  1. It's modeled from the photo puppet. So it is slightly smaller than the actual torso puppet. https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Photo_puppet
  2. I have had that written on me every time. It makes it a little nerve wracking
  3. Always print out one label at a time per order. No screwups that way. Made that mistake once many years ago. Never made it again.

  7. Hasbro is going to hold back an undetermined number of each of their SDCC exclusives for order on their website at a future date. This year they actually released what day orders for these exclusives go live. https://news.toyark.com/2019/07/16/hasbro-pulse-pre-order-dates-for-sdcc-2019-exclusives-announced-352281 I am down for the Luke 3-Pack and original color Boba Fett.
  8. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG @fantastic_four You saw Unicron but didn't mention THIS... I am NOT backing Unicron... and I want to sleep on this... but there is a good chance I am backing this... 1:1 Cookie Monster? When Master Replicas did the Kermit the Frog studio version with armature and original materials they charged $300. I always regretted not getting that. Now that, Hasbro is doing one, I have the possibility to own the closest thing I will ever have to a muppet? The price is more than fair considering Kermit came out around 15 years ago. I don't know where I would put this... but I know I need to find a place as I am seriously considering this. Cookie Monster stands (yes, stands) at over three feet tall. https://hasbropulse.com/collections/haslab/products/cookie-monster PRODUCT INCLUDES Full-size, photorealistic, poseable Cookie Monster replica 2 original artwork lithographs Certificate of Authenticity To-be-revealed accessory Premium packaging celebrating 50 years of Cookie Monster CONCEPT PRODUCT DETAILS Height: 38 inches Weight: 10 lbs. (of cookies) Width: 20 inches Depth: 19 inches Fur: blue and tumbled Eyes: googly
  9. It's been a few years since SDCC Couch Tour... Not going to the big show? Trust me, I know how it feels. When you want to go to an event and the tickets are too much, the distance away is too far, or for whatever reason that you cannot go, you attend from afar. For example, tI am not going to get to go to Commerce City, Colorado to see the final three shows of the summer tour, so I will fire up the BBQ or maybe order a pizza, enjoy an adult beverage of five and order a show or three. This is known as "couch tour". The one good thing about Couch Tour is that there are no lines for the bathroom, the beers are always the ones I want and there is no cut off. I have not done one of these in years and they were always fun. So, share notable news that comes out of SDCC, link some videos, copy and paste some announcements, show us some pics. Feel free to post in this thread with newsworthy items. So pull up a beverage of choice, sit back and see what is going on for those of us left behind.
  10. Conversation over... @jcjames won the thread.
  11. No one is banning you...there is no instigator on either party... I will sum up what RMA is trying to explain in fewer words. While you may have had a final resolution to what you perceive to be minor issues with Desert Wind / Celestial there are quite a few that find their business practices and how they handle themselves to be lackluster. Personally I do not trust them to facilitate books. There have been accounts of missing books, switched books, lost books, delayed books, and no responses to the run around and way too often. Personally I would not use them.
  12. Good call, I forgot about that one. I have the whole series on my computer and am listening to that now. Also shows how great Sting is. I like his version of that as well. I Hung My Head (Cash version) seems like a natural relation to "Don't Bring Your Guns to Town." - Just because I love my jam bands like Phish doesn't mean I don't listen to and love a lot of other stuff.
  13. For reference... Also shows how amazing Rick Rubin is as a producer... What Rubin does on the American series of Cash albums is unparalleled. He has assisted in some of the greatest music from Johnny Cash to the Beastie Boys. Ain't No Grave
  14. - I deleted it as I wanted to write a comment in it and could not find a way to insert the words without screwing up the whole post. Outside of, "Hurt" and "Ain't No Grave" I truly believe that this was one of Cash's greatest later career songs. All three songs are some of the most haunting things that he did toward the end of his career.
  15. Wasn't the majority of the church collection left in stacks in his basement?
  16. Dinner was delish... going to post it on the ol' Instagram since I was told a couple of days ago that I should permanently resign myself to a Tiki bar / hut.
  17. Great question. I work in Brooklyn and travel through New York City every day. I live in a village on Long Island where the population is 17,000 and the surrounding town is another 21,000. There are actually quite a few comic book stores in my area and travels however I am severely limited in buying opportunities. The collections are just not making it into stores anymore and when they do I find that it is cheaper to get things online even with the new taxing system. Yes, Metropolis Comics is within my reach but that is not really a comic book store. You can go to Metropolis by appointment to buy specific books that you have already looked at online. Don't think you are going to their offices to browse through boxes. Here in New York, MOST everyone is savvy enough to take the good stuff to eBay and sell on their own or consign to a comic auction house like CLink or to a reputable bigger dealer like HighgradeComics. The days of a full ASM run walking through your LCS doors are very few and far between if at all. So... what does one do? I shop online. I get better deals online than I do at NYCC, than Craigslist, than local Flea Markets or things like that. I would say that if it was not for eBay, ComicLink, Heritage, Metropolis, Reece, Storms, (I know I am forgetting someone) I would not have the bulk of the 'cool stuff' in my comic and art collection.
  18. Ehhhh.... Mr President.... that is not entirely accurate... It was my understanding (I may be wrong) that GA DCs used a different paper stock than GA Timely and Fiction House and all the rest... this is what also allowed quite a few more DCs to survive with more supple pages than Timely's. This has allowed certain books to remain white and supple over the years while stacked in the corner while other books are showing their age. I think that @RockMyAmadeus is the guy that knows about the paper quality of bronze age marvel and how it compares...
  19. I too have had a similar situation a few times in buying signature series books. It happened with a Joe Simon book as well as a Stan Lee book. In both cases the sellers realized that they no longer had that book and then gave me a pick of anything else that they had at either a discounted rate. I wound up getting a different Joe Simon book and a different Stan Lee book. As a seller myself I mistakenly sold the same thing twice. I immediately made good on it and the buyer was please with my effort. I learned from my own experiences in this case as a disappointed buyer how to make it right as a seller. The thing is here that this guy doesn't care and with good reason. He knows that at the end of the day, that unless he seriously did some harm, that people will still buy from him and people will still sell to him. Why? Cool Books. And that is a shame. There are a couple of people I will never deal with no matter what the deal is... some people though like the drama.
  20. I find it almost annoying that we care more about whether or not this guy is on a probation list than he does. Yes I know some of are in debate to determine how a situation like this should be handled. But some are debating as to whether or not the individual himself is the entirety of the debate. This guy obviously does not care... so... with that said, when people are advocating for one position or another, perhaps it is best to remove the individual from the scenario and merely debate how situations such as this should be treated moving forward. When I think of it in terms like this, I begin to drift away from permanent probation list. Maybe the concept of the probation list in of itself should be changed where probation list members have a certain time period to rectify the situation or they graduate to the hall of shame or move off the list after a certain amount of time otherwise the probation list in of itself is a hall of shame. At the end of the day, the lists are only as strong as the users that uphold the sentiment behind them. There was a member of the Hall of Shame trying to do business on the boards through PM last year. While some outed him, I am sure there was probably someone that went through with transactions and took his money. So... some food for thought.
  21. Me too actually... There was a dealer here who took a preorder for a book and then sold it on eBay as the book went nuts in value. I was basically told, you can do what you want, as I was only a couple of years in on the boards, and people will ignore you because of 'cool books'. He was kind of right. But, I never did business with them again, I made sure that my friend at least got his book, I received a refund and paid a little bit of more money to get that book, which I still have.
