  1. It's why I pay the money for a SS book after the fact. Desert Wind / Whatever else they call themselves? Never trusted them, never will. Dirty scoundrels if you ask me and I don't care what CGC's "relationship" is with them. I don't trust them.
  2. Sometimes there is nothing more fun than a chaotic girl. Just saying. EDIT: Oh yeah, when shopping for comics I wanna see organization.
  3. Hey, I live out on Long Island. Last week, I refused to move for 'showtime' on an already crowded subway. It got ugly. Surprisingly, they backed down and I didn't get killed. Sometimes you have to be a little crazier.
  4. NYC Fun Fact: If you see a woman yelling at someone in NYC and she takes off her hoop earrings, you should take out the cell phones, go to the camera app and stand back... someone is about to throw down.
  5. No brainer... I have the 2003 model of the lunar lander in the china cabinet but this updated model will find its way into the office somewhere. It comes with the patch, free shipping, and the rocket ride June incentive. \
  6. It's easier if we all just ignore him or at least do not quote him.
  7. True story... I watched a subway fight last year. One girl opens up her bag, reached in and then smeared vaseline on her face before she fought. Seems to be the thing to carry these days.
  8. So tonight for dinner I’m thinking of cooking up lime chicken breast... someone give me me an idea for a proper side... Caribbean slaw ?
  9. I have often said that if I was selling everything and anything the last to go would be the LEGO. I actually get enjoyment and peace of mind out of it. That to me is my relaxing hobby. MP Transformers are expensive though and all of mine are in their original boxes... it’s the cheaper Hasbro stuff that is silently on display... go figure Andrew, who really wants that Omega Supreme... (Caltopia homage) I should start a go fund me... (Certain Someone homage)
  10. Surely the death of you know who gives readers an opportunity to stage their exit. Should be interesting.
  11. Said the same thing with Transformers... I am fascinated by those things.
  12. I disagree with you on that. We could launch this thread into the usual boring tirade of Marvel shifting gears to express more inclusivity and their execution of that but someone is going to get butthurt over it. If you want you can take this conversation with me to PM. However, I disagree with you on this.
  13. I agree with you from a collecting perspective. However a lot of the Golden Age stories are hokey by today's standard. The methodology of storytelling has experienced a radical departure from what was written and the style to which is was written in the 1950's. Those books were meant to be contemporary to their time and not timeless and it definitely shows.
  14. At this point I happily collect GA comics entombed in plastic. I look upon them as historical items and not for reading. I buy for future value and sell every now and then. Occasionally I will pick up a boom to read just for the quirkiness factor like that Strange Adventures book where the airman is parachuting near a brontosaurus. I have absolutely no qualms about picking up a book to flip. For reading purposes I am a digital guy.
  15. I am in the process of seeking a refund for a vehicle that was missing one missile pod, three missiles, the projectile from a separate cannon, the figures sidearm, and an ammo clip. It states in the heading that it is complete. It wasn’t and Andrew was sad. seller packs well though so at least he has that going for him. The sellers excuse the as plausible so I’m not upset but I am disappointed.
  16. I have to send something back btw... I think I need to start making stickers of a meme I just made and slap it in returns.
  17. This place always delivers. I’ve been in a meeting since 8:30 so I thank you for this.
  18. I agree with you. My best backpack is primarily used in cooler weather which is a waxed canvas and leather with some fleece lining from LL Bean that I bought a few years ago before the LL Bean quality diminished to fit the price point. That bag was about $175 (just looked) about five years ago. My daily go to bag though is either a cinch sack or a Jack Bauer type messenger bag that both cost $20-25. depends on what you are using the bag for.
  19. I carry my phone, power stick, cash, wallet, keys, hard folder or box for comics. i usually buy hard too loaders at the show if I buy a raw book. I also bring a giant bubble envelope for a slab... never had a problem. I usually bring a daypack backpack or a midsize to small messenger bag. I hate overpacking and I don’t ever go to shows to pick up a bunch of things.
