  1. Thanks for your interest...my collection is a real cross section of comic books from my ALL-WINNERS #4 in 1942 to WEIRD-SCIENCE-FANTASY #26 in 1954 with other one- shots like The ATOMIC THUNDERBOLT #1 from 1946 to KO KOMICS #1 in 1945 and all in still pretty good shape. mm
  2. Thanks! Next off to be graded are BATMAN #47...SUPERMAN #53...and MARVEL FAMILY #1. Then FLASH #104 and SUPERBOY #1. It's been suggested that I start a thread about my collection...not sure there would be that much interest...but it's a thought. mm
  3. The ALL-STAR #38 came back a 6.0...the FLASH #98 a 5.5 and CAPTAIN AMERICA #60 came back a 7.0. Not bad for nearly 70 year old books that were in and out of boxes while moving to 4 different states, then put away for almost 30 years. mm
  4. If I had these pages trimmed...would this be considered restoration? mm
  5. I think it should go with a Blue Label...this is the way the book was printed! mm
  6. Unopened/Uncut Pages...when the pages have not been separated at the unbound edges. Is this a production error...a flaw...how would it be graded? mm
  7. Just checked my TERRY-TOONS #38...just one staple...less chance for tears. mm
  8. Thanks...I'll have to check it out...never noticed. mm
  9. Does a book have to have two staples to get a Blue Label? I am about to send off my HUMAN TORCH #19 for grading and find that it has only ONE STAPLE dead center in the spine. There are no other holes on the spine so I assume it was printed this way. mm
  10. I read them...and read them...and then put them away for 40 years. Not one cover fell off. mm
  11. Started in '42 with ALL-WINNERS #4 through '54 with WEIRD SCIENCE-FANTASY #26. mm
  12. Thanks for asking! Now that I'm getting them graded, little by little, I'm afraid they'll stay in the family for awhile. Just sent off my ALL-STAR #38 ('48), CAPTAIN AMERICA #60 ('47) and FLASH COMICS #98 ('48)...I'll let you know how they grade. mm
  13. That's why I take my grandchildren with me to the Comic Stores...don't want to look too out of place. mm
  14. Do you know if the covers shown on the newstand on BATMAN #199 are copies of real issues? mm
  15. In my copy of STRANGE ADVENTURES #208 from January '68 there is an ad for the February '69 issue of BATMAN COMICS #199 with a cover featuring Batman trying to buy a copy of his own comic book. This is one I've never seen! mm
  16. 77...began collecting in 1942. Still have most of them. mm
  17. Would you consider a Four Color FLASH GORDON #190 "The Adventures of the Flying Saucers" Golden Age Sci-Fi ? mm
  18. That means I probably have the oldest private collection, comics I bought off the newstand between '42 and '54...wow! mm
  19. Please...don't tell me at 77 I'm the oldest guy here! mm
  20. It was in the mid to late '60's that I first realized my cardboard boxes of comics in the garage were worth more than the dime I paid for them...their value to me were the hours of escapism reading pleasure they provided me. mm
