  1. A bunch...around guide prices.....but well worth it as they are all usually over guide selling comics.
  2. You just never know when you are going to pick up something rare and cool..... Good Girl Art, LB Cole, Alex Schomburg, Feldstein, Hitler & Mussolini, GA Captain America.....yes it was a good day......
  3. Got these at an auction yesterday....the Mary Marvel is just the box...no watch but still very cool!
  4. Book Center is still there but doesn't sell comics and Bob's Comic Castle is still out by the river. I assume that you must be another Ball State grad....I am 80-84 BS & 85-87 MA myself. Oh and congrats on your sale...sounds like it was worthwhile......
  5. Muncie had Comic Castle which turned into Range Line Comics which turned into Bob's Comic Castle and it is still in business. Book Center out by the Mall used to have comics back in the day. Another comic store was in the village by Ball State for a while many years ago too. At present Muncie has another great store called Aw Yeah Comics.
  6. Where did you buy the DD's in Muncie...trying to think what stores were open then....
  7. Found these at a local flea market....cool Frank Thorne give away comics from the early 70's
  8. There is music store in my town that also sells comics and cards (weird combo...). Stopped there for the first time in forever and here are some $1 books I picked up today. Amazing what you can find on the cheap sometimes...
  9. That's insane. I understand the census is low because it was never really worth subbing, but good lord, can people not wait? in a few months ebay will have plenty. Yeah, that's around 100 copies of unsold store stock....so I am thinking you are right about more being subbed in the near future....
  10. Here are some of my finds from This Sat.....nothing too spectacular but for a little under 50 cents each I am pleased....
  11. I've gone and messed up my room again....a never ending battle
  12. ....they had $2 each on the boxes. I didn't quote any price but I guess if paying what someone is asking is taking advantage of them then...guilty. Actually should have been $64 because 1 had 32 books but she said $60 since I was the first person to look at the boxes.....I guess I really took advantage of her for not saying...no,no...I must pay the $64 Ya did great. In sure some of us, myself included, are a little jealous. Hell, if you wanted to be a real you coulda just walked away with 2 1st Deathloks, Wolvie 1, 1st Black Cat, 2 1st Rouges and Death of Elektra for $14. At least ya had enough class to overpay a little on the others Thanks....surprisingly the Spidey #408 is one of the best of the lot. I have had many, many multiples of all the others in the bunch but don't think I have had the Spidey variant before....it is pretty limited. I didn't catch the 408. Very nice! Out of curiousity was this show here in the tri-state (Ohio, KY,IN) area? Judging by your name Id guess you operate in some capacity here at the University in Cincinnati. Show was in Indianapolis....I almost attended U of C back in 1980 but at the last moment decided on Ball State in Muncie IN....which I now happen to teach and coach at the high school in Muncie and like U of C our mascot is the Bearcat....thus Bearcatcoach! Good man! I'm a fellow MAC alumnus from Toledo. Nice job with your books! Excellent school....The Rockets! Indianapolis shows are generally pretty good.....here are a couple of my favorite purchases of the day. They were not a couple bucks each.... But $50 for the pair was a fair price I thought!

  16. ...cgc boards always thinking the best of people. If you saw someone that was into comics enough to be selling them at a con, you would think they would have some idea of the value of what they are bringing, that's all. Maybe not so much with current hot books that just started selling for decent coin, but a handful of the issues pictured there have sold for decent money for a long long time. Statement doesn't hold true for me in my convention experiences..... For example....The promoter of our local con brought out his own $1 boxes at the show last month because he did not sell out of tables. Two of us were going through them at the beginning of the show. The other guy pulled 3 Killing Jokes 1st print....I pulled out a Sup 75 platinum and Swamp Thing 37 (and many other nice comics) all for a buck each. The promoter is an ex-store owner. Think he didn't know the value? He just didn't care.... I run into this at nearly every show I go to....I have several Dealers I go to first because I know they will have great deals of a similar vein (and no I am not giving out their names....I still want to get there first....)
  17. ...cgc boards always thinking the best of people. It was a lady and her 3 kids...said she called about getting a table at the show but they were all sold out (they were months ago) so seemed legit....most of the rest of the 4 boxes was bulk....nothing too exciting. Good thing they didn't get a table cause they probably wouldn't have sold much more than I bought.....
  18. When to a local comic con today....had a good time and found some great deals BUT the best part of the day as I was leaving I drove past a car with hatch back up and 4 long boxes sticking out with a $2 each sign on the boxes. Of course curiosity got the best of me so I parked and took a look. They had been out there 3 hours or so and I was the first person to look at their comics. Here is what I picked out for $60..... You just never know when a good deal comes your way.....
