  1. I usually don't have one to be honest. I like to try new things... So the last time I was at https://novitany.com/ Novita, I ordered "Black Linguine, Charred Octopus - Calabrian style, guanciale pancetta, chilies, crispy capers" as it looked interesting.
  2. I order from Amazon whenever I am running out. Before there was a rush on toilet paper and before i knew that buying toiler paper was a 'thing'... I already had the end of a 48 pack and a sealed 48 pack in storage.
  3. I have to preface this with saying that I have not eaten here yet. But everyone says that Maroni's of Northport is one of, if not the best. http://www.maronicuisine.com/chefs-tasting-menu/ I liked Orto in Miller Place, Dodici in Rockville Centre, Bacaro in Massapequa Park, Verona in Farmingdale.... they all come to mind. There is a LOT of good italian places in the Jersey, NYC, Staten Island, Long Island areas... even when we meet up at John's Pizza of all places in Times Square... their pizza is not only good but their dishes are as well. I think in some cases it's harder to find BAD italian food around these parts than it is to find decent to good places. you knew that though.
  4. Central air baby... I have central air. I don't know anyone that doesn't have air conditioning.
  5. Ever since the invention of the phone I have stopped using telegrams.
  6. I don't know what to tell you. I finally understand my girlfriend. She has worked from home for the past six or so years? We reconnected again about three years ago. In between times... she transitioned from working in Manhattan to working at home. I never understood why she was so tired and didn't want to do anything on Friday nights. Thought it was me... thought it was her daughter... but now I get it. I told her I get it now. I did not even text her tonight as I fell asleep after I was 'done' and I know she has a longer day than I do so I wanted her to have time to decompress. Working at home is draining. The demands are so much greater in a certain aspect since you are always 'on'. There is also no separation. While I hate the LIRR I appreciate it a bit. There is an hour and a half gap between work and home. I am happy when I am home and appreciative after working all day. Now with what is going on... I am already home. There is no time between work and home and the expectations are greater since "none of you have to commute." I am doing paperwork and uploading it some nights well past midnight and at 1am in the morning. So... this is uncharted territory for many. I don't think it speaks anything about your work habits to be honest.
  7. Aaaaaand blocked Some board members are already on my instagram. I don't believe there is much of anything about comics or any of this stuff on there.
  8. My MaRoe passed away in 2016 at the age of 96... I am sad to say in some ways that I do not remember her best dish... But in other ways I am glad to say that. I bought the house from my mom and my Aunt after she passed in a little bit of a bidding war with remaining family and a stone cold bluff of walking away from it at one point. We all live in the area or at least my Aunt lives in Staten Island. When my grandmother was alive for the last few years of her life my mom and dad and myself made sure she didn't really have to cook. My parents cooked for her and I made sure on weekend to get take out for her. I would sneak her Taco Bell (which even I do not eat) and I would get a sandwich or I would take out food from local restaurants. Toward the end even, when she was at her worst at 96 when she would be discharged from the hospital she said she wanted to be left alone... Instead I would call her and tell her I was hungry and was going to get something to eat. "Well as long as you are going out... and that would be nice." I would offer her ice cream and she would immediately snap back to life and say I will see you in 15? 20? minutes Every time I am in my / her kitchen which I have remodeled I remember some of these pictures vividly... She loved it when I would get her food and sit with her. I would always snap a picture and send it to my mom and aunt who told me to let my grandmother get some rest. Eventually they conceded that it was okay for me to bother her anytime I wanted.
  9. Archie would find permanent happiness with Betty. Veronica is fun when you are in hs or college but would be too much drama later on.
  10. You are actually very attentive to detail. I noticed that the first time we met face to face. Most likely it is a show like Pawn Stars where everything is staged. They probably pick people that are interesting enough to watch but not good enough to win. I mostly enjoy watching Ramsay though, not so much in the cooking challenge shows but I do watch his youtube videos and his instructional videos on Amazon and can honestly say that I learned a thing or two in the kitchen from Gordon.
  11. On the Office? How DID They get that table in and out of that room? Conference via video conferencing... - mind numbing events that are hurting my brain
  12. Another neighbor is watching over that one and the village was made aware. Too many eyes
  13. Raccoons... Where I am there are too many racoons... I am not putting anything out right now. My cat loving friends actually warned me not to.
  14. One that impacted me most as a kid was GI Joe 109- 114? 115? In that story arc they actually killed a bunch of GI Joes. Here I was at around 15 and things sort of hit home. I can honestly say that it was eye opening. I had experienced death early on as important loved ones had passed away when I was young... my grandfather, my great grandfather and my great uncle all passed away within a couple of years of each other. However, comics were an escape and here Larry Hama killed off the very toys I had played with as a kid and it became real. It was around 1990 and it was the first war in the gulf. There were talks of the draft by my parents and the parents of my peers. You have to remember that my generation's parents were those that fought or protested during Vietnam and you had Saddam Hussein promising the mother of all wars. GI Joe made 'life' very real at that point. It's why I have a few pages of art from that storyline actually. As far as an adult? I most enjoyed Batman the Cult when I was in college... which I would love to have a copy but for some reason still don't own the TPB or the comics anymore. The last major storyline I REALLY enjoyed was the whole Annihilation Conquest stuff and everything that led up to it and everything that came immediately after it. I thoroughly enjoyed the Marvel Cosmic stuff in the way that you enjoy a popcorn movie. This was all before Guardians of the Galaxy came out in theaters I believe. I can say that I was honestly excited to see that movie hit the big screen.
  15. "Carole Effing Baskin?" You damn right. Hopefully the mods see the fun in this meme and share it. It's phenomenal if you are familiar with Stephon from SNL.
  16. I have two that might qualify. Right now... I have another squatter on the block. There was an elderly couple who lived across the street who were slowly becoming incapable of handling things. They had home care assistance it seems. The husband recently died. The wife went to the nursing home. The homecare worker is apparently squatting in the house. The sad thing is that the neighbor's cat was kicked out of the house and she is keeping two dogs there. The cat was looking into my house one day last week possibly looking for food. I tried to approach it but it ran off and I have not seen it since. The guy that lives behind me. I personally do not like him. They have loud drunken weed smoking pool parties all summer long. Nothing but trouble. One day though last summer, I was out back doing some yardwork and my parents stopped by. I did not hear them over the sound of the engine running and my mom was still yelling for me, "Annnnndreww" As I turned off the engine we heard my neighbor drunkenly mimicking my mom followed by "witch" (use your imagination). He had been obnoxious one too many times and I lost a bit of my temper. "Monster Trucker (Use your imagination) You gotta big Trucking mouth. Why don't you come over this side of the fence and run your mouth. I beat you in the Trucking head with a shovel. At this point I had a shovel in my hand so I slapped it on the concrete. Silence. "Yeah blank hole... that one" Since then I don't have any of his daughter's boyfriends trying to sneak through my yard, he shuts up and has not bothered me since.
  17. Love the Office. I dare because we are all stuck in quarantine and this is a way of giving back
  18. You did not read... Anything past 'Andrew' I cannot publically post. Buzzetta has been mentioned before as a family name. It was my grandparent's name on my mother's side. Every so often I revive or write a thread to see if anyone comes across any golden age or silver age books with the name 'Buzzetta' in them as my great uncle and my uncle both read comics as kids. My quest... I am directionless at the moment. Probably to be remembered in this life for doing more good than bad. Favorite color... depending on the day... I have a lot of black in the wardrobe but I also have an entire bureau that is filled with clothes that look like I should be walking around the islands.
  19. As I said... this could be fun... or it could be a total cluster... bomb. Or it could be totally boring. See what happens. Whatever it may be... it will be.
  20. This might be fun... or it might be a total let down... but I am bored on a Friday... So reddit it up. Go ahead and ask me anything. Only thing I believe I am not LEGALLY allowed to post publicly is my real name or any part after 'Andrew' or exactly what I do since this is not a private and controlled space. @jaybuck43 You are a bad influence.
  21. Although I do not partake in the wacky tobaccy as Fr Ernest once called it, I have been to my fair share of Phish, Dead and Company and Jimmy Buffett shows. I have never seen fights break out at those shows and they are some of the nicest approachable people around. However... fights? Seen fistfights at Zac Brown at Citi Field to the level that at the next incident which happened in front of me near the stage... They stopped the show... 1:06:58 It was nice in the front too... a lot of drunken Long Island 'bros' ruined the experience. We went to see ZBB at Jones Beach last year but when they announced a return to citi field for 2020 we didn't even bother getting tickets.
