  1. Rick Famuyiwa on 12/11... Hold my Glenlivet
  2. I think it is also a matter of perspective. I paid $2,300 for my X-Men 1 in a CGC 4.5 from Comiclink back in April of 2011 according to my purchase records. Joey pressed it and it came back a 5.5. I just checked GPA on a 5.5 and it is north of $10,000. I am at a stage in my life where $10,000 is abnormal to me for a copy of X-Men 1 in a 5.5. However, these prices are normal to the next generation of comic buyers and if they see a copy of $10k they are willing to throw it down. Now this is why I say it is a matter of perspective. You see, I am willing to bet that the guys that paid $1200 for their copy of X-Men 1 in around the same grade back in 2003 thought it was nuts that I paid $2300 for the same copy eight years later. I am hoping that the current buyers paying these prices are not only guys investing in high grade first appearances but also new blood that view these prices as normal or just the prices you have to pay to get a copy. Remember, the generation before us thought we were nuts paying the prices we did.
  3. And here comes the "deal" - @Bosco685 https://www.thewrap.com/amc-hbo-max-deal-warner-bros-talks/
  4. Like I've been saying, I do not see people returning to the theater. Some people need that theater experience. Others just wanna watch the movie. Now they can do so in the comfort of their own home. Eventually I see movie theaters just dying out except for novelty art house type theaters. After the studios kill the theaters and the middle man they will start charging to see individual movies through a streaming rental platform direct from the studio. Every studio has an app. Every studio offers a PPV/rental platform directly for their movies.
  5. Very sorry to hear about what your wife and your family are going through right now.
  6. First I bought? Pretty sure it was a couple of 3 Pack of GI Joe comics at Toys R Us... I had some assorted comics but these were the first I bought. I know the first Spider-man comic I bought was Web 26 I know the first ASM comic I bought was ASM Annual 21 and ASM 292. They were on the newsstand at the same time.
  7. Thank you to everyone. Book was not trimmed... and it is on it's way back to me.
  8. Festivus is not for another 20 some odd days.
  9. That is your celebratory purchase for being tied for first place... and you didn't even know it. Heh... and you probably do not even know what you are in first place for...
  10. derol-441 Devin Rollins Muncie IN 47303-2046 Just closed out a claim against him. He took the best offer of $63 on a GI Joe toy that I was offering for $70. He never paid and never responded to two invoice requests and notification that I was making a claim against him. Add or don't add. He is not new on eBay but he is still young in his eBay account so he may be liable to do it again.
  11. Sure... Keep in mind that I want top dollar for it... and I mean top dollar. While money does not buy happiness, money allows for opportunity and more opportunity is better than less opportunity.
  12. Casting for Daredevil seems to have been done by Netflix. The casting directors were Laray Mayfield and Julie Schubert who I am of the understanding were put in that position by Netflix after they had already cast, House of Cards for the streaming network. Again I could be wrong as I do not know the terms of the contract but Mayfield and Schubert were the casting directors. There seems to be more of a shared production more along the lines of what Sony and Disney did with Spiderman than what Disney did with ABC as Disney is the parent corporation of ABC while Netflix is a separate company and media platform.
  13. I completely disagree... This pandemic shook people out of their comfort zone and perhaps opened their eyes to reevaluate priorities. At the end of the day, this is nothing but 'stuff'.
  14. My Heir to the Empire 1 has still does not show any movement. No tracking... no nothing.
  15. So tomorrow the rights of Daredevil revert to Marvel so they may create new live action media featuring the character. However, and this is where those that are more in the know, know more than I would. I am going to already admit that I could be very wrong about this. I am under the impression that since Netflix cast Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio, Netflix is responsible for creating their 'version' of Daredevil and for those characters to continue, as well as for those storylines to continue, Disney would have to pay Netflix a producer or development credit. This is what happened when Disney received the rights to produce Spider-man on television. While Sony retained the movie rights to the character, Disney gained back the television rights while Sony was in the middle of the Spectacular Spider-man series. For Disney to pick the series up they would have had to continue paying Sony a fee for creating and developing that series. Disney being Disney said screw that and developed their own series for Disney XD which debuted in 2012. Now, this is not like Deadpool where Disney outright purchased FOX. So, technically I 'guess' they could hire Charlie Cox to play Daredevil again. Connery played Bond outside of the Broccoli series. But I do not think that Marvel could just pick up the directly storylines from Netflix.
  16. I was always taught that if you want to protect it you better bag it.
  17. Johnny boy.... come on now.... Try to sleep soundly at night thinking that is true but I also sell. If you think I am going to spend money with you then you are wrong. I am sure there are some on here that will. But there are some of us that realize that anything you have to give can eventually be found with patience and time from someone else.
  18. So here is where we stand with something like this. @Jshaffer7390 when you post a book and someone claims it you sell the book. Reneging on a deal makes you famous for all the wrong reasons. You may scoff at a probation list but you should know that we will all easily pass around your information and your email address and your real name. You see, I am not going to miss out on opportunity cost wasting my time in your threads. I will tell my personal friends, @jaybuck43 and @PeteFromPetesBasement and @trenchdaddy and @Phalanx25 and a host of others that are silent watchers on these boards. They should never deal with people like you because when you reneg on a sale you are wasting their time. You may not see it as a big deal because you did not take their money but what you did was waste their opportunity. If I committed my money to buy your book, that means that I did not buy someone else's. If I had known that you were going to reneg than I would have bought the other. By the time you have reneged that book is gone. So... honor your commitment... you are making a terrible name for yourself. And in this hobby, you are your name. @BlowUpTheMoon, how is that?
