  1. It is easier to try and manufacture your own fake PSA card than it is to tamper with a preexisting graded PSA card like this guy did with the comics. When you try to open up a slabbed card you shatter the holder. Unlike a comic slab, the PSA holder is sonically welded all the way around. This is why the fake Jordan cards are in fake PSA slabs.
  2. Starting to see teaser posters for this around the city. I should have taken a picture. The posters are the Ghostbusters Ghost logo with a snowstorm smear in front of it over a black background and nothing more.
  3. Wouldn’t it be funny if Funko advertised these as being factory sealed but someone figured out how to break the factory seal and replace the brand new item with a used one of lower grade? Okay I’ll shut up now.
  4. For what it is worth, I really do not see how the scam is used on a signature series book so it might be just flagged due to the account that submitted it.
  5. Yes the shop is in Brooklyn. I just found out what shop. I can walk on over there if I wanted at some point this week. I don't know if they would knowingly pass switched books through their store so I am hoping if books DID go through their door that the store owners were duped. I was originally worried that it was Royal Collectables on Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills as they are a store that would carry higher end books and are located close enough to Brooklyn that many of my Brooklyn comic collector friends shop there. Glad to see that they have nothing to do with anything involved in this.
  6. Very few comic stores of that caliber in or near Brooklyn that would carry a JIM 85 8.0 SS. I am hoping he is not confused and meant to say Queens because I would hope a certain store, which is near the border there has nothing to do with this or was not duped by the perpetrator of all of this.
  7. This is true. I recently revisited that thread. Me: "Whoever Dupcak is in this thread, I wish him death on Christmas." JJJ: "This is outrageous, this guy is wishing me death on Christmas!" I remember now. I laughed.
  8. Soooo That "might" imply: Moderation is aware that Dupcak is on the CGC Boards under a user id different from the one he had years ago Moderation is aware that the ID that they "might" be aware of has not currently posted in this thread.
  9. For what it is worth. This thread has proven invaluable. I have had prospective buyers message me asking why they were blocked from shopping with me. I directed them here.
  10. To be honest. When I sold off the majority of my GI Joe action figure collection, I dropped it on Facebook and structured a claim sale modeling the timing and drops like Dale. I made a complete killing. The FOMO was on fire and I took full advantage of it generating probably around 25% or more on top of pandemic lockdown prices than I normally should have.
  11. I mean, I am going to watch it but I will watch it on Disney+.
  12. @badback83 @thehumantorch Ohhhhhhhh Ohhhhhhhhh Ohhhhhhhhhh I know what they are talking about....
  13. FF 252. When I was a kid FF 252 was a hard book to find because comic stores would keep them behind the counter to donate the tattooz when a ASM 238 entered the store.
  14. That's the only avenue I see to send off another signed book but even then you are running the risk that the book will not be verified. Now, maybe a Stan Lee forgery is 'worth it'. Stan's signature was really a cringeworthy thing in the later years so there are many opportunities to forge that. However, J Scott Campbell?
  15. There is a very good chance that the graders have been grading tampered 238's for years. There are a lot of married tattooz books out there and I doubt that they were detected as such.
  16. Right. And that is what I am not getting. What is the purpose of monkeying around with a signed book to begin with?
  17. Now this is what I am talking about though. What are you doing with the original copy? Let's say you are screwing around and monkeying the books. When it came to the Hulks it is no big deal because you send the lower grade 6.5 missing a value stamp copy in with the 8.5 copy slab and then send the actual 8.5 copy in as a brand new submit. Now do that with a signed book. The chain of custody is automatically broken so where does the original signed book go to? Is that going to a competitor to be verified? See what I am getting at?
  18. Right, that is basically my confusion too. CGC should never be accepting a book like this as it breaks the "supposed" chain of command in their signature series program. On top of that, that seems like a bit of a problem because then there would be two SS books in that list per title and issue if I am understanding this correctly.
