  1. I was told you guys in the atom age section might appreciate this. Picked this up over the weekend at an estate sale for $2.50
  2. Very cool book. I'm sure the good ol boys at DC will let us know when Action Comics reaches it's 1000th issue. They're always thinking of ways to make more money on stuff like that.
  3. Yes sir. Gotta love those estate sales.
  4. I'll say. You made out pretty nicely as well with your wonder con grabs. Especially the strange tales annual 1. That ones on m want list.
  5. I've posted this two times already but I just gotta do it one more time. Sorry!!! I'm just super stoked for finding this at an estate sale for $2.50
  6. Picked this one up today at an estate sale for a wallet breaking $2.50. I posted it in the PGM section, so if anyone wants to help me figure out a grade for this book, it'd be greatly appreciated. I also picked up a G.I. Combat, OAAW, (you can find those two in the war section in silver) SSWS, Hi Yo Silver 15 at $2.50 each. It was a pretty nice ending to my comic hunting day after a huge disappointment at a local comic show that they were holding at a hotel. Fresno, pfff.
  7. While I love the old war covers (especially the grey tone), war comics is usually not my area of focus, but I just couldn't pass these up at $2.50 each.
  8. Beautiful house icculus. Seeing all those mounts makes me think of all the crazy adventures you must've gone on to get those trophies. I'm sure there are many amazing experiences behind every one of those pieces and understand why you'd be proud to show it off. Just don't let Ace Ventura in your home.
  9. Wow, those look pretty cool with the black background.
  10. VERY VERY cool books. I love those "3D" ACG covers. -EDIT- Actually, arn't they supposed to be "3D" all the way through the book? Do you have any interior shots of the books to share? I'd love to see what they qualified 3D as.
  11. The girlfriend and I went to a local swap meet yesterday and i found a booth with some decent comics (figuring all the drek i had seen before it). It's been awhile since i've gotten any new comics so i was pretty stoked about my girlfriend buying me these. All the comics were 2 for $5 and he gave me the last one as a freebie. I was pretty shocked to find one of these in the stack. Can you guess which one? Not to bad for $2.50
  12. Very cool. Looks like that one took some time with all the cross hatching.
  13. Wow, what a gorgeous room. I would be honored to just go into it to have a look around. Very nice presentation of your books. Are those safes bolted down? If not you might want to think about doing that. Small safes that can be picked up/ moved with aa dolley are just a grab bag for crooks to take all your valuables in one go. I'm not criticizing, just looking out for you. I had a friend who kept all his valuables/ cash in a safe in his closet and it got stolen. It was the only thing that got stolen so it was probably someone he knew but it made it very easy for the guy to take all his valuables quickly. Awesome room!!!!!
  14. He was leaving a clue for robin. The $10.66 was a clue to the year 1066 which the battle of Hastings took place in. It was to lead him to the villian known as "doc" Hastings. If you ask me i would've never gotten that from $10.66. But thats why im not robin. Steelcity- Those are some good lookin books you've got. Most of those i dont have. Thanks for sharing. (thumbs u
  15. Very nice. I saw you were thinking about getting it resubbed. I say go fort it. That looks as nice as the JIM 95 8.0 above.
  16. I would kill to be sitting atop a skyscraper in Singapore reading some GA right now.
  17. If anyone hasn't heard, my house has been forclosed so it's time for me to downgrade severely. I just have to much stuff to be hauling around with me so I'm gonna be letting it go for cheap. I just don't have the room for all of my books anymore since my new room will be significantly smaller than the one I have right now and I'll also be needing the money to help put a down payment on our new house. Most of what will be for sale is moderns and graphic novels/ TPBs. I also have a handful of silver/bronze age doubles and under copies. I'll probably get it going either tonight or tomorrow in the mixed forum. Hope to see you there!
  18. Wow that's a purty book. Those blues really are vibrant.
  19. steelcity, I need a bigger boat, er monitor. I have noticed that the issues with the Batmobile featured on the cover tend to stand out. Is Batman waiving or is he grimacing in pain as he clips his nuts on the steering wheel. BTW what's with the second steering wheel? Thats so robin feels important. I love the later 60's covers as well. They have a "big" feeling to them. I don't know why but thats what i always think when i see them. Probably because of the close up perspective that most of those covers have.
  20. I love the cover to #380. The first time i saw it was on a notebook i bought from walmart () and had to have it so i went on a mad hunt to find it.
  21. Just got my detective 102 in the mail today from jon and it looked great. The packaging was amazing. it actually saved my book from some punture wounds it recieved on its way to my house. Jon's a friendly guy who's easy to deal with and keeps you updated with everything thats going on in the transaction.
