  1. Here is my reason why... and perhaps and further explanation clouds the auction and drifts into threadcrapping. "...So basically (you set the time) let's say you implement a 30 minute rule. The auction closes for each book thirty minutes after the final bid. You are NOT eBay where you are generating traffic so you have to give more opportunities to a limited audience. Eventually if I wanted to game the system on your auctions I am going to wait until the last minute and place a bid of a few dollars more at the last second as it closes and hope to beat everyone else. If you implement a time extension rule like Metro / ComicConnect and Heritage does, then you eradicate anyone from gaming your rules. I am actually at more of an incentive to bid early to forego any of the nonsense at the end and weed out certain bidders. This would also allow bidders a chance to return and take the book home..." Because eventually, no one is going to bid at all and just put in minimum small bids to see who takes a book home for a song.
  2. Yup. I originally suggested a slight bit longer and listed the reasons why.
  3. If anyone is trying to order via the internet and cannot check out I just remembered the old Ticketmaster hack... Use your cell phone and use the cellular service. For some reason I was able to choose my items and check out while still waiting for my hardlined computer to check out via the web server. I don't understand the science to it... but that works with ticketmaster and it worked here.
  4. And Hasbro Pulse is overloaded... trying to check out and it's just not happening...
  5. Someone must have made a side deal... GI Joe barn find... 83' Drivers uncirculated https://www.ebay.com/itm/G-I-Joe-1983-Box-BARN-FIND-Vehicle-Drivers-For-Promotional-USE-192-FIGURES-/274508794208?fbclid=&nma=true&si=ayrrMTfkzt7DJ0nj9Rsz2x%2FkchM%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  6. For @fantastic_four I screen capped this in case you missed it. They did their version of Jimmy Kimmel's 'Celebrity Mean Tweets' Apparently they DO read what the Marvel fans say... They did not upload in order...
  7. Interesting... Dee Bradley Baker may have just revealed a spoiler... about future... Rebels or a sequel to it... I am hoping he did ... So during the segment at Hascon today, there was a comment made about them saying goodbye to their respective characters after so many years. Ashley Eckstein stated that it was bittersweet to say goodbye, Dee Bradley Baker immediately set that he, "wasn't saying goodbye just yet." Then there was an awkward pause and then he immediately said, "Well I made it to Endor... so I am still out there." Speculation abounds about a continuation of this show to see what happens to Ezra and Thrawn. We shall see it seems...

  9. This thread was originally in Comics General and was never moved over. So... for all things in the past of Rebels... For all possible future things... too it may seem.

  11. I don't believe that is the case. Which books are more likely to be faded? Avengers 1 or Avengers 4? Now, if X-Men 94 is faded I assume that was on the wall as I would with Avengers 4. However, if you group a bunch of books in number order, Avengers 1 is in front. If that is in the stack, that sees the sun. If that is at the front of the box... then that is the one exposed. As far as value, always remember that at some point Action Comics #1 was a 10 cent book. It was not worth much to anyone.
  12. Number 1 issues have typically been found with faded covers as they were at the front of the box or on top of the stack. When shopping for an AF15, X-Men 1, or any other Marvel key I ran across them. I stayed away. I wanted an AF15 with Spider-man in a red and blue costume, not a light orange and bluish gray. When I go to cons they are usually priced below the numeric grade because of the lack if eye appeal and they still often sit there. So if it structurally looks like a 6.0 and is assigned a 3.0 grade, it still may only command a 2.0 price since there is a far slimmer audience for such a book. We've already seen comments in this thread suggesting to go down in grade but buy a book with a better color strike.

  14. 11am EST it begins... https://hasbropulse.com/pages/hasbro-pulsecon-2020 Again, I am really impressed by what Hasbro is doing online. They seem to be doing it better than the other offerings when it comes to virtual cons. I say that with disclosure that I have no interest in (as far as buying) Power Rangers, or Hero Quest or things outside Star Wars, Transformers and GI Joe. However, they have put on decent "panels" for those fans. I remain impressed. (I am also hoping that 3.75" Scarlett and Roadblock will be available to purchase today.). If anyone finds early links to Walmart then please post them here.
  15. K heading out... I am picking up a Wicket that I found... this thing REALLY looks better than the last one.
  16. Yes, I am always checking MCS for things to buy. I have been fortunate to pick up some great things over the years. They run a no-nonsense and tight ship for a company their size.
  17. I have thought the reverse. If I decide to ever start parting with some big ticket items I would set my price and hold onto that price offering it on Comiclink's and Metropolis' exchange. If I wanted $10,000 for something I will only agree to a sale of $11,000 for the item to accommodate for the 10% commission they charge. This way, all I am responsible for is getting it to Comiclink. Once they inspect and verify that it is the real deal, responsibility falls upon them. If someone's significant other flips out that they spent $10,000 on old newsprint, that is for Comiclink to worry about, I have already been paid and they will put it in their auction. If someone claims that they never received it after Comiclink ships it to them, that is for Comiclink to worry about. Things like that. I have seen too many games over the years. So I would prefer to have a third party involved.
  18. Is it wrong that I actually prefer modern transformers over vintage? I have a few vintage left over as a kid and a couple of pieces I bought back that I had unfortunately sold (Countdown Micromaster base I am looking at you, ). However the only other stuff I have I found cheap at a flea market last summer. Then I see things like this... and I readily grab it. This version of Hot Rod is a regular release retail version under Hasbro's Studio Series line. It will be formally announced this weekend. It is just as good (IMHO) as the Masterpiece version. I will be getting this and Long Face Kup (also to be announced) Check out Hot Rod... none of the gaps that the $100 MP has and they also figured out a way to have a slimmer design instead of the giant backpack. The matrix effect is also stunning.
  19. I was hoping for a few surprises... I am not collecting the 6" Joe line nor 6" Star Wars. Premium membah-ship too... Wampa looks cool... but that would be like doing drugs and hoping not to get addicted.
  20. Schtaaaaaaaappppp I trust you when it comes to toys more than I trust an emergency room doctor who says, "This is going to sting a little." You know what you are talking about. I have read most everything you have ever said on the issue of decomposition of plastics to be backed up by the science and reasoning behind it. If you say that you are not comfortable with soft plastic cases then there is a reason for that.
  21. Took this home tonight ... thought I got it for a decent price. I have been looking for a presentable copy this year.
