  1. Ehh... it's very hard to negotiate. Look at the negative perception that Heritage has because their employees have bid on items in Heritage auctions. I mean, how do I know that a grader, who is in the market for a Hulk 181 might downgrade every Hulk 181 that comes across his desk over a period of time so the book he can eventually find the book he wants at the price he wants down the road? There are a lot of games that I can think of as a grader, aside from that one, to monkey around with the playing field.
  2. Who do you think you are Clayton Crain?
  3. I agree with this. This is why I do not believe that this is a failure on CGC's part to watch who comes into contact with what they are holding. I believe that the failure on CGC's part is an inventory and tracking issue. The most significant security measure should be in place with those who are responsible for unpacking and cataloguing what CGC receives. If you have two people to verify that, then they know they have the books "somewhere" and things should not go missing. After that, there should be some type of flagging for any order that is not processed within a certain amount of time. If a book is not graded in a certain amount of time they should look to make sure the book is still there and did not mysteriously walk off.
  4. Ahem... not getting into this as this will derail the thread so I will do this once here and will pursue it elsewhere. It was VERY easy to dig up your misdeeds as I am the one who did it. There were angry mobs of people on almost every forum ranging from focuses on Tropical Fish, to Mego, to Star Wars, to Warhammer, to comics. You have screwed people over in almost every hobby and collecting group over the course of thirty years. I did not have to search like "mad." I did a google search for your name and read the rage posts. I created accounts and posts like the one I made on Rebelscum asking if anyone had any stories they wanted to share, and people came out of the woodwork. Even after you were voted into the Hall of Shame people were emailing me stories and sending me links on how you screwed people over dating as far back as 1995 to when you were nominated and voted into the Hall of Shame a few years ago. Why did I go looking? I vet anyone asking for money that I am about to contribute toward to see if their story is for real. Want an example? 1995? But that is almost THIRTY years ago. Okayyyy... here. https://groups.google.com/search?q=chip+cataldo&inOrg=false In the above link there are posts archived where you did the same thing then that you are doing now. You claim that you are making amends. That you realize the error of your ways. That you are a new man. You are not a new man. You are the alcoholic that has convinced himself that one beer is okay. You have a systemic history of ingratiating yourselves towards others over a course of thirty years until you fall off the wagon and screw someone else over again. Thirty years of history does not lie. Thirty years of history show that these are not one off events but a routine and I believe you are at that routine again. I just tried looking for positive mentions of your name. THAT is something I am having to search like, "mad" for. I cannot find anything about the upstanding citizen you claim yourself to be now the accolades for the penance you have made reforming you into the pinnacle of what online businesses should aspire toward. So stop propping yourself up on a pedestal. You are a con artist. When you say you are reformed, that too is probably part of the con. You are merely currently not playing a mark. @comix4fun has a good take on it. Others do as well. However, we have MANY new members that do not know you. Even after you were voted into the Hall of Shame members came forward to share that you were trying to conduct business strictly through PMs to hide in the shadows after telling everyone that you would adhere to the forums' wishes and not do business here anymore. You are a habitual liar and that is all you have demonstrated yourself to be with your actions. And, in case this is pulled I am saving it to post again somewhere down the line.
  5. Happy 20th Anniversary to what might be one of the best threads ever. 20 years ago, on February 3rd, 2004, the wheels were set in motion, "and as SICK as it sounds, they REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY are." Now more than ever, this thread is relevant in these trying times.
  6. Cash rules everything around me CREAM, get the money! Dollah Dollah Bill y'all.
  7. The interview was about the slab switching based out of Queens, NY. He was asked if there were any CGC employees involved in that scam. It was asked and he answered "no." When the police have pulled me over and asked if I realized I was speeding, regardless of my answer, does anyone believe I am going to bring up my 100mph + drive though Canada when I had my mustang?
  8. That's when they lost me. The turnaround times coupled with seeing signing after signing. To see that turnaround times were extended to almost a year while seeing a solicitation for people that made me say, "who?" made me shrug off future submissions. Again, I have not submitted a batch of books since May of 2020. The only book submitted after that was one for the Eastman signing of January of 2021. Then issue after issue and this... and then the "perceived market value" stuff... yeah... I will hang on to stuff for a bit more.
  9. There might be a third eBay account also run by someone named Terraza that has not been mentioned in the docket as far as I know.
  10. I have had it sitting in a box under one of the city tables in the basement for the last couple of years. I wound up buying the Sanctum Santorum and that is set up as well as the Avengers Tower which I will probably put together eventually. The issue is not so much building them, it's a matter of taking the time to rearrange everything so they "fit" into the city. I might have to make a separate Lego Marvel city. I started buying the modular's when the 1st one came out in 2007 which was that corner Grand Cafe and Hotel. Each year I have picked up every one that has come out including the marvel ones. The space required is approaching a floorplan where the trains might have to be packed away to make room to a newer configuration to fit the Marvel ones. This could be... challenging... as I still have not picked up the 2024 Modular Museum and I am expecting the X-Mansion or the Baxter building to be this year's release for the Marvel ones.
  11. Time for me to finally build this a little bit each day over the course of the week @Bosco685
  12. Yes. The last two times I made an offer, one was accepted and one was countered that I accepted. One was for a a FF Annual 6 and the other for a JIM 103.
  13. Did you have that status at one point though where you were a verified witness that could press books and then submit them where they would retain their yellow label?
  14. Hasbro is having a Star Wars livestream tomorrow at 11am EST. Could be some interesting reveals and hopefully a Ventress figure in the 3.75" Collector line.
  15. I do not think they noted it on the slab, but I do have the first appearance of Quinlan Vos. Vos has so much potential that I personally could care less of the value of the book in the long term, I really wanted that first appearance in a 9.8 due to my enjoyment of the character. If they ever wanted to create a wandering jedi type series where it was season to season of him wandering the galaxy as a one man A-Team type of series I would totally be in. Whether that was via comic, animated series, or live action. His history in the Dark Horse books was quite enjoyable and to finally see him at least mentioned in the current Disney+ series of Obi Wan as having survived Order 66 made me smile with anticipation for what could happen with that open door.
  16. I liked the first two seasons to be honest. I feel like I know where it is going though. You have prominent characters that appear chronologically before Episode IV. However they are not featured in post Episode IV media. Sure you can bring up Rex, however they already establish in Rebels that Rex fought and lives past the Battle of Endor. There is no mention or appearances of the Bad Batch. That leads me to believe that they are going to Rogue One the team. I say that the remaining members of the Bad Batch sacrifice themselves so Omega can go off and live a normal life.
  17. I am totally behind Seth Rogan as The Thing
  18. Sunday’s idea… Amazon just arrived. Had to go into my Lego storage room and pull out a couple of things to complete the intended scene.
  19. You would probably see the first public domain iteration of Superman as a Superman that can leap tall buildings in a single bound but one who cannot fly. Superman is not mentioned as having the ability to fly until a couple of years after his introduction. These expirations of copyrights will mean that the characters as featured in publications of that specific time period may be reproduced and not anything mirroring the current iterations. So, if you want to make a Superman movie for release in 2034, you are making one where even the 'S' on the costume resembles that which was used in Action Comics 1 and the only powers that Superman has will be those featured in that issue and nothing that is introduced later until those issues as well fall into public domain.
  20. Yup. If you don't care then why should I care? I did it because I was asked. If one of the offended parties wants me to write another one up, sure, but all you have to do is reach out.
