  1. Pretty much... some guy blocked me on FB because he found the following disagreeable: Let's make believe that you have TWO AFA graded Snake Eyes II scoring the same grade. For whatever reason you have them in storage and then notice that one figure popped in the bubble or the elbows are cracking. The other figure is fine. Put them both out for the same price. Which one do you think people are going to buy first? Does one really think they are now worth the same. Now let's take it a step further. Make believe that Figure one that is perfectly fine is an AFA 80. Let's make believe that the figure on the card that snapped was at one point an AFA 85. Put them both out at the same price and people will go for the unbroken figure on the lower graded card. Why would someone pay big money for broken parts sealed on a piece of cardboard? As far as O-Ring replacement on loose figures. Replaced o-rings do not impact the value or desirability of a figure. In fact, in some cases a replaced o-ring is good news for the buyer since the seller took the risk in unscrewing a figure and replacing an o-ring on his own. I still cringe at unscrewing the back of my 82' Stalker and for it to immediately crumble in my hands. I went on eBay and closed my eyes buying an immediate replacement.
  2. Sold four items to the same buyer for $170 using Global Shipping Program. They have not paid. Who handles "the process"? I know using domestic transactions you can report the buyer for not paying and then eBay will automatically close it out. Is there a different process for Global Shipping?
  3. I came here to be scared. I've been disappointed. Greggy isn't scary.
  4. Any figure held together by a rubber band. MOTU immediately come to mind. I was watching how people fix those figures and they are screwing eye hooks or other pieces of anchoring material into the legs to rethread the rubber bands. At least with Joes you can unscrew the figure and just swap it out. Fixing a MOTU figure involves introducing new anchoring materials altogether. Joes are also suffering from a degradation in the plastic. Here is an example of a MOC figure with broken elbows. The rivets have caused enough pressure on the figure that the elbows split despite the elbows never moving. Here is an example of an Outback figure that is suffering from that.
  5. BTW @miraclemet These were recently posted in the Facebook Joe collecting group...
  6. on top of that idea... keep in mind that some modern vehicles have been improved upon as far as durability and safety features so they don't break or snap off. A perfect example is the Eaglehawk (Renamed Tomahawk) over the 80's Tomahawk. The blades are designed to pop off rather than break, the windshield and some other parts are designed with more durability. The modern day Sting Raider (Water Moccasin) is a complete remold and actually slightly bigger than its 84 Counterpart so that figures are not squished, a torpedo slides out rather than drops off (easily lost piece) and the inner well of the turret is enclosed from the rest of the frame of the boat so that weapons are not lost in the hull. I have both vehicles and there has been a reason in my constant buying and selling off when I get bored that I still keep them. The modern Water Moccasin is above me on a shelf as I speak. Check out this review... http://generalsjoes.com/reviews/2008/anniversary/Vehicles/stingraider.html
  7. Yup... I would not touch a MOC Joe... you are eventually going to take a bath in it. I have one that I have had since I was a kid because I never opened it but that is it.
  8. I'm still monitoring... 1:30 gives me time for lunch. I am already having a better time here than I would have at the Carbo show heh heh... It's also raining in NYC and LI so...
  9. This guy is a jerk... but even I have to admit... I like some of his music... this one is one of them...
  10. Sigur Ros - Njosnaveloin (The Nothing Song) I love this tune... Sigur Ros - Njosnaveloin (The Nothing Song)
  11. Sooooooo picked this up. Mom called and goes, "Your box arrived. It's in the garage. Get it out of my house." It currently resides in the guest room in the basement. It can hang out there for a few months until I figure out what to do with it. Later on they took a walk over over as we live nearby and wanted to see where I was putting the thing...
  12. This isn't who it would be if it wasn't who it is.
  13. I believe that we will eventually see modern day transformers packaged in retro boxes the same way they do with Star Wars figures. Forget about reissuing the same molds. I am talking about a dinobot like last year's versions, utilizing modern engineering sold in a box similar to the 1980's box with an exact front but totally different back.
  14. I disagree. The barge situation is SIGNIFICANTLY different than the way concert or sporting event tickets are sold. As someone who goes to an unreasonable amount of shows I will explain. Every show I've been to this year or will be going to this has been a sellout at MSG or is already sold out. Since NYE, Phish, Billy Joel, Zac Brown, Buffett, and Elton John have all sold out at their respective venues. MSG supposedly seats 20,789 +/- depending on the show or event. Most likely, because we are spoiled, Phish will do another four night run at MSG for NYE this year. That means that there are roughly 80,000 tickets available. Trust me when I say that there are still more people that would like to go. However, there are only four nights and that is it. Despite demand they are not adding shows. It is limited. The barge was made to order. I think the final order was around 8,000 (?). Believe me, if Hasbro took 12,000 preorders they would have happily shipped 12,000. If 15,000 they would have added another 3,000. The barge was unlimited and they would have made as many as people wanted so long as they were willing to pay. People complaining about the barge and did not get it fall under two categories: They did not have the money at the time They passed and then later regretted it. This barge was on TV in the news, it had stories written about it on major websites as well as it being talked about on almost ALL toy sites. There were Lego sites talking about what Hasbro did. The information was there.
  15. I am thinking of jumping in over there. But I will state my beliefs here first. Concerning the barge: It was per order. They made them to order. If you did not have $500 + tax last year to order the barge don't cry now that someone is charging too much for one. It is not my job to be a lending tree for you to front the money for the barge so you can pay me for it in installments at a price you want to pay. If I sell the piece it will be at a high premium to justify locking up $543 of my money for over a year. This leads me to my next thing. I am tired of hearing about what someone says FMV is. You want it you pay my price. If you don't think the price is fair then I will either lower it or I will wait until someone comes along that wants to buy it at that price. I have set a few records on GPA in the last few months with that concept. This leads me to my next thing. You are owed nothing in this life. I am owed nothing in this life. At the end of the day comics are nothing more than reprints of artwork on newsprint. Toys are nothing more than plastic items meant for kids that will eventually decompose. You and I will eventually decompose. Either way we are owed nothing. If you want it, you work for it. If you don't have the means to get it then you are never getting it. Get over yourself and deal with it or find another hobby. I could sell all of my AF15's and the rest of my collection and still, I will never own a Tec 27. I will also never own a Cap 1, Marvel 1, Action 1 or plenty of other books in any decent condition. That's just the way it is. I am okay with that. You know why? Because there is so much other cool stuff that I have. I concentrate on the cool stuff I have rather than the never ending search for stuff I don't.
  16. Link me. I read the news but stay out of the forums. I was very disappointed when I placed a WTB post and people would not respond with pics or prices. Makes me really appreciate our board rules here.
  17. I didn't even try to deal with that part of the issue. Figured it was beyond anything any comment I could make.
