inside of it too, here's a couple close up pics... The label says... W. A. Gaines & Co. Distillers Frankfort, Kentucky On and after September 1st, 1892, all Old Crow Whiskey bottled by us will be sold under this label. We guarantee the whisky contained in this bottle to be genuine old Crow when sold under our unbroken seal. F.W. Hunt &Co. Boston, Mass And on the bottom of the bottle it has imprints stating the last sentence above. Any bottle junkies here? Would you happen to know anything about this bottle? Age, Worth? I havn't dwelled to much into bottle but my g/f's grandpa is a bottle collector so i bought it for his birthday. -
Just recieved my first two packages from val and i couldn't be happier with EVERYTHING. Transaction was smooth and fast, books accurately graded and Val's gotta be at the post office before the takeit symbol comes through. (thumbs u (thumbs u

You are welcome; glad to help. Be sure to let us know how the hunt goes and get a CAF gallery and post when you buy. I should also mention that the CAF can be searched for Kelley's art. If you see a piece you like, you can politely approach the owner (through the CAF) about selling once you know what the "street price" is. Will do. Hopefully i'll have a piece to share with you guys sometime soon. Thanks again! (thumbs u -

Sweet, thank you very much. I'll look into all of these. I already have a HA membership so i think i'll look there. I have never looked into OA so had no idea where to begin but this helps alot. Thanks! Does this line make anyone else feel incredibly old? I knew someone would say something along those lines. I was born in '86 so i'm on the younger side of the boards here. -

Im not really a OA collector but i've been thinking of buying some in the near future. When i was a kid, i was a huge Kelley Jones fan, especially his Batman stuff and The Hammer. I think if i ever did buy an OA, it would have to be a K.J. page, since he was a huge inspiration to me to start drawing. It would either have to be a page from The Hammer or Batman: Red Rain, Bloodstorm I just have a couple questions, does anyone know how much his pages go for? I'd imagine his bloody and gory pages go for more. Is there a big market for Kelley Jones stuff to where i could obtain a page easily from any of the above mentioned books? And if so, where? (Ebay, cons?) Thanks anyone that can help/ has any info.
