I recently sold 8 hardcover tpb that were out of circulation. The amazon cost was $30-35 when they came out. Last few sales were between $275-$375 for the set. I put it up for $550 obo + shipping. Someone offered me $450 while I was in conference to which I would have actually taken that but I could not have my iPad, iPhone, other computer all make the cash register sound that eBay makes when you have a sale and I also could not get up in the middle of the conference and walk around to make sure all devices were turned off. Within a half hour of not responding they bought it for the full $550 + shipping AND using the Global Shipping Program. I honestly don't know what to say sometimes. Jewelry sales have been slower than usual though right now which is out of the ordinary. That's where I received the 'times are tough' note.

Books of any significant value... At auction: I feel that at auction as a seller it is currently riskier than usual to put things out there. As a buyer the odds are in your current favor to nab a deal. However as always it depends on the book. At a straight up sale: It is what it is. If you want $500 for a book and no one wants to buy it then if you want put it back in the box. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head to directly sell and I think sometimes people forget that. I have 246 listings on eBay right now ranging from all sorts of things. I will admit that I have already had one person tell me that they cannot pay so much right now since times are tough and for me to lower the price. Here is my question to that... if times are so tough why are you buying "x"? So I am maintaining pricing on comics, toys, jewelry and eventually shoes (just for @lizards2) Are things selling? Depends what they are. I've sold a few things in the last week or two at the prices I wanted that were hanging around on eBay for a couple of months. People are also home and tied to their computers. They are bored. They are shopping.

When we were leaving work with what looks to be the foreseeable future, I went into the utility closet and took some containers home. Otherwise they would be sitting there until after all this passes. So if you are leaving and they truly are not available, I recommend picking a container up from your job if they are laying around... Replace them when you go back to work.
