  1. This place is a madhouse. Usually, this stadium is at 80% capacity (I have season tix). Today? Packed and loud. Luckily, the Saints keep on coughing it up. Big 3rd down...
  2. Dom- let's go niners! I'll be at the game today. Very excited. I would love to see the warriors in the playoffs. We just need Stephon to get healthy!
  3. Mine is a bit longer than this pic of Wilson's, I believe. Is it longer than in this picture?
  4. Why don't you just go back to your shoe shopping, you left coast namby-pamby? These shoes suck. These shoes rule! I love you even though you hate me. TJ- did you get those trades in the mail yet?
  5. I don't know. Brian Wilson's beard has ninjas in it... I'd pay to see that fight! Battle of the beards! I'd still take Wilson: Fear The Beard
  6. I don't know. Brian Wilson's beard has ninjas in it...
  7. Great! I know that you have a stack of Chew for me that I'd love to get signed! I have a bunch of YTLM that I'd love for you to look at and recommend for SS (i.e. grade), if you have the time and interest. I completely understand wanting to stay closer to the convention. That being said, the new place is in North Beach, which is a pretty cool part of San Francisco. It may be more interesting for you if you enjoy, say, fun and don't enjoy, say, violence
  8. That new issue will hopefully distract Lebowski and I from our constant bickering. Nothing distracts TJ. One of the many powers of the beard. Where does TJ's beard rank relative to: 1) 2) 3) ?
  9. I hope that you can make it. I'm closing on my new condo next week, so if you need a place to crash, you have a place for the super low price of free. Also, any interest in helping me get a few issues of Y signed and SS'd? I think that having to buy both did scare off a lot of people. April said that only 5 people replied that they wanted both and I was the only one of the 5 who hadn't bought a cover before. Congrats on scoring 21. That's a fun cover!

  11. Nice scores! I was actually thinking about that Pill page 1 myself. Yeah, my name just came up on the cover list (but it was an awesome score: both 22s and the back to the scriptbook), so I think I'm out of the cover business for a while. Which cover did you score, if you don't mind me asking? I've heard rumors that you might have others.... I hope that Rob brings some art with him. Does that mean that the chances of you flying out to the Best Coast are improving?
  12. Which pages did you score? I need to pick up a few more myself.

  14. How about that comic we call Chew? I don't know about you all, but I sure like it a lot. Who wants to talk about Chew?
  15. I'm with Branget on this one. If there was any confusion, I was going for the whole "Dorothy Mantooth is a saint" Anchorman goof there. Also, much love to April. Always awesome.
  16. If by still being developed by Showtime she means the possible -script they bought is sitting on a shelf at this time (because it sure as hell isn't in any sort of pre-production stages or casting stages) and we may see a show at the earliest in 2014 then you are correct. I have seen what Showtime has in the works for their 2013-2014 lineup including 2 new shows and Chew isn't part of that lineup. Obviously Rob's wife hopes that Showtime develops the show because of the money they would see from it and she is going to tell some random stranger sending emails that it is being made. I mean do you think she is going to tell you some insider information that you can't just Google? You are being fed the same line as what came out last March when people were hoping this would possibly go into production and be on this years lineup. Anyway George I understand you really, really want this show to happen but the next step is to go into pre-production and possibly casting and Showtime isn't doing either. Also refrain from making such statements and correct their false representations? Get that lawyer talk out of here. Chew is as close to going into pre-production as Locke & Key is, oh wait........... How dare you question April!! April is a saint!!! Actually, I don't really want to address where the Chew development is at this stage. I think that we all can agree that we want to see the show and that we'd prefer to see it sooner rather than later. I'd like to address a couple of points: the discussion of an animated show and the discussion of whether the show should follow the plot of the comic. 1) Animated vs. live action Here, I am inclined to see a live action show. I am particularly interested in seeing Ken Leung, Layman's first choice, take on the roll of Tony Chu. I agree with the argument that people will take the show more seriously with actors (as compared to an animated series). Either way, if we get the show, it'll be awesome! 2) Plot of the book I'm a huge Chew fan. Don't get me wrong. However, I like the idea of the show deviating from the comic, even substantially. If I'm interested in Layman's interpretation, I have the comic already. I am really happy to jump into something new. Also, I think that the concept of food related powers and some of the nutty investigations that Tony conducts would be more interesting if they were developed more fully. I think that an episodic TV show could do that well. Relative to a series with a 50 issue cap, a TV series with no set end date could spend more time on one shot episodes. Ideally, I'd like to see Chew plotted out similarly to the X-files. The X-files had an overarching mythology and plot that it would follow, but it mixed in a ton of one shots. In particular, I think that both the Colby/Chu and Savoy/Caesar partnerships are capable of carrying shows without a bigger "purpose." Thoughts?
  17. Can you send those threats to eBay? In theory, impersonating an eBay employee is fraud.
  18. Jeff, How can this be? According to him... "I always pay if the seller can be patient. Ok?" Maybe patient means a year? Again, sorry that this clown exists.
  19. I'm still sorry. Thank you for bringing this to the boards though. It likely saved me and some others some pain. Have a happy new year.
  20. Jeff- that sucks, man. I'm sorry to hear.
  21. Maybe you need to be selling to these bidders... http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEW-1-CGC-9-8-1ST-PRINT-IMAGE-COMICS-FIRST-PRINT-/190615013883?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item2c618a49fb Very fishy considering that seller won 2 copies from me for $400 and $455 in the last week. This one is at 480 now Check his auctions he is shilling like mad. Reported to eBay. He won 2 copies from me but still no payment. Wow Someone needs to bust out an alternate eBay account then and bid up every auction of this turds and then not pay for any of them. Do this over the course of a couple months and the turd seller may give up. GPA gets all screwed up by this loser if you do that. Hopefully he shills his account to a lot of ebay fees. Branget did you report a shill on his account, or non paying bidder? Both How does this guy have 100% feedback?
  22. I just got this gem in my e-mail account: Dear turbomaddux, I really want this item. Could you add me to your exemption list. I always pay if the seller can be patient. Ok? - jaredskeycomics
  23. Thank you. I did not want to part with the issue so quickly, but I'm in the middle of buying my first home (little did I know that after I posted it, my name came up on the Chew cover list, so the money will be really helpful). That and the ridiculous price on that 9.8 SS pretty much sprung me to action.
