  1. I accept digital playlists lol... I figured Roy could make me a CD or something of music I should give a try.
  2. See now, and I mean this sincerely, you are someone that should write a collection of anecdotes and thoughts concerning this hobby given everything you have done over the years.
  3. Nah I’m okay with continually buying it every 2-3 weeks. If I did not buy that book I would not be buying anything else. I have a smaller collection than most.
  4. I'll tell you when he makes it more public. If he can negotiate a year to year contract he might not close up but that is not looking likely. If you figure out who I am talking about... please keep it private for now.
  5. Not for me. I personally think you have to be nuts to open up a brick and mortar in Nassau County given the current climate.
  6. Very good chance I could be wrong here... I always thought that Superman 1 in 1939 reprinted the first Action 1 Superman story.
  7. That too can be solved in Phil's Parking Lot.
  8. There are a few... but I would prefer to order them by this point. As a new customer I think a store owner would get antsy holding one title for me when I would only be making 12 visits a year to the store at a maximum.
  9. When I was a kid, Vermont had the most jaw dropping attraction I ever saw... The Bromley Alpine Slide. OMG that thing was fun... of course this was in a day and age when parents were okay with their kids flying down a mountain at dangerous speeds without a helmet. SO much fun.
  10. I said I wanted suggestions on where to get my one comic a month and not suggested means to commit suicide.
  11. I only buy one comic a month but I handle some things for him and he has helped me out from time to time. He has helped me out with charitable donations of comics and I in turn have sold off a lot of the backstock he wanted to get rid of rather than burn it or throw it out when he had too many back issues.
  12. I just cannot do that. It would kill me to think I have all of them up to a certain point... because if I didn't have them all I would probably start selling off everything I do already have.
  13. Nah he does not mind that I only get one book a month. He has known me for almost 30 years since I was a kid. He is 72 or 73 I believe and does not want to sign a new lease. We were sitting around watching baseball one afternoon when he told me and said that he doesn't want to be lifting comic boxes at almost 80 so he is not signing another 5-10 year lease.
  14. There is always Vermont syrup. Canadian Bacon is basically thick cut ham and I haven't watched hockey in awhile. So nyeh
  15. There was talk of 3D printing a "Greggy"...
  16. Final issue of GI Joe ... Here is the current 2019 data but the highest paid price was in 2008 when someone paid over $700 for a 9.8.
  17. Usual board nonsense. Someone didn't get their extra copies of the final issue of the Walking Dead and hijinks ensued. Then it is revealed that the complainant might be a bit unscrupulous. In another thread, How does one become a multi-millionaire comic book dealer 101 -lay out the instructions because they think they are ready after being around comics for a couple of years. Who should be boardie of the year and when are we going to implement the greggy awards? I may have also said that the only things I currently need from Canada is an autographed picture of Greggy, a few boxes of Dare Maple Leaf cookies, and a mix tape from you. Oh yeah... and I am sure that there are arguments going on in the modern comics section of the boards even though I don't go there because it's the modern comics section of the boards.
  18. Again... Marvel Tales Volume 2 It begins it's run in 1964. https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Marvel_Tales_Vol_2
  19. eBay is charging the full 8.5% but others are only charging the local 4% tax. I would be curious to see if eBay is using the blanket higher tax and pocketing some of it. Before people think I am nuts here, Suffolk County has a mandatory fee on plastic bags. It is a state mandated 5 cents a bag fee. However they never legislated where the five cents goes to. Does it go to the environment? Does it go for beach maintenance? Since they never legislated where the fee goes, places like Target and Walmart keep the fee for themselves. I wonder if eBay is doing the same with part of the tax when the whole tax does not need to be applied. https://www.nylawnet.com/blog/so-where-does-the-5-cents-go/
  20. I have received a few buy it off eBay offers.
  21. We will try again... "Someone" wasn't helpful My soon to be 70 year old mom, bought a copy of this month's copy when she heard the news. Where does one go to preorder online the last issues of original content through ... the end?
  22. Every few weeks I head over to my LCS a couple of towns away and buy one title and its annuals. I buy Amazing Spider-man mostly at this point to continue the run. I don't care about variants unless they are crazy unique. I just want each issue of Amazing Spider-man and the annual. So... in order to maintain my collection without having to adopt a new LCS (there are no others in my area I care to travel to) what are my options via mail order? Is it best to wait a year and then buy all of the back issues at once? Are their companies that offer a hold process until your order fills up like BigBadToyStore does with their pile of loot? I just collect ONE book and I wanna maintain it. So... suggestions? One - Let's go U2 version and a cover by Johnny Cash
  23. I've gotta be honest... MyComicShop continues to impress. Seriously. My LCS is closing it's doors this December / January unbeknownst to the customers. I am seeking a new avenue to purchase my one modern comic book a month and MCS might be the store for me. Hm... I should start a thread asking for advice on this matter.
