  1. @PeteFromPetesBasement might know of a bunch of guys sitting around busting balls drinking booze and cursing from Pete's basement in Brooklyn.
  2. Many in this person's age group are always moving on to the next bigger and better thing. My initial doubt when it came to bitcoin was that this would be the case and they would move to the next cryptocurrency abandoning bitcoin or it would be a passing fad. At $32,000+ per coin, I don't think this is a passing fad anymore.
  3. Yeah... I know Don't get me started.
  4. I think Romita Senior did Spider-man better than both Kirby and Ditko... but that's always a 'fun' one to bring up.
  5. Well I am in WTH mode... There is a thread that was posted about pulling things from a grab bag or lottery type distribution packout. I was going to show off a card I had received... I went to where I keep my baseball cards and... well... uhhhh, "Where are the baseball cards?" I narrowed it down to this thread when I asked questions about my Jordan rookie card. I pulled my box of cards on July 8th. I took a pic of the cards and after that, I have no idea what I did with the box. So, what's missing? Jordan Rookie, 1st couple of Jordan cards, PSA Jeter Rookies and other rookie cards. Pack In signature cards like Yogi Berra... So... somewhere in the house stashed away is a box of PSA graded cards... sigh...
  6. ughh.... I had something to show... but I cannot find it... uh oh.
  7. I know someone who bought into bitcoin very early and has at least 500 of them... he pays his rent with it and uses it whenever he can as he enjoys a simple lifestyle... just wants to go do what he wants to do and live as spartan as possible as in no car... but lives in an apartment. For the past year, he pays his rent in bitcoin. If he sees someone that uses bitcoin as a means of currency and it is something he wants he will use bitcoin no matter how small or big the transaction is... Personally I do not really 'get' how it all works so I cannot answer too many questions.
  8. Here is what Mycomicshop has catalogued whether it is in stock or not. I did a search for Gemstone and then look at the EC titles... I got around 300 if not a little bit more.... https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?PubID=9331
  9. "That's what she said." And she said it again, and again, and again, and again.
  10. As someone who occasionally sells, it is on the seller with exceptions: 1 - If you are an adult and do not know your own an address: If you did not update your PayPal account and it shipped out to your old address, that is not my problem. I only ship to the address that eBay gives me or PayPal gives me. Telling me midway through that you had it sent to the wrong address is something I will try to help you out with but the onus falls on you. Even a big box company is going to raise an eyebrow at you trying to make a claim because YOU had your item shipped to an address you do not live at and then claim you did not receive it. 2 - If you are the victim of a porch pirate: Take that up with your local police department. If it is marked delivered and someone steals it off your porch, and you are that misguided to tell me that as the reason you are seeking a refund, I will look online to see what police precinct watches over your area and send you back all of their information. This is why as a buyer I go nuts when a carrier, usually Fed Ex, signs for the package themselves and drops it off somewhere. Then it is up to me to put pressure on the carrier which has had to happen before.
  11. Any chance you have a lead on the figures that went with those Star Wars Hasbro Comics? @fastballspecial
  12. Pain in the tuckus you are... Here is my 9.0 Want me to take a photo with the word Beyonder on a post it?
  13. Not going to burn out the markers... but if I had to get rid of the red... I would go gray where the red is. I like the circle eyes though...
  14. I have to print this out and break out the markers... I don't think I have crayons laying around anywhere.
  15. I think the problem with the new one is the garish color. I just printed out a black and white copy, since I suck with digital drawing and coloring, and I want to recolor it... I think it 'can' look nice in another color.
  16. Agreed... now.. for the first two... 1 - It kind of makes sense covering Batman's entire face as recent decades have shown the bat suit to be 'utilitarian' in design. A partially covered face may not be as intimidating as an entirely covered face. However, what was the motivation in partially exposing Spider-man's lower jaw? (I am assuming the ears are covered) 2 - Batman's wings. Obviously you knew what you were going for in the cape / wing design. What's the story behind that? Do they serve the same purpose as the modern cape? Do they expand? Do they offer flight? Protection?
  17. I have questions. They are normal questions, I promise.
  18. We're doing this? Ok, we're doing this... So, let me preface this by saying that I love my mom. We are umm... 3rd Generation Brooklyn Italian Americans... we still got the spoon. Now, before we go into wild stories of child abuse you have to understand that my brother and I were perpetual ball busters. Straight A's... well behaved... but when we got into trouble... it was go big or go home... and since we were usually home... we had no other choice but to go big. Some kids got into fights with their siblings... my brother and I got into a full on water fight, inviting friends to come over to take sides. It got to a point where we had the bright idea to drag the hose from outside into the den and attack people at full blast. The basement dehumidifier was a free bucket of water and once that was thrown, spackle buckets were filled with water as people ran through the house attacking each other with water. Mom came home in the middle of this that one kid ran out of the house in terror and I did not see or hear from him for almost 25 years until he popped up on facebook. I was in 8th grade. Then there were parties were there was a live band in the house... then there was the time we watched a kung fu movie and decided we could also throw knives so we went into the garage throwing screwdrivers we learned out to get them stuck in the wall... there are more things but that is for another time... So... we got the spoon... I remember the last time we got the spoon. I must have been in 8th or 9th grade so my brother was in 5th or 6th. I forget what he did but I remember thinking, "He done did it now" or whatever the equivalent was back then. Mom went for the spoon... and the spoon cracked against my brother's leg. My brother... or my fool of a brother laughed. He laughed and picked it up, snapped it in half, threw it at my mom, and laughed. That's when I realized it was time to go and I did not see the need to finish watching this show. Next thing I know my mom is chasing my brother around the house with a wooden meat tenderizer. Good times. The last time I ever got slapped upside the head was when I was 21 and it was a three stooges move. Years earlier my brother and I got into a fight while my mom was at work. As anyone knows, no matter how hostile a fight you are having with a siblings, all hostilities break off and an immediate truce is declared upon breaking something. Suddenly you go from lunging at each other's throats to, "Mom's gonna kill us." So... during this fight my brother came rushing at me to tackle me. As he charges, I stepped aside and gave him a push. This kid's head went into the wall like this was a Bugs Bunny cartoon. He pulls his head out and we both look at the hole in the wall. We jumped on our bikes and went to the hardware store and the comic book store. I bought some extra comic book boards and wallpaper glue. We found the stash of wallpaper and covered up the hole. It was right over the side of his bed so she never noticed... We did a good job and he always kept his pillows there. Until years later when he was packing up to go off to college. We were loading things up when my mom finally noticed it. She yelled at my brother and yelled for my dad. She asked when did this happen and we told her that it happened years ago. My brother... my foolish brother... he says, "You can't yell at us for that now... it happened years ago." Me... my foolish self... I am standing right next to him and I say, "Yeah, that happened years ago, you can't yell at us now." With that she slapped my brother upside his head and his head went right into mine three stooges style. We had to pay to have the wall fixed. Good times.
  19. Back in 2018 I was away for two weeks. I had bought a couple of things on eBay and when I arrived home, I opened them to find that the seller had done such a good job bagging and boarding the books he sandwiched the raw copies in between backing boards. I just stuck in a box and moved on. It was not until around this past fall that I finally rediscovered a few copies of the first RiRi and Shuri. As far as misplacing a book? I could not find a copy of Batman 227 in a 9.4 for awhile... turned out I inexplicably put it in a box of yellow label books. What am I currently missing? I could have sworn I had like 3-4 raw copies of ASM 300 beside the slabbed copy. I went looking in my raw run and only found one raw copy. Now, I cannot remember if I sold a couple or if they are filed away in the wrong ASM box. I do not have a colossal collection either. Non comic stuff? When I was a kid I was worried that someone might take money of mine so I hid $100 bills that I would get in between comics and their backing boards. Someone got lucky... let's leave it at that. Around ten years ago, I had misplaced a 1st Luke with double telescoping lightsaber from the early bird set. Realized later on that it was not in the house but in storage at a relative's house with misfiled with GI Joes.
