  1. Do you know anything about the collection with those marks? I've seen a number of tough PF books with that same "M" on it. But I don't know anything about it.
  2. It's cool to see a side by side comparison like that. Especially since you rarely ever see these books for sale in decent condition, slabbed or otherwise. At the latest NY show, I looked through most dealer's boxes for tough PF books: Romance, reprints, Westerns, and horror. I could find copies (lower condition, unfortunately) of most books. But to find any copy of a PF Romance book was a very tall order.
  3. Nice TODs. Tom Palmer always did a great job of filling out Gil Kane's pencils. Although it looks like the bullpen might have changed Drac's face on the #3.
  4. I've bought multiple books from Bob. Perfect transaction every time.
  5. Here's a book that, like the Vampire Tales #1, owes a lot of its design to the PF books. It came out a few months after Marvel ended the Picture Frame covers. But I think it's at least a distant relative to the genre.
  6. Here's a neat ad you might like: Very cool. It's interesting to see how they re-purposed the original cover from Thor #127. I think most of the reprint PF books had completely new covers, but this works well.
  7. By the way, Gemma has been particularly awesome lately and just added a complete set of Picture Frame Marvels to the registry. 388 books! Some of the slots for the more obscure titles like Wyatt Earp and Ringo Kid aren't working yet, but you'll get the idea anyway. I'm very curious to see what collections are out there. Picture Frame Marvels Registry
  8. If MSE 4 is the one with Odin holding Thor, then I have a few HG copies, but forget about ML 14 - that book almost doesn't exist in HG. Yep, that's the one. Only one copy has ever been graded by CGC, a 9.2. Strangely, there are 5 My Love #14s in the census. One 9.4, two 9.2s and two 8.5s. That surprised me.
  9. Great books, MC. Did you happen to snag any of the other hard-to-find 25¢ picture frame books like My Love #14 or Special Marvel Edition #4? I've never even seen a high grade copy of those books.
  10. All great books, joeypost. But I'm a big fan of this one.
  11. Thanks for posting that interview. It's very cool to get an insider's perspective on this stuff. When I think about great Marvel covers from the '70s, more often than not, they were pencilled by Gil Kane. Even if we were usually looking up someone's nose.
  12. Some new arrivals. Sometimes it seems like Don Rosa was the only guy who kept these 1970s Westerns in nice shape.
  13. Great books, MasterChief. I've never seen a nice copy of this one before.
  14. Small world. I bought that book raw from Vincent Z. in July 1998. It was right when Vinny and Carbonaro unveiled the Oakland books. Took a very long subway ride to the Far Rockaways for that book and others. Glad to see it found a good home.
