  1. Good luck at the show Dale....make lots of $$! I thought about doing it after the Stan announcement....definitely will bring in better attendance. But just couldn't make such a late change in my schedule....
  2. Actually in Chicago you would have to pay $1500 for a booth....but your point is well taken....$800 at a new show is too much. $500 like mysterio said....more doable....
  3. I know years ago that they charged less for booths the closer they show came but I am pretty sure that is no longer the case. It has been a while since I have talked to a dealer that they got discounted rates as the show gets close....probably one of the reasons for so many unfilled booth spaces at Chicago this year.
  4. Booth fees for the new shows according to information at the Wizard end of show meeting at Chicago will be $800 for a 10x10 retail booth. Pretty steep for an untested show but less than the fees for the established shows
  5. We have been setting up at ASH since 1989 and I agree...loved the Shadeland and 21st location....have lost quite a bit of attendance by moving up north. Some of the shows in the 90's sported 1k+ attendance....wish there were still that many coming...would be a crazy atmosphere. That being said we still do great so no complaints from me!
  6. These dates are accurate....at the Sunday dealer meeting they confirmed them and stated the printed information that the convention was a week earlier was incorrect.....
  7. And Andy still runs the ASH Comics Con...Indiana's longest running show....over 30 years! Next one is Oct 15 for anyone in the vicinity that wants to make the trip....it is located on the North side of Indy at the Caribbean Cove hotel. Always a good time!
  8. Thank you Wayne....always appreciated!
  9. Did well setting up this year at Planet....would have gone back if it was at the same time next year but will not be making the trip in Feb.
  10. We have set up in Columbus for many a year and are one of the last of the old comic guys. No complaints sales wise. Did my normal dealer sales (always get hit up early) and nice customer sales too....add them together equals a great show. I didn't buy much but did get almost a complete run of the EC slipcase hardback sets I'll be taking to the next few show....man are they heavy though! My favorite purchase was from the fudge guy....$40 well spent...yum.
  11. I suppose it's possible....they are shooting for around 35 shows next year. That being said I don't remember anyone mentioning them specifically.
  12. And come see us at booth 1202 Mark Scott Comics....lots of new inventory from Gold to Silver to Bronze!
  13. In Columbus at Sunday mornings meeting they gave an overview of the 2018 schedule and stated it would be finalized in the next 2-3 weeks so look for it soon....several small market shows will be added in addition to what they already have.
  14. Got a call about some comics for sale....came back with 3 short boxes full. Here are some of the more copacetic ones...
  15. Nice one! That book is either really cheap or really expensive....no in between....
  16. Glad to help you add those 2 comics to your collection Nick....
  17. BS and MA from Ball State in the 80's for me....and been in the area ever since! Have not seen anything local about a estate comic auction here but if you find the info please PM....thanks!
  18. Looks like Steven Spilger in your video....probably bought some of those lots....
  19. This was an auction I wanted to go to but was set up at the Motor City Con....wish they would have had it on another weekend....the owners would have made quite a bit more money...lol
  20. Got this at an auction Sat....3-4 other comic guys there....one other guy and I beat each other up on price so no real deal but still glad to have it....
  21. I briefly met him at Planet Comic Con....Clint's Comics had a nice set up there. Seemed like a great guy....I hope they catch the perpetrator and they prosecute to the full extent of the law
