  1. Well then... what you should do is try and track down this guy in every Facebook thread he is selling his art in and ask if you will be either getting your commission back or your $500? At this point I would say screw the commission and get the $500 back. Keep in mind that he has had a $500 interest free loan since you handed him money thinking you were getting a commission back. I hate it when people defraud others out of their money when it comes to comics and art. It leads to others not potentially trusting or doing business with reputable people in the fear that they will get scammed. He can be found in all the following groups where he continues to sell "commissions": Personal Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/castrilloanthony Comic Book Sketch Covers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/440855449274558/
  2. At the end of the day, was everyone made whole?
  3. I might buy a spare torpedo to give it a try first. When I saw that it was loose I assume it was a slight production error. It hangs on but if you move it then it falls right out. The right torpedo is snug. There are never any decent toy shows here on LI... we are getting the comic shows but Toy Shows are definitely under the radar for me or non existent. I am hoping that they are simply under the radar. It would be nice to look.
  4. Stay strong... Stay well... Hoping for the best...
  5. As I mentioned in another thread, I am severely limiting myself to only a couple of vehicles. So far the 25th Vamp, the R.H.I.N.O. APC Carrier (Movie / DTC Aliens looking thing) and these two... Cobra Moray was my favorite vehicle as a kid so when this came up for sale it was a no brainer. It is perfect in every way except it is missing the spotlight lens. I have a repro lens in place instead. However vibrant colors and tight parts. Only loose part is the left torpedo which I remember was loose on my original. Any solution for that? Water Moccasin is the 25th version. I liked it better as the gun placement and steering vanes in the back were definitely more durable and the cockpit and overall size is slightly bigger so the figures aren't cramped. Ships are currently manned by Lamprey's (both vintage and modern) and Vintage Copperhead. This is on the display area above the office cabinet until the sail barge arrives next year. (Still don't know if I am keeping that.)
  6. Here is the problem. I am a collector. I am also a seller. I have my collection but do not think for a moment that if I have the chance to upgrade a book that I am not going to do that and sell the undercopy. I am also sometimes refocus my interests. You are NOT going to find ANYONE that is going to abide by your wishes never to sell the books you sell to them. Aside from that, you are better off selling the books on your own unless you need quick cash.
  7. The following statements are true: I am not the person in question that did a transaction with the original poster. I am by no means a fine upstanding citizen. I would like to greet the person who did business with the original poster.
  8. And what might this fine upstanding citizen's name be? I like to say, "Hi."
  9. This might come to a disappointment to some... I am not a guy that displays stuff around the house much. It's a matter of personal preference. I have some art hanging up around the house. I have some things in the basement... but I'm not one for creating a display cabinet for the GI Joes... As it is I use the China Cabinet for toys dating back to the early 1900's to today. My office is a different story as I do have a few lego sets on a bureau and a few things on the desk. If anyone wants I will take a few pics and post.
  10. I notice that certain figures are trending upwards and it is tougher to find NM and complete... like that Outback and Zartan and believe it or not Spirit... Figure... if I see a deal I should grab it and to buy a few figures at a time so sellers give discounts. I also have not been playing the game of buying incomplete figures with the hopes of buying accessories later on. The only time I went against that concept was with a listing I stumbled across for the accessories for a figure that was dirt cheap and then went looking for an incomplete loose figure to join it. I would not have have normally done that though... More to come though... I have to take pics a little later
  11. Whoa... Mail Haul with a capital H... This is some of the stuff... more stuff when I finish setting it up (My ship and it's crew arrived - but that is for another thread.) So... more vintage... From Left to Right and Top to Bottom... except for those bagged figs... (All are complete ((except one)), tight limbs, no breaks) Top Row Recoil Gung Ho (1992) Zarana Wet Suit (1992) Heat Viper (All missiles and no breaks) General Hawk Eels (This was tougher to find with the better paint job for the silver Cobra symbol) Bottom Row Saw Viper Dusty Dusty (I ummm ordered one but it was sent with the wrong bipod - it was cheaper to buy another 'complete one' then to get the bipod ) Major Bludd Lift Ticket (with that PITA Microphone) 1982 Straight Arm Snake Eyes Red Card Jinx Joseph Colton ('Original GI Joe') Various file cards and my lord is that Snake Eyes beautiful
  12. I give you a lot of credit. You did a job so well done that I did not really understand what you actually did. I just had to do a google search to compare the production clothing to your custom job,
  13. @Get Marwood & I - I am late to this thread but I have to say... this was a pretty cool and some good reads.
  14. Finally a price drop... Rogue One Tank marked down to $47.99 from $79.99 https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Vintage-Collection-Imperial/dp/B076J9H33C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp&qid=1543209158
  15. Roadblock, Clutch, Recondo, and Dial Tone went to Argentina to make a deal with a Nazi scientist back in 1986. The deal was his security from the Mossad in exchange for information as to how to disable a booby trapped nerve agent device that was on a bomber frozen in ice along the arctic circle. It was actually a very good story as the Mossad know what's up and walk away and so does the Joe team. It has a very unique twist ending. I thought this was Hama at one of his best. It's also on my list of all time great Zeck GI Joe covers. FULL DETAILS From Yojoe.com COVER LOCATION: Argentina: A second team of Clutch, Roadblock, Recondo and Dial Tone are sent to make a deal with an old Nazi Doctor, who has information on how to neutralize the nerve toxin in the bomber. LOCATION: Greenland: Team Members Alpine, Airtight, Snow Job and Breaker are sent to investigate a German WWII bomber that contains an old nerve toxin lethal enough to kill thousands if released.
  16. Something is in the mail... Let's see what gets here first... a set of two of the modern crew... or the ride with one vintage crewmember... In the meantime... Mail Call. All figures 100% Complete 2 other figures arrived but the seller neglected to pack something in there... so no pic for now Top (L to R) Tiger Force Recondo (Bought the weapons as I already had the figure) Python Patrol Copperhead Outback (FINALLY !!! And the seller did what I asked and shipped the flashlight separately and securely. After three tries I finally have an unbroken Outback) Hooded Cobra Commander (Can't get enough of this guy) Zartan (Most expensive vintage I have picked up as he is a devil to find in NM condition and complete with the swamp skier - item seems almost fresh out of package) Bottom (L-R) Snake Eyes 1997 Reissue in Stars and Stripes Set Scarlett 1997 Reissue in Stars and Stripes Set Snow Serpent (This was my very first FB Group Purchase Firefly (Yes, even the elusive walkie talkie) Tomax Xamot Other stuff coming - have to sort out the modern ones I picked up.
  17. Neither do I... Not at this rate. I was kind of pleased to get her for $95... When I sold her loose I checked my records and saw that someone paid me $75 for a loose copy. Now go see what others are trying to sell their copy for... However, yesterday.... I kind of did something... it was one of those days that put a smile on my face... there was that 10% back on eBay bucks... so... I opened the wallet a little. I cannot wait for the mail to come.
  18. I thought you ran a comic store for some reason.
  19. I actually have no problem buying Dynamic Forces signatures directly though Dynamic Forces. I have a John Romita sketch from them from a number of years ago.
  20. - 4 years ago I actually really did get hurt and it required an ER visit, a surgery and a hospital stay. I sent pictures. All was forgiven and I am still a eBay user in good standing.
  21. Every year I patiently await a surprise Ric Flair balloon to tower over the crowds as the balloon handlers dressed in sequined robes scream WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! while "Also Sprach Zarasthura" plays in the background. Every year I am disappointed.
  22. Promised a mail call - for more Joes... Muskrat Desert Scorpion Stalker - (Sad but true - I recently broke the waist on my original and when I went to replace it the whole thing shattered when I tried to take him apart) Destro - Iron Grenadiers (Forgot to take a pic of his despoiler) Short Fuze Knockdown Dusty Version 2 Dodger Hooded Cobra Commander (Another one) Pythona (Modern Figure Mailaway) Lift Ticket (25th Anniversary) Snake Eyes Valom V Venom (Most detailed O-Ring Snake Eyes circa 2000) Swamp Viper Valor V Venom Shadow Tracker (Based off Predator - One of the best original characters created in modern era) 25th SDCC Zarana
  23. Then spray fabreeze on the spot to get rid of the smell... just saying
