  1. Check again........https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/4452/
  2. It seems that if vintage concert posters could be slabbed then vintage magazine ads shouldn't be an issue. Some of the concert posters measure over 18 inches wide and 30 inches tall, while most vintage ads are smaller than these.
  3. I have quite a few vintage magazine ads that I have acquired. Some will be framed and hung on the walls in our kitchen and/or Breakfast nook. I really enjoy the nostalgic look of these ads, and they are quite beautiful. I was wondering since CGC slabs full magazines, and slabs pages from comics. Would they also slab these vintage page ads?
  4. As someone who used to be an avid card collector I can tell you that PSA, and their set registries have a lot to do with what card collectors will pay. If one millionaire has a GPA of 9.2 in the registry, then the next millionaire will spend big bucks to move ahead of him with a GPA of 9.4. While I still have some cards, I moved on, and just started collecting things that interest me. I have a great ticket collection, and I am currently trying to build a nice comic collection. If CGC ever started a registry similar to PSA's (I assume they haven't yet), then you could expect to see comic prices increase even further.
  5. lots to be setup up still before getting to that, but the option is certainly there a fair way down the road. I agree, but Cap's attitude changed quite a bit in this movie. I wonder if DOFP will enlighten us more on this ?
  6. It sure appears that way. The Civil War was a neat story line, but it never felt right to me, I never knew who to root for and root against.
  7. I am always looking for vintage high grade(raw or slabbed) Sports Illustrated's that I don't have. If any one has any shoot me a Pm or post here. Thanks !
  8. I was impressed with most of the characters, however, Falcon seemed a little weak in my opinion. It seems they intentionally made Cap faster & stronger for this movie as compared to Cap 1 and Avengers.
  9. Also to anyone thinking of taking younger children to Winter Soldier. It has a good bit of violence, but not really any gory bloodshed. A little more cursing than most Marvel movies, but no F-bombs or anything like that. I took both my children (8 & 10) to the movie and while I think they handled it pretty well it may not be for everyones kids that age.
  10. Also, when I returned home from the movie I went straight to E-bay and purchased three raw copies of #6. If the character continues to gain popularity it's all good. If not then I have some nice memories for my 8year old son.
  11. They should have flipped the end scenes. I was also disappointed after the huge wait. Yep, would have made a lot more sense to flip-flop the scenes.
  12. Just saw Winter Soldier with the family this afternoon, and I have to agree it is one of the better Marvel products to come along. Very suspenseful, with some great action scenes. I think after this the Winter Soldier character mat be around for awhile. If there is one thing that kind of bugged me me about the movie it was the final cut-in during the credits. We had to wait around forever to see it, we were the only people left in the theatre to see it. The final cut-in was kind of disappointing in my opinion as well.
  13. I have several vintage Sports Illustrated's I would like to send to CGC. How does CGC treat/grade magazines with shipping labels ? Do they downgrade them for having a mailing label ? If the label is removed with no residue is this considered altered ? Thanks !
  14. Couldn't resist the silver sharpie across the red skull...........
  15. Received 18 & 19 today, Lower grade but nice, Imho..............
  16. Some black cover love.............Sorry it's not Silver age......
  17. Man, they just don't make ink like that anymore.
  18. Nice copy! What did they grade it at and what do you grade it? They graded F to VF- I would say 8.5 at the lowest, 9.2 at the most.
  19. Could be, Seller had it listed as F to VF. So I figured I would be lucky to get a VF copy. Except for that ULC it looks like a really sweet copy. Forgive my new-ness, but what is a ULC ? By the way thanks for the FF #48 Shark, it arrived today in great shape.
  20. I just looked at the scan and the book and didnt see it, only a small spine crease near the marvel logo.
  21. Could be, Seller had it listed as F to VF. So I figured I would be lucky to get a VF copy.
  22. Got this one in today, from our very own shark. I have always wanted #48.
