  1. I am going through at least 50,000 files as I finally organize my digital life going through a few hundred at a time. Found this which may be of interest... it was the concept for a Voltron castle. Don't know if it ever made it beyond an artistic design... This was for the more recent lines.
  2. 51 - Turtles 51 - 1st Jennika (That's for @jaybuck43) 52 - FF52 - 1st Black Panther 53 - FF53 - 1st Klaw 54 - X-Men - 1st Alex Summers / Havok 55 - Avengers 55 - 1st Ultron
  3. Focus your sights on ASM 14 next while you can still get a presentable copy for under $1,000.
  4. Are they biting off more than they can chew? This cast is stellar in my opinion. The more I see stuff that Pattinson has done the more I believe he may be an excellent Batman. Wright as Gordon is on point as is Serkis as Alfred. Colin Farrell is underrated and so long as he is not made to camp it up, could be an excellent Penguin. The concern I have is that aside from the Penguin, there is Catwoman with Kravitz, The Riddler, Carmine Falcone and possibly more since two roles were cast but not disclosed. I mean any time you get John Turturro in your movie you sign him. Reeves? Reeves has the resume to do this film and based on his writing credits alone should indicate the faith I have in him to helm this Batman movie... But is it too busy? I know it is not supposed to be an origin story but it is still an introduction to Reeve's Batman. I really fear a Schumacher type situation where there is so much going on that nothing much gets done.
  5. Here you go... these are the four I picked up. They were marked 1983 and signed by Hama which gives an indication as to the planning that Marvel was using for their storylines given Secret Wars would be published a year later in coordination with the toys in 1984-85. Artwork is on comic bristol board. These are early concepts so it is interesting to see what Mattel did with these.
  6. Even storywise to me it is not a 1st appearance given the many other appearances that occur between the actual first appearance and the subsequent printing. To each their own though. If I want a first appearance I go after the first printing.
  7. No... absolutely not. I feel as those supporting the "yes it is" answer are those hoarding 2nd and 3rd and 4th and 5th printings of the 1st Spider Gwen or something. So lets take a book that goes five printings like Edge of the Spider-verse 2... By the time the 5th printing came out of her first appearance her second appearance (and I think third) had already been published. So no, there are modern collectors that seek things out like 5th printings due to limited distribution but a 2nd print of a 1st appearance is not a 1st appearance. "But, Buzzetta, what about the Action 1 reprints?" "Well little Johnny let me explain that... Unless you are the son of a Lebanese Prime Minister and heir to a billion dollar construction company, you cannot afford an Action 1. That is why the demand rises for Action reprints. Now let's look at those reprints. Try and tell me that the Action one reprint of ads and all that was published a few years ago is the first appearance of Superman." It's not... it was $10. It is still worth about $10. If you believe it should be held to any level even near the first printing of Action 1 then I will let you know that I have a couple and we should talk some trades.
  8. Facebook Secret Wars Dedicated Group with 1,600 members: https://www.facebook.com/groups/711494475554249/ Facebook Toy Hoarders Anonymous with 11,000 members: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ToyHoardersAnonymous/ Facebook Vintage 80's Toys with 32,000 members: https://www.facebook.com/groups/160524664101729/ I am currently not selling them but I came across the concept art for Secret Wars toys and vehicles as done by Larry Hama. I will post those when I can find the pics or take pictures of them next time I dig them out.
  9. Wasn't there a guy here who ordered some comic from China and received a pair of sunglasses instead?
  10. I've seen it before as well but I was leaning more toward a possible moisture sweat. Like is it possible to go to moisture dots without going to full grown mold?
  11. I have never pressed a book. I have had someone do it for me.
  12. I cannot agree more than this. The gf and I went out to eat at a restaurant for the second time since quarantine. Here is the criteria: The restaurant MUST have outdoor seating. The outdoor seating cannot be sidewalk seating as many places are cramming small tables and chairs outside on the sidewalk which pedestrians need to pass by. We do not want pedestrians hovering over our food or us. Tables must be spaced apart. Now, apparently this means many different things for many restaurants. We went out to eat last year at a place in the city where the tables were so close I read the menu of the dining party next to me as they reviewed it while we were waiting for our own menus. (They kind of forgot about us). I was bumping elbows with the dining party next to me. Yeah... that close. So when they move tables away it seems they are moving tables to what is the normal distance apart. So... place that normally have patio seating and are then spaced apart. Reservations are idea but many places are not taking reservations. A few places I like that are taking reservations are booked on weekends for the next 2-3 weeks. So this weekend we went to one place and found a guy standing in the road that flagged us down. It was part of the staff of the restaurant and they had their waitlist full for the remainder of the night. They closed at 10 and this was at 6:45. Luckily we found a place on the way back which turned out to be very good... good enough to go back. We figure we will be cooking all winter.
  13. How has it changed for me? I went to the beach last month. It was a five mile bike ride that I went on early in the morning and once I walked to the shoreline I plopped myself down for a nap in the sun. I woke up with this guy a couple of yards away hacking and spitting into the sand. People are effing animals. I don't trust strangers in a closed environment to cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze. They cannot keep their damn mouth shut during a screening of a film so no, I will not be going back for the foreseeable future unless I pick a Sunday matinee. The only reason I would have done that would be for a part of the Marvel Thanos saga. That has passed though, so I have no problem waiting for anything else. I know what people say. You have to live your life. However I also believe in personal risk assessment. I don't go ice skating anymore because if I fall a certain way on my left arm, I lose the use of it. So... risk vs reward... I don't need to ice skate which I always fall. I don't ride a motorcycle. I don't ride a bike in traffic. It is not worth it. So, it is bad enough I will be taking the LIRR and Subway each day. If I elect to drive then I must prepare myself for a 2hr trip each direction. I am not selling the house and moving CLOSER to the city. I am exposing myself to it more than necessary as it is. There is no need to add to the stack of odds against me.
  14. Found this at Target, Home Depot and ACE Hardware... They come in plastic containers... so... Also ordered 6 containers of amazon's version of lysol wipes and 9 x 40oz bottles of lysol liquid to refill spray bottles. I think I am ready to start taking the subway again.
  15. @greggy I have much to learn... And now I know who keeps buying up all the 1st Shadowmans
  16. Didn't see anything but I wound up buying a video game for the first time in awhile. However, as I finished up my pantry possible lockdown 2 shopping, I noticed things were unavailable so I ordered it on Amazon... I was greeted with this news. The price for the Imperial Troop Transport continues to fall. Initially offered for $69.99, it eventually dropped to $62.99 and now Amazon currently has it as $52.99 shipped. If it goes down another $5 I might buy one. For those that like the $52.99 price tag... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VJJ7YMK
  17. I think this has been an old issue well before pressing. I remember going to a flea market here on Long Island with some guy believing that his loose Star Wars figures commanded the prices of MOC specimens because he 'saw the guide'. People don't look at the grade in the guide, they look at the highest price in the guide.
  18. Just finished a Costco run to restock the pantry and toiletries... just so happens I want to stop at Target for toothpaste... walmart is not too far away either...
  19. If this thread gets locked could someone let me know? I’ve been recording pernts.
  20. When Stan started to decline in health, I started to pick up a few extra CGC SS books... This came up on CLink in the April 2017 auction so I made sure to win one. I had not seen this book dual signed available at auction for awhile. Stan signed first, Romita signed it a month later. John signed it well above Stan. I do not believe such an agreement exists, it was probably who signed what, where... and what space remained.
  21. Yeah this could be interesting... are we talking about a handheld communicating device? I am sure there are Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers material that shows things like that from the 1930's. However, if you are talking about an artist drawing an iPhone or something in a comic... that is another thing all together.
