  1. in this case I received an email notification that someone PM'd me about the thread. However there are several people here that have my phone number and will text me when something really fun arises.
  2. Thread titles were changed to things like, Roy is a Punk Rocking, Leather Pants Wearing, Steely Eyed Missile Man... or things like that.
  3. I remember when we started making a whole bunch of threads about Roy. Then about Greggy. The Roy ones were fun and he was a good sport about it.
  4. In this instance it was a case of foreshadowing
  5. This is when I miss the old boards and how we could change the title of the thread with each reply.
  6. I recently had a buyer return a $145 book because they did not like the rainbow effect on the CGC case. I said fine and I took the book back as the buyer paid for return shipping. Just for fun I relisted the book for $155 and it sold a few days after I received it back. That is a story for another thread though. Some returns I take back immediately... Other things like a video game where the guy said he just decided he wanted to return it in the message because after he received it he changed his mind and that I would be forced to take it back and then wrote ha ha or or something. That made me call eBay and fight for the $15-20 game as it was a sheer matter of principlel.
  7. I want to thank the person that messaged me about this thread. I am stuck here watching a bloodborne pathogen training video. Same video for the past 20 years. This is a much better way to pass the time.
  8. I think it would only be interesting if it were an anthology series. However, the six Jackson movies are too fresh and too well regarded to tackle the source material again. Imagine at this point Amazon, trying to put any other actor besides Ian McKellen into the role of Gandolph. The last movie came out in December of 2014. This might be too soon unless they do a "Tales from Middle Earth" type series... or create episodes set between certain movies and can somehow draw in some of the original actors... Then we could see some Rogue One type story set between the films. That would be wonderful.
  9. I have changed my mind. After a couple of recent incidents from international buyers... I am all in. On the negative side of things, it will cost buyers outside the United States more to purchase an item from me. On the positive side of things, it opens up a new door and now every item I sell will be made available on the international market. Before this, only select lower value items were available on the international market. Now everything will be made available.
  10. No, I posted it as the clocks were turning back so I think the system did not know what to do with it. It was fun to watch it as I refreshed the screen as it seemed like it was posted before other posts that were made shortly before the time change. There is a bug in the Matrix.
  11. WHOA... That was cool... I posted that message after Jim Jum but with daylight savings time it was adjusted to be posted before Jim Jums.
  12. Since the board update I stopped searching through the sales forums. I have also stopped listing items for sale in the forum. I find navigating through a sales thread not as easy as it was with the old boards.
  13. I walked away from a lot of signing opportunities at NYCC due to the cost. I walked away from a lot of sketch opportunities at NYCC due tot he cost. Let's examine the end result of people that walk away from the cost. Eventually what happens is that it does actually cut into the money that you could be making at the show leaving you only two options: Lower your cost Keep doing the same thing and wonder why you aren't making as much money. Stop attending the show because you are not making any money. I would have paid for a Skottie Young sketch but not when I see the astronomical price he wants for a sketched comic going to CGC. I just walk away and Young does not get my money. Here is the thing though... If I want the signature for my collection, I don't have to actually "meet" the artist. I have noticed that MANY of these signed books (not all) go for less than the cost of obtaining the signature and grading when they are on auction on eBay, CLink, and other places and offered there. A signed Stan Lee book can usually be obtained for less than the actual cost of Stan's signature and the cost related to signing,, grading, facilitating, and shipping.
  14. In all my experience they are pretty spot on. However... keep in mind that grading is always subjective so I notice that Heritage might be +/-.5 of the grade... then CGC grades it and that might be +/-.5 of a grade. This is what leads to a variance.
  15. Just get the raw book graded to allow your already complicated situation to get more complicated.
  16. Marvel Unlimited... save on space. Comixology... save on space.
  17. Do foreign versions count? I have been in the hunt for foreign versions of ASM 252.
  18. Just wondering... Came up as to some regulars that were usually there that might not have been there...
