  1. Anyone know how to request an invoice from a seller for multiple items from the App? eBay is blocked at work.
  2. Ohhh I completed my Star Wars collection with Yak Face in the late 90's. I broke down and decided to get the Blue Snaggletooth from Joe a few years ago. Occasionally I pick up an extra POTF figure if the price is too good to pass up but I am pretty much done in that area. Don't tell me about Transformers... don't infect me with that disease. I am already buying some modern stuff as well as some of the MP figures.
  3. Trust me... it is ridiculously addicting once you start picking a few up. I originally thought I would just pick up the ones I originally had as a kid. Now I am doing that and more.
  4. Mail Call of my own ! Ripcord Lady Jaye Cobra Commander (Hooded) Scarlett Swivel Arm Clutch Swivel Arm Clutch II Tan Breaker Swivel Arm Rock & Roll Swivel Arm All in nicey nice condition and all came with file cards except for Lady Jaye. There are more on their way... EDIT: Something did not seem right with Rock & Roll's bipod for the Machine Gun... Turns out it is Dusty's bipod, (which is also tougher to find). So I quickly bought a straight arm Rock n Roll that was a little bit beat but had the correct accessory. That figure will eventually be resold and now I can order an incomplete Dusty (which I still need) at a cheaper price as I already have the bipod. Whew... this is stressful.
  5. Congrats ! That swivel arm Scarlett is becoming a pain to find in such as nice a condition as yours.
  6. I don't think the wheels were in as much motion in this one as they were in another one.
  7. I think that some of those comics are in public domain which is why I've seen people make replicas. The day that they can pass themselves off as originals will be the day I take some sort of a stand against them.
  8. The prices I am paying are a bit much compared to what they were. However, there just doesn't seem to be a lot out there that has the qualifications I am looking for. Keep in mind that I am not being collector snobbish when it comes to buying these. All I am looking for are complete figs with reasonably tight limbs that don't have any cracks in them or broken pieces. I remember years ago seeing them all over the place... but now it's getting harder. I think it also has to do with Father Time. The figures are not getting in better condition as people move collections around and transport figures. I recently had to file a claim and return Outback because the seller shipped him to me and the flashlight broke off in his leg. That's not only one less complete Outback out there, now it is a broken one. Either way, I feel as if I want to make a decent sized dent in the fifty or so more figures I need to (want to) pick up as I feel that many of the Joes are going to go Star Wars level demand. I already know that I am going to pay $50 or more for a NM and Complete Firefly or a Zartan. I think you are also right though that it has to do with there not being any more product on the shelves. That will change in 2020 with the release of the Snake Eyes movie. However, that would explain the spike in modern figures (which I have also been silently picking up). What's on the way? Vintage - Lady Jaye, Cobra Commander Hooded x 2, Stalker Version 1 Swivel Arm, Scarlett Swivel Arm (Another One but in better shape), Ripcord, Clutch Version 1 Swivel Arm, Clutch (tan), Rock & Roll Version 1 Swivel Arm), Short Fuze Swivel Arm, Breaker Version 1 Swivel Arm, Modern, Data Viper, Night Viper, Agent Helix, Kwinn the Eskimo, Lift Ticket, Stormshadow Unmasked (Club Exclusive O-Ring design), Jinx - Tiger Force Joe Collector Club, 50th Anniversary Lady Jaye, 50th Anniversary Baroness, SDCC Snake Eyes Transformers Crossover, ROC Cover Girl, Blind Master, City Strike Snake Eyes (original Resolute figure), Black Suit ROC Scarlett, 2005 Snake Eyes vs Swamp Rat - Last O-Ring figures I had ever bought. As you can see, I've been busy on my phone commuting back and forth.
  9. I think it is more along the lines that many people, at least around here, have come to the realization that it doesn't take much effort to sell something online. Between the various venues, and apps, anyone with a cell phone camera can try selling it themselves. Even on TV and radio we are constantly reminded that we can "sell our own junk" online. I agree with you that the woman in question with the HW Red Line was over her head as she was not a collector. However, I really do see, at least by the trends in my area (NYC and Long Island) that collectors are turning to sell off their items themselves. Still cannot believe you were able to get to the bottom of that Voltron btw. It amazes me what is still unearthed decades after the designers have moved on and in some cases the companies themselves have folded. BTW... Facebook Pre Pro Group accepted me this past weekend... right now I am just sitting back and watching... Amazing stuff that they are put out there.
  10. In the second picture, the figure that is second from the left in the top row is a "Motor Viper". Motor Viper came with the Stun Vehicle but no other weapons. You can sell him individually as he is technically 'complete'. Depending on condition as far as joint tightness (you said they were loose) and paint apps and there not being any elbow cracks you could get a few bucks for them as a lot. $35-$55 maybe at ebay auction? If not more? The other figure that is in demand in that lot is the Storm Shadow figure directly to the left of the Motor Viper. Nice haul... try to find any accessories though as that would increase the value.
  11. While I am glad that this turned out to have a happy ending, I am making mention that I am the board member that Beige reached out to. What Beige did was NOT uncommon. We have entire threads warning members about fraudulent sales and potential scams. We have an entire thread or two or three devoted to eBay issues. We have a HOS devoted to deals gone bad. Beige reached out and told me what was going on. Since it was another board member I suggested that he go to Arch and ask what the protocol is since I too did not know exactly how to handle it. With that said, I am glad that it worked out to be a legit seller but it would not change my viewpoint of remaining skeptical as well as vigilant if something similar were to happen again.
  12. I wanted to post these when a few more came in the mail but there was an interesting story that came around with them. I had no plans to look for GI Joes today but I know of a Toy Store that was on the way to the Apple Store (upgraded from an iPhone 6, yes "6", to an iPhone Xr) so I figured I would check it out. The store I went to was Amok Time toys located on New South Road in Hicksville, Long Island, NY. I had not been there since they were at their older location on Hempstead Tpke about a decade ago. He had an excellent selection of new and old toys, sideshow and hot toys, vintage pieces and comics as well. First, I was impressed at the selection, the clientele, the cleanliness of the store, the competitive pricing and the all around experience. For all of the guys saying that they want to open a comic store this is the place. As you can see I picked up a Red Back 83" Airborne (the figure is sharp and may more pics of him later), Bazooka, Cobra Commander in Battle Armor and Thrasher. When I asked him if he had any more that he had to put out or how frequently he comes into collections, what he said supported my theory on dealers and collections these days in general. He said that he "doesn't come into GI Joe collections much anymore" and that most of what he comes across "isn't even good for parts." Most of the collections that are suitable for dealers to sell are being sold online by the original owners themselves. This supports my ideas on comics where the majority of collections of good books and toy collections are no longer being shopped around to dealers but shopped online directly to collectors via eBay or Craigslist. Why would anyone sell to a dealer at a fraction of the money that they could get for something online? What does this mean for the dealers? Dunno... if anything I think it means higher prices for buyers because either dealers will have to pay more or they will be getting their items from collections that they buy themselves online and piece out. The same holds true for comics in my opinion. Either way... Apple was going to give me a $70 credit for my iPhone 6 which was top dollar in their opinion. I held onto it and will sell it on eBay for more. Why give it to them when I can get more for it myself?
  13. Heh - mail call this weekend... got a few modern figures as well as 4 vintage this afternoon... I would like to see a few more things arrive before I post another batch.
  14. I wish it was me... but I've never owned at Planet of the Apes figures. You are welcome to buy from me though as I promise that almost all money is funneled back to support my own nonsense and I promise everyone walks away pleased.
  15. Thanks ! I wound up placing an order last night amongst several sellers and bought everything using the eBay coupon. I was surprised at the going rate for a Hooded Cobra Commander with decent paint apps AND the original gun.
  16. And once again, this is why we don't buy MOC GI Joes... This is someone else's figure and not mine... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-GI-JOE-1982-AFA-75-STALKER-ARAH-HASBRO-series-1-9-back-straight-arm-MOC/223149046122?epid=1800039540&hash=item33f4b8396a:g:Oy0AAOSwf8FbnwcL:rk:12:pf:0 Sure that's an AFA 75?
  17. GI Joe mail call... All figures are unbroken and complete (yes even Tunnel Rat with those pesky flashlights) with tight or new toy stiffness in the joints. There are no cracks in the crotch or elbows and no rust on the screws. Paint aps look like they are taken straight off the card except for swivel arm Scarlett. (Beggars cannot be choosers.) Eventually I will upgrade her by swapping out the arms on a straight arm version. From left to right and from pic one to pic two Tunnel Rat Motor Viper Copperhead Spirit with a vibrant shirt (many seem to fade) and an unbroken eagle Swivel Arm Scarlett Tiger Force Stalker (2015) version Techno Viper Lowlight (Yes, even with the bipod) Freefall Stalker - Battle Corps - last year of production Duke Gung Ho Alpine Targat Strato Viper Red Star Gung Ho - Marine Dress Blues Annihilator In order to restore my original collection: By the numbers: 48 down... 62 to go. I spent a little chunk of change to pick these up along with a couple of modern Joes I liked... wish the eBay coupon gods would have aligned but these were mostly bought through bidding on auctions from a few sellers that were offering up their collections. Coupon was offered tonight though so let's see what happens.
  18. We will see... this morning I spent $135 + shipping with another seller on 8 more figures as I try to rebuild my collection. I am hoping he ships the order in something better than an envelope or a box with cutouts.
  19. When you ship complete GI Joes by shipping them with their weapons in NON ziploc plastic sandwich baggies loose in a baseball card box (they have the open slits at the end), sellers should not be surprised that things open up in transit and things like a little gun just under a half inch goes missing.
  20. I don't think that we ever posted the eventual outcome. The book was pressed by Joe and it came back a 9.6.
  21. Well... yes and no. Growing up my Dad had a second job at department store. He used to bring us toys all the time that were either returned or opened buying them at a fraction of the shelf price. So for example he still laughs when he tells us that he brought home the GI Joe Skystriker for 25 cents because someone had opened it at the store. In fact this was standard practice for many retailers to damage items out or sell them at a deep discount to employees when I worked retail in college. So the practice was still in existence around twenty years ago. On top of that employees routinely had access to things that the general public did not. My Dad and other employees stashed Cabbage Patch dolls when they were the hottest thing and I remember he brought one home to my mom one year as a gift. Anyway, my brother and I did really bad things growing up. We were good students but did really mischievous things sometimes like just running around the house like a bunch of uncontrollable monsters. Christmas of 1986 my Dad supposedly got one at a deep discount as well as a Nintendo. Supposedly Mom was dead against it because of how big it was so they were looking for ane excuse. They both have said that it was supposed to go in the basement. Either way, my mom and dad were to give it to my brother and I to share as well as the Nintendo and that would have been all we got for Christmas. My brother and I screwed up again or didn't listen or something and they returned the Flagg and the Nintendo. We got other things that Christmas and we eventually got the Nintendo for the next Christmas of 1987. I remember that well because of the school year. We never got the Flagg.
  22. Ohhhh I got my Golden Age Batman 47 like that. Except mine wasn't sent via priority mail. It was sent in a regular manilla envelope with a shirt box side of cardboard. After it was pressed it came back a 6.0. I can only imagine what it would have been if sent properly. Seller refunded a significant amount on the book but I would have rather had a book in better condition than a 6.0 at half guide than what might have been a 7.0 or higher.
  23. See where the books were last checked in with the tracking number. Any time you get an expected delivery date you must realize that is nothing more than an estimation. All of the major carriers, USPS, UPS and Fed Ex have a strange routing system. I live on Long Island and have tracked packages I have sent out travel to New Jersey just to go to New York City. Your package may have been sent to or near one of the areas impacted by the hurricane as part of the normal way it is routed. Therefore it may very well be delayed. Give it a few more days and if it does not see any movement then call UPS and ask them to track it to wherever the last place it was checked in.
