  1. My account was hijacked once and the seller was listing automobiles. That was actually a nightmare to sort out. My listings were cancelled and cars were listed instead.
  2. The best part is that I believe the current incarnation of Micromasters is compatible with the vintage stuff. So the modern Metroplex was able to connect to Micromaster bases as they still used a similar ramp type connection. I am seriously thinking of selling off a few things to pick up Omega Supreme.
  3. After a back and forth between eBay and PayPal with PayPal intervening once again on my behalf eBay actually admitted that there was a problem with their system and that it had occurred to others... so... here are the basic facts and in the sequence of events. Was checking my email at work. I see an email that I sold a Funko Pop for $22.22 + shipping I see a second email that I sold the same Funko Pop for $22.22 + shipping. I check my iPhone alerts and note that there has been no notification of a sale. I check my eBay listing and notice that I still have both items for sale. (This was for a Funko Pop that I had two of) I call eBay to see what's what and they say that the problem is on my end. That doesn't make sense. I log into PayPal and note that both payments were received. However one item was refunded. PayPal automatically says I have to ship out the item. I call PayPal and they confirm that the listing is still present on eBay and the eBay has no confirmation of the sale. PayPal Rep guides me through what to ask and say. eBay confirms that their system processed a sale but now has no record of it due to a glitch. So I am not being charged fees. eBay calls it basically a Phantom Sale... here is the kicker... I am not under any obligation to do anything because there is no record of the sale as they admit their is a glitch in their system. That's a BS move... I ship the item out anyway. Buyer contacts me the next day hoping I sent the item out and seemed worried from the tone of the message wondering if I would. I guess eBay told him, "What sale?" as well. Buyer and seller seemingly happy. If I was dishonest, I guess I could have dragged my rear end or tied up this guy's $30... which would be a crappy thing to do but I am sure that someone out there might use this to their advantage. I figured I would let you know. And after writing this... I will tell say something before anyone else tell me the following, "Cool story bro."
  4. And mine again. This was the last Transformer I ever bought as a kid and I had sold it sometime in the early 2000's. I am not trying to rebuy everything I once had but I always wanted this one back. I had hoped for a faithful remake one day but once I saw that the actual Transformer was going to be released in a new modern mold with Omega Supreme this August, I realized that I would never see this base. So... I've had a few of these on watch on eBay. Here is where things get interesting. One sample that I had been watching on eBay had excellent stickers (even Countdown's hubcap stickers are present) and was advertised for $100 but it was missing the double laser cannon. I saw that the double laser cannon could be purchased as a single part from a separate seller. I was on the fence. Then, I get a notification from eBay when they had the eBay bucks incentive that the price went down to $89.99. I bought it right then and there and ordered the part from the other vendor. Upon receiving both packages on the same day, I open Countdown and his rocket base and transform it. What pops out... "the missing piece." Woohoo ! Complete countdown with extra double laser cannon. It has found a current home next to the printer. I thought about messaging the seller but I DID think I had to buy the missing piece and actually did. Side note... I was able to remove the white paint on the brick face of the fireplace. Might need to do a slight blackwash to get them to blend in with the rest.
  5. I would rather weed the property by hand... I would rather do laundry... I would rather go into the non livable attic and surround the eaves of the inside with steel wool to make sure no birds enter said attic while wearing a mask to shield myself from debris. All of which I have already done or am about to do rather than head over to Uniondale and burn $25 in ticket fees just to attend that show.
  6. Going by what I see at shows I think you will still do better online.
  7. Forgive him Hector... he knows not what he says or does.
  8. I am buying another AF15 Maybe a couple of Hulk 181's because every time we agree the book has peaked we are wrong and the book continues to jump up in price. Another ASM 1
  9. This is NOT a first print book. Whoever paid $1500 thinking it is, will be disappointed. http://www.gijoe21.com/printings.htm - Here is how to tell the difference with explanations. CGC dropped the ball on this one. Comiclink should be made aware of it and someone other than the buyer should be on the hook for it. EDIT: To see the difference as to what the label can make. Here is GPA for the two books:
  10. Yeah I’m being very selective... I mostly buy the modern stuff of the ones I had as a kid... however - this piece was the last piece I bought before my interest in the line faded. I always regretted selling it.
  11. I bought two things Damn incentives... On a side note... I finally have the last transformer back I bought as a kid. Micromaster Countdown and his base is finally coming back home.
  12. It is one thing if the comic you ordered from a straight up buy it now on the exchange is not available. That is bound to happen. That's happened on ComicLink, ComicConnect, eBay... However if at auction then I would have presumed that they had it in their possession. If they allowed the individual to list the item at auction and they did not have it in their possession and was then unable to procure the item from the seller then that is an issue. From my interactions with Metropolis, I would think that while you are not getting your art, they might not be dealing with consignments from that individual again.
  13. For every other site out there that does not have our rules...
  14. It's like Christmas morning whenever Cal makes his triumphant return. Why... it's like...
  15. My LCS as a teenager and college student was next to another business that one day sprung a water leak. The LCS (that is no longer in business anyway) decided to inflate prices and took a hose to 90's dreck to increase the damage before the adjuster reviewed the evidence of the claim. He received everything he asked for. So, who knows what something is 'worth'.
  16. Is it okay to say, “Screw him.” and “I hope he doesn’t get his books back” ? Asking for a friend.
  17. Yeah, I don't get this at all... but every time I think now is the time to cash in my collection something stupid goes on in the market that tells me to hang on longer. The good thing if things all of a sudden steadily decline I am still in a good spot compared to what I picked up 5-9 years ago.
  18. No, because like the signature series program, your word is not good enough. The chain of evidence has already been broken.
  19. I specifically came to this thread to make a similar comment. noice noice noice
  20. Definitely agree. Hisstank for the Joes and TFW2005 for Transformers.
  21. One guy got really angry with me once and I found out that even if you block him he can still continue to message you until the listing has ended. So... I ended the listing early and relisted it. Another guy though, he got angry and we went back and forth until he wrote back that one of my comments actually made him laugh and then next thing I know we are trading drink recipes and BBQ hints for cooking fish despite no transaction ever being made.
  22. I've also used... I will happily accept that offer as soon as I know who is paying for the rest of it. In response to: "What's the lowest you'll go?" My new answer: "What's the highest you'll go? I accepted four offers in the last week because they were reasonable. There was no negotiation on my part. Guy made an offer and shrugged and I said, "That's a fair offer" - Accept -
