  1. Hmm... Are the image comics: what's next interesting. I have a few of those...
  2. Jonesy bought books, send money, and then let me know when they got there. What else do you want :-) Pleasure doing business with you!
  3. No worries at all. Thank YOU so much for helping support the Hero Initiative.
  4. Glad that those came out alright!
  5. That was a ridiculously good read. Just great build and great story telling.
  6. I have no inside information on this. It's pure speculation. I wonder if there are some delays here and there because of the nature of the collaborative process. I know that there have been times where Nick has drawn a panel or two differently than Jonathan had envisioned and it has changed part of the story. Nick and Jonathan both have lots of ideas and I wonder if there are delays simply because they are working together to put out the best story possible. If anything, I would welcome these types of delays, but that's just me.
  7. I would imagine both of these creators have some say in the way they choose to prioritize. However I did notice this month when making my DCBS order that there was no EoW to order. Expected delay or not? The creators I've talked to that do original IPs as well as Big 2 books usually prioritize their Big 2 books. That's their cash cow, and you can't really blame them. There's also the assumption that creator owned readers tend to be more loyal and more willing to wait through delays, whereas Big 2 execs are less patient. I would have thought they would have made more on their own. Real question. What makes a writer do an Image book if they can make more with DC/Marvel ? Freedom to write any story they want instead of someone else's characters. Owning the rights to their own stuff so if it gets optioned for tv/film they get a nice big cheque. They have control over what happens with their story ie who to sell it to if several people are interested. Plus if it's a hit they'll make more money on it than at the big 2. This is off topic, but there are also reasons why creators should work on Marvel/DC projects even if they are making more money doing independent stuff. They get to work with characters that they love and working for DC/Marvel helps them market their independent stuff more broadly.
  8. I guess this explains the buy it now on my sleeper 1 9.8 SS last night. That book had been up there forever. Time to list another one.... at a higher price.
  9. Given how many were done of the Saga RRP, and that was prior to its second huge leg up, I would expect and absolute avalanche of them coming from NYCC. The EoW RRP was touted from before its launch as the next potential Saga RRP, there will be a lot of them. I agree, if you are talking about copies being sold Raw on ebay. But as with all books, there will be many people with 9.8 candidates who just havent got around to slabbing them. I wouldnt expect to be able to BUY a 9.8 raw candidate easily, but many definitely will exist in private hands. Having witnessed a ton of the Hickman/Dragotta signings at NYCC, I don't think you'll see an avalanche like you did with the Saga RRP. Some got done, but nothing like the volume of Saga RRPs. Part of this is that I wager that there are fewer EoW RRPs than Saga RRPs and the distribution method (Diamond mailing them) left many mangled. In my opinion, it's just a much harder book to find in 9.8 condition than the Saga RRP and most people only sub modern SS books that they think have a shot at a 9.8. I also agree that there are some raw 9.8 candidates out there, but, again, this is just a hard book to find in high grade.... period :-) CBT!!!! Beat me to it. But it appears we agree...glad you saw the same thing and I'm not crazy! No worries, but you are crazy, just not for this reason :-)

  11. Welcome back! Look forward to more charts/graphs. Also, I agree with you. Although saga, has been falling off the front page of the forums it's still surprising to see that it stillh as print run over 50k a month at issue 14? thanks and here is saga's mighty sales Please note your values on the intercepts!!!! I don't want any data geek battles later :-)
  12. Finally got around to reading issue 7. Looking forward to seeing how this all gets worked out.
  13. I know it's not a popular opinion around here, but it kind of echoes my feelings about the book so far. (Disclaimer, I've read EoW #1-4 only, didn't get to #5 yet.) There's tremendous talent in the plotting, craft in the setup, the art is a pleasure to look at and the covers are cool. Even so, I'm kinda on the fence as to continuing and can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's that the characters didn't grab me emotionally, or only grabbed me in fits and spurts, compared to a title like Saga which has more warmth and dark humor to it. Now I look forward to being told that I should go read My Little Pony. I get that sentiment. It's different than what I infer from the OP. He seemed to not understand what was going on in the plot. While it can be difficult to put the pieces all together, they are there. It just requires a little more work and recall than some books. Personally, I love that and it helps me get some re-read value out of the book. If EoW isn't your cup of tea, that's cool. It's not for everyone. Saga is a much warmer book. EoW is much more serious, which makes sense given the subject matter.
  14. Why did all of this stuff happen? Is that what you're asking?
  15. WTH is this? Dammit, Mike, get with the program (btw- I'll be in PA on Thursday, so maybe I will finally pay you for those books....). Maybe it's Low Life. It's one of Ed's early indy books. Let me guess, you want to read it? Fine... I'll track down my copies and lend them to you....
  16. For me, Gotham Central isn't. Brubaker book. It's a Brubaker and Rucka book. Still, I totally love it. My list: 1) Criminal 2) Sleeper 3) Fatale 4) Catwoman 5) lowlife 6) incognito 7) captain america 8) Scene of the crime 9) pajama chronicles (maybe the worst comic ever... Ed's first published work, which he both wrote and drew) I haven't read his daredevil run an I am not counting Gotham central, which I would rank at 3 or 4 on the list above... or maybe #2, or iron fist, which I'd rank at 8 or 9, even though I thought it was awesome. All but number 9 on my list are amazing and I would re-read with no hesitation.
  17. Hey dude! Ryan Maddux here. Glad that you got those books! Did you ever get those Stan books back from SDCC? Still need me to get that one book pressed? Ryan Hey Ryan, Just got those back yesterday all came back 9.8s save for the White Ultimate Spider-Man #1 9.6 I need to get the grader notes to find out why it got down graded from the 9.8 that it was to see if pressing will be worth it. Sounds good. Offer stands to help if it's worth your while :-)
  18. Weird. The Census doesn't have your book listed in the tally, unless I'm overlooking it somehow. Yeah I noticed that as well. The verification page comes up when you search for it though. Not sure why the census is messed up. The census updates every Monday or Tuesday. If they shipped the day of the last update, it won't be in the census yet.

  20. We all know that you're waiting for the 9.9 :-)
  21. We share the same tastes. Except I have only read one issue of Chew. I need to get me a run... Maybe that's why we don't hate each other :-)
  22. Embarrassingly, I finally got caught up on Saga yesterday (I was two issues behind). I'm glad that I did. There are a few books out there that have a tighter hold on my interest these days (EoW, MP, Think Tank, and Chew), but yesterday reminded me that Saga is one of those books that I need to keep up with. Now I just need to get caught up on Five Ghosts and Bedlam....
