  1. I wonder if anyone else realizes that there is up to a 25% buyer's premium on each lot in addition to applicable taxes? In addition, I see what @shadroch said in regard to the chain of custody of the item. They just drop it off at UPS and UPS boxes it up while the auction house takes no liability for damage after it leaves their hand. So basically, if they want to toss the comic loose in a floppy mailer, then there you go. To @waahehe94 I have to be honest here, if you can pull some of these items and consign them to a more reputable auction house that knows what they are doing, I would be willing to risk more with bidding, but given these circumstances, I don't think I am willing to bid as high on these books as I would with more auction houses that deal with comics.
  2. I am stealing this word for word for the GI Joe FB group once I am finished selling there. Without using specific examples, they are 'deeply upset' that the GI Joe movies are not made in reflection of the exact writing and execution of the TV cartoon or Hama's comic book series.
  3. You would not happen to be or have ever been an Overstreet Advisor would you? Asking for several friends.
  4. And more nightmare fuel for some of you.
  5. Whatever became of Technoviking ? Wrong answers only. Go
  6. And just for Kav... pleasant dreams.
  7. Why is this thread still alive?
  8. It was ... a filler movie as far as I am concerned. Han comes back and we get a little bit of a reason why. The end tag was more important than the majority of the movie. I felt that Cena was introduced so Dwayne Johnson is no longer needed. Fast Five is still the best in the series. But again... I felt it was a filler movie to get us to the end for the final two(?) movies. Maybe... Green Knight next... maybe.
  9. As I said in another thread I thought this was the most 'fun' movie I have seen all summer. It was very enjoyable and I smiled the way I did when I saw 'Pirates' for the first time and I hope there is a sequel. I promise it is worth the time.
  10. Alternate ending has leaked. News was up on Yahoo. Watch it here before the mouse removes it. It originally bookends the opening scene and Widow rides her motorcycle down her block in Ohio watching kids play, "Avengers". The ending is sweet (charming).
  11. It will also remind you of the Mummy with Brendan Fraiser I think the greatest missed opportunity this season was Lego not pursuing their option to develop sets for this line. Lego already has the Disney license so this would have been a no brainer as they already did Adventurer style sets years ago.
  12. I think you will really like it. There were even a couple of things that I didn't see coming. I genuinely liked it.
  13. Jungle Cruise was better than Black Widow and Suicide Squad. I saw that this morning. I had the same smiles watching that as I did when I saw the first Pirates of the Caribbean. I am hoping for a sequel and if they do that route I hope it lives up to the same charm and sense of adventure. I need to get back to Fast 9
  14. Society has become more litigious over time placing the onus of responsibility upon the theater rather than the actions of the underage patron. Think of it like sneaking into a bar. There seems to have been more people being illegally served when I was a teenager but nowadays if you are caught serving someone without checking an ID the bartender can be fired on the spot. The result of this is that when it comes to bars is that underage patrons seem to gravitate toward drinking more heavily and in places outside of the bars. The same seems true when it comes to R rated material. If they are not allowed in, they can simply pirate their movie at home. (I am watching Fast and the Furious 9 in the other window as I type) or they can absorb that level of content in other ways. This is the internet age. Why would a 15 year old pay $15 to sneak into a movie and get some snacks when they know how to pirate the movie in an easier way than I am currently doing. I've been told by a teenager btw... that I am fine in watching something like Fast and the Furious 9, Black Widow, and Jungle Cruise but I am not okay in posting the link to where I am doing that or hosting the movies. I checked and the teenager was correct. They know more than us. Beware.
  15. When the license was up for grabs Kre-O (Hasbro) and Mega Blocks were able to secure it. Personally, Star Trek is more vanilla of a license for Lego than Star Wars is. Lego has an internal doctrine of not providing for their toys to model any real world conflict or military vehicles. Exceptions have been made when it came to the Wild West or Middle Ages / Castle as those are depictions of historical conflict. Classic Space and Blacktron / Futron were classified as Sci-Fi. Star Wars is a licensed property but again, sci fi make believe violence. Star Trek should be permissible. The problem is whether or not Paramount wants to grant Lego the license or they can come to terms. I know that there have been a few Lego Ideas proposals over the years that were instantly rejected by Lego due to licensing issues. I want to say 'eventually' on this but people have been asking Lego for almost a decade and Lego just shakes its head.
  16. @Bosco685 For the Star Trek fans. Drops September 8th for $500 Details and Specs here - There is a USB connection for added play features to augment the experience. Playmobil Enterprise https://www.playmobil.us/star-trek---u.s.s.-enterprise-ncc-1701/70548.html
  17. I liked it. I'm not running out and getting a dog to name it after one the characters liked it. I liked The Suicide Squad more though. I also finally sat down and watched the Lincoln Lawyer the other day... I liked that more than both of these
  18. I liked it. It could have been a 4-5 episode miniseries on Disney+ though. I have a feeling I might be saying that a lot moving forward to be honest about quite a few MCU films.
  19. And let's not forget the sites that stream the movies for free. With early access people are simply recording them off of Disney+ and other streaming VOD sites using basic screen recording software. Which is kind of how I am watching a perfect copy of Black Widow right now as I type.
