  1. Andrew Rochon is a piece of garbage.
  2. Yeah I think my viewpoint is an extension of baseball autographs.
  3. I'm always torn when it comes to whether or not artists signing books they worked on is defacing the book. I would never have a 9.8 copy of this book signed... midgrade copies are fair game to me though. As far as Stan's sig placement I said the same thing but we both know we have seen worse. I would not have bid if his signature was over the characters' faces. I know you crack many books out but do you ever get SS books at all and crack those out? I view my few SS books like autographed baseballs so I am mostly am chasing the signature or sketch and not the book. To me the CGC case is like the Steiner certification with baseballs.
  4. Pretty sure I overpaid for this but I think it is still cheaper than going through the facilitators, the individual charges for Stan and Romita, as well as the price for the grading and the book itself...
  5. Well I tried to atone for my egregious error by throwing in Lego items and other knick knacks to be passed to future recipients, privately said I was sorry, tore my entry from the book and never posted my pics of Kraven when he spent time with me. I erased my existence concerning the Kraven affair so as not to have my terrible self sullying the whole adventure. Take a page from Frozen at this point... "Let it go."
  6. Seriously? This is his latest "thing" This is the first time that I am saying this publicly. I had a book that was graded wrong in my opinion. It received a blue label marked missing centerfold when I knew that it should be a purple with some resto and a married centerfold. I contacted CGC and they promptly took care of the situation. They were professional and asked to review the book again and fixed the problem. My book currently sits in that purple label book. It frigging happens. Is it supposed to? Probably not but what is CGC success rate vs their mistakes? I am not being an apologist or a fanboy for them I am considering the number of books processed without incident vs the number of books processed with an incident. They seem to have a great success rate. Furthermore Dennis is a tool from what I have read in regards to his rants online.
  7. It's when we were goofing on CAK. He had requested it... I walked up to him at Carbo and brought him the paper with love from his fellow boardies.
  8. I had purchased some from Amazon at another boardie's request to bring to them at a show.
  9. No problem with the new slabs anymore. I also do not mind if I have 'mismatched' slabs. It makes no difference to me. Keep in mind that eventually they will change the label again or the slab design again. I am not going to reholder my collection every time a new slab is introduced or the label is tweaked. I would rather spend my money on a new acquisition to my collection. The multi tool is a great suggestion @mschmidt and something I just added to my Amazon basket. I feel guilty many times when I send things off to be pressed or even simply graded and I request that the presser open up the slab. I will give it a try. Thanks.
  10. I was sent a higher price item once. It was for items that were worth a few thousand in place of the item I bought which was worth a few hundred. I created two topics here because I had the name of the recipient in the invoice, other boardies contacted me and gave me his contact information and I sent it out to him. There are quite a few of us that will do the right thing and believe in the cosmic comic gods of karma.
  11. One is going to me and the other will go to eBay... I have not decided which will be which. However... if I get something else they will both be marked up and sent to the Bay Land.

  13. HA Beat ya to it ! I've got more coming up.
  14. I had a 101 in 9.0 from a few years ago so I picked up the "sister" book in the same grade. anything else aside from a certain GA book I pick up will be to flip.
  15. Might be keeping the slabs at a differint A boardie is coming to Long Island to visit. I might put him to work while he is here.
  16. I forget if I have ever asked this before... Was Danny selling comics out of his yard as well as the RVC shows during the 1990's? His home or the yard he used would have been around the Queens / Nassau border area if I recall correctly.
  17. Nah... didn't like those. They weren't as form fitting as a comic book box.
